I read that in fourth grade. It's weird.

I think it's kind of good. But yeah, kind of weird too.

I've finished high school so there's nothing I have to read at the moment but we never had to read anything like the books all of you mentioned, except Shakespeare. Our books were mostly Russian literature which I don't mind but I always LOVED E. A. Poe and Franz Kafka so it sucks our program didn't include much of their work.
Now I have to wait and see what college offers.

This year I hated most of the books we read. Now this year is over so I can complete the list.

Last year we got to choose from a long list what to read for English courses. I got three courses, so I read two books of my choice and one obligatory. I had Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (highly recommend, Mr. Dracy is awesome), Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding (recommend that one too) and Catcher in the Rye (too much cussing for my taste - this was the book everyone had to read for course one).

Then we had a lot of books in Finnish classes, can't really remember all of them, but we had also in Finnish books of our own choice. I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (for the thousandth time) and Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse.
