House of Night -- New York City

I hate being noticed. I was always TO shy to talk.
'Ugh why cant i just say hi' i though.
I got lost in my thought and ran into a tree. "Ow dammit!" I yelled as people looked at me.
Great, i made a fool out of myself.

"whats your name?" i asked her. i felt bad about her running into the tree.

"i see what you mean, let them come to you. you know i could always mess with them" i formed a shadow ball in my hand and smirked.

"Eep!" I jumped "O-Oh I-Im Star.." I said looking down.
My head hurt a lot from running into a tree but i didnt like it when people were worried.

i smiled at kari. "nice to meet you star."

I nodded. I smiled now knowing that i was gonna have some friends!
"O-Oh what your name" I stuttered.
My bangs from my hair were still covering my mark but hey i didn't care.

"And im Kari." I said, i made the shadow ball disappear in my hand. I stood up and stretched "Im gonna walk around for a little, you know, chill. Bye meggie, bye star"

"im meggie and this is kari."

"B-Bye" i said shyly waving bye to Kari.
"Okay its nice to meet you guys"
I smiled. I finally didnt stutter in one of my sentences.

"sit down star and stay awhile."

"Sorry." I said and looked away "Im used to not being talked to." I sighed and jumped up in the tree on one of the branches.

"its ok. so what do like to do?"

I walked around, i saw the tracker leaving. "I guess we have a new fledgling coming." I sat on the bench in the front of the school and waited to see the new addition to the house of night

"Im not sure.." I said to Meggie.
I glanced at a tracker leaving and smiled. "Hey i think we are going to get a new Fledging!" I said happily and pointing to the tracker.

james: school was over for the day and i was looking forward to going home and playing my wii system. i went to my locker and put my backpack in it because i didnt need it tonight. a guy stood at the end off the hall and pointed at me. i passed out and hit the floor.

meggie: i sighed. i wished one of these days he would mark my brother james.

The tracker came in with the new, guy? i couldnt see so i pulled the shadows over me and followed them to the clinic. I wondered who it was and if they'd choose a new name. I thought it was stupid but then its new life so, why not a new name? I followed into the room and waited for the new person to wake up

I looked at meggie an sighed.

james: when i came to my head was pounding. i looked around. i wasnt at school anymore. i didnt know where i was at all. i wanted my sister. meggie where are you? i miss you and you., i thought to myself.

meggie: i picked up on the new persons thoughts. i herd sister and meggie and i miss you and need you. i gasped. my brother was the new student!

I looked at Meggie. "Hey look a new kid." I pointed in the direction of her brother.

meggie: "i know. its my brother james. i can read thoughts and move objects with my mind."

james: i felt so confused. i honestly didnt know where i was.

The new guy woke up "Hey, new fledgling." i looked at him who did he remind me of? i thought "meggie!" i said. "you look just like my friend meggie" i said to him. "Sorry, im Kari and you are..?"

"Oh my i didnt know.. Do you wanna go see him with me?" i asked but if she wanted to see him alone im okay with that.

james: "my name is james.. and i have a sister named meggie.."

meggie: "i'll check on him later.... kira is talking to him."

I sighed. Great i made my new friend sad. "Im sorry if i made you sad.." i said looking down.
