I followed her up the stairs to the dorm. I just now noticed that she hadn't said anything about my mark...maybe I was just losing it... "Hey, have you...noticed anything weird or unusual about me?"

Alice looked at him with a stunning, bright smile. "Your mark, But I love it. Its so unique and beautiful." She told him honestly. She didn't find it weird, she found it unique.

I blinked. "Beautiful? I looked in my rearview mirror before getting out of my car, and I saw a murky, nasty green color." I couldn't believe she had said that my mark was beautiful...it changed back to red as I was speaking.

"See! It changed color! I love it!" She stopped, placing her hand on his face and tracing his mark. She had her mark outlined in purple, with beautiful marks going down her face, as though she were a goddess..

He smiled and blushed as she traced his mark. They were in his dorm now and he kicked off his shoes to sit on the bed, pulling her down next to him. "What do you mean it changed color?" He asked, confused.

She slid off her shoes after him, squealing a bit as she fell beside him, giggling. "Yes, I watched it. Its red." She told him honestly.

"Is that even possible?" He got up and went into the bathroom, and, sure enough, his mark was a deep red. What had happened to the murky green? "It was that color green when you first saw me, though, right?"

"Yes it was." She told him, getting up and following him, standing beside him. She was certainly shorter than him.

He looked down at her. "What is wrong with me?" He asked, like she would know. One of her blonde curls had escaped from the rest of them and made its new home on her face; he brushed it away gently.

She blushed, nuzzling her cheek into his hand as she smiled. He was sweet, she liked that.

He smiled back at her and caressed her cheek lightly. What was he doing? He never did anything like this.

He blushed and pulled away. He shouldn't be doing this. "So, uh, when does our first class start?" He asked, trying to keep cool.

"Ah well, breakfast is now. Our first class is in thirty minutes.." She told him, grabbing his hand and dragging him with her to go to breakfast.

He chuckled and followed her to breakfast. He loved the way her hand felt in his. It was like magic to him.

"You can sit with me!" She told him as she walked with him, going to the lunch line, people staring at the two holding hands.

"Thanks." He muttered quietly, keeping his head down to hide his mark. Alice might like it, but he wasn't sure how everyone else would feel about it. He was getting enough attention for holding hands with Alice, anyway.

Domonick felt Alice grab his hand tighter and responded by putting his arm around her and pulling her close. Not in a flirty way, but just he could sense that she was uncomfortable with something...

Aidan walked into the dining hall to get breakfast just like any other day. He still hadn't gotten over Alice, and when he saw her holding hands with some new guy no more than a month after they broke up, he almost lost it. He walked over to her and grabbed her wrist tight. "What exactly are you trying to do?" I growled through my teeth.

Alice gasped as she tried to get closer to Domonick. "I-I'm his mentor!" She told him. No matter how long it was, he was still crazy and possesive..

"So you're holding his hand?" He asked, tightening his grip around her wrist. "Are you seriously trying to make me jealous by using this kid?" He chuckled quietly.

He looked at Alice and pulled her away from him. "Look, I don't know what's between you two, but there's nothing between me and Alice. Like she said., she's my mentor...that's...it..." He trailed off as he realized that his statement had been a total lie.

"Are you really going to let this kid fight your battles?" He laughed and shoved them both backward. "Pathetic." He muttered.

She cringed, knowing her wrist was bruised. She latched onto Domonick. "Get lost! You know why I broke up with you so just get lost you monster!" She was screaming, and on the verge of tears. Everyone was watching her.

"All right, all right." He said, putting his hands up above his head. "I'll leave." He starte backing up, but then ran back toward Domonick. "Just remember, buddy. Your little girlfriend there," He nodded over to Alice, "she's about as pure as New York snow." He then shoved Domonick in the chest and turned to walk away.

He staggered backward a little, taking Alice with him, but making sure she didn't fall. Once he was out of shock, he looked at the little piece of heaven clung to him. "You dated that jerk?"

She nodded, turning to him and lifting up her shirt, showing her tan belly covered in scars. "He abused me." She told him as she put down her shirt, tears in her eyes.

He held her close to him. "I am so sorry, Alice." He whispered into her hair. "Do you want to talk about it more sometime?"
