Heritage *Started but OPEN*

"I seriously have no idea" I said, "Bin it?"

I smile moved across my face as I watched the sun

'alright, er where's the bin?' i asked looking around and not seeing one.

i hummed a tune quietly to myself in a contented manner.

I looked around, "Oh" I said, "Um..I think there was one in the kitchen"

A smiled turned the corners of my mouth up as I listened to him

'i'll go get it then,' i said and left the room. i was about a meter from the kitchen when it hit me. i flew off my feet and landed in a heap on the floor. my skin was crawling and the black shadow gripped onto my wrist like it was solid. it hurt and i screamed like a girl for all i was worth.

i stopped mid-hum and listened. i thought i'd heard something.

I heard Rana and ran towards her scream

I looked up at Adrain, "You heard that right?"

i was shaking my arm and whimpering in pain.
'get it off me,' i yelled unsure if anyone could hear me.

'i did,' i said stiffly. 'i should check it out, you should probably stay with me.' i said protectively.

I nodded wide eyed

I ran skidding round into the kitchen to see it with her, I grabbed a plate and threw it at it

something it hit and it let go startled. i crawled away and saw ben. i got unsteadily to me feet and ran over to him, collapsing into him. tears streaked my face.

'this way,' i said as i quickly moved through the corridors towards the sound.

I wrapped my arms round her protectively, "Come on" I whispered half dragging her backwards towards the dining hall

I ran with Adrian following the scream

i stumbled with him sobbing, my arm still felt like it was burning where the thing had touched me.

'keep close,' i said to lilith. we rounded the corner and i saw ben dragging rana to the dining room. she was crying.
'what happened?' i said.

I jumped holding her before realising it was Adrian and Lillith, "We were attacked" I stated, they should know now

I kept close, behind him the whole way, I rushed over to them, "Is she ok?"

i clung on to ben, not letting go, and whimpered again.

'by what?' i asked trying to look rana over.

I sighed, "Come with us" I said scooping Rana up properly, "let me get her comfortable and then I'll explain"

I nodded, "Probably the best" I said taking Adrian's hand and following Ben carrying Rana down to hall

i felt him pick me up and i turned my head into his chest instinctively. i knew i'd be a little embarrassed later but it was a nice feeling now.

i followed them keeping lilith in sight of me and holding her hand. i thought this place was safe but i knew rana wasnt the type of person to burst into tears for no reason.

I couldn't stop my smile as she curled into me

I glanced over at Adrian

'what happened exactly?' i asked ben. 'who or what attacked you?'

i flinched thinking about it and tightened my grip, squeezing my eyes closed.

I looked at Adrian, "It was a ghost like demony thing" I said, "Big and black.human shaped, but looked more like a cloud..It's been after Rana all day it's the third tme we've seen it although she felt it's presence with her before it appeared the first time...It seems angry" I shuddered, "And dangerous"

I looked at Adrian, "You said this place wasn't haunted" I stated

i was concerned.
'it wasnt, not before. this isnt a normal ghost kind of thing. i'm not sure.' i said.

'it touched me,' i whispered into ben's shirt front. 'so horrible.'

I held her in my arms, cradled aginst me protectively

"Did it hurt you" I asked

'let me see?' i said and she extended her arm. there was red and blistered like a burn but there was a distinct hand shape.
'that's not a fire burn,' i said.

i lifted my head from ben's chest and looked at my arm, my other one had snaked up around ben's neck.
'is it bad?'

"What do you think did that?" I asked, "What is the thing?"

I looked at the burn on Rana's arm

'i dont know but it looks like radiation burn. kind of like a sun burn but alot stronger.' i said. 'i have no idea what could have done it.' i ran my finger gently across it.

it hurt, alot, and i cried out in pain pulling my arm back.

I stepped back protectively

"I'll get ice" I sighed

'no ice doesnt help the burn, get cold water on a cloth,' i said. i knew alot about burns but this one was different.

'thank you,' i whispered to ben out of ear shot of the others. 'thank you for rescuing me.'
