I laughed, "Cool," I said, "Saves us explaining where we're off to"

I saw a girl, "Hey, I'm dougie"

"You wanna join us" I asked, "We're sneaking out to get pizza"

I smiled, "Cool," I said, "This is Tyler, Ana, Katie and Jessica" I said pointing round the group

"Hi" Ana smiled, grinning even more when Mina's thoughts about dougie were practically being shouted in her mind.
"So, where are you youngen's heading then? "She joked."It's been a while since I've left the school, you'll have to elaborate."

I laughed, "There's a cool pizza place just down the street" I said, "we could go there"

"OKay then," Ana started, "Are we all set?"

I nodded, "Yeah I think so"

"Alright," I said waving my arm toward the hall, "let's go!" I popped my earbuds back in and started listening to my music once again.

Ana grinned and skipped allongside the others.
It was good to be leaving these walls, good to have someone to go with.
All her friends had completed the change and were long gone.
She was the oldest fledgling at the school, and not even a proper fledgling at that, her marks were imprinted on her skin, just not colured in.
Sure it helped her blend in with humans easier, but why would she want to?
Why would she want to be something she isn;t? All she wanted to was to become what she was meant to be.
She hid all this behind a whistful smile and glazed eyes, as if she was day dreaming, it was easier that way. If the others jsut thought she was slightly weird, 'not all here', atleast that way they wouln't know how she really felt.

I smiled and walked, "I'm a fifth former here" I told her, "What about you?" I asked

Ana smiled, Mina was so cute.
And dougie seemed as if he had no idea what was going on.
the whole thing was really sweet, and it made her sad, sad that she couldn't be a part of something like that.
She was shunned by humans because of what she was, and she was shunned by her own kind, well those of a certain age, because of what she wasn't.
And again she hid behind her mask, silently hating Nyx, hating her body and at the same time loving Nyx because it was all she could do. She had to believe that Nyx had a reason for doing this.
