| Yes, I have a new story lol. I am working on my old ones as well as this one. Please read and comment~. Preface
You may take a look at this and wonder, why would anybody allow this to happen? But, this is life. The things most precious to you get taken away from you at some point in time. You just have to decide what you’re going to do about it. This is an account of people that this has happened to. Some decide to pursue their precious items; some decide to give up completely. This story is true and isn’t for the faint of heart. You will question everything you have done. You will wonder why you did or didn’t do what the character did. Everyone is connected in a certain way. The same can be said for all of the characters in this story. Try and figure it out. You’ll never know until you try. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Prologue
My name is Hannah. Or is it Sylvia? I can’t remember anymore… No, I’m not crazy; I’m not insane. I had no worries, other than maybe my homework or an occasional argument with my parents. Now, I worry about whether or not something’s gonna try and kill me. Or worse… Maybe I’ll have another new…”personality”. Bull. They’re people. Just like you and me. Like anyone really. They’re all so different, yet so similar. They all connect to each other in some way. I’m not the only one who knows them! Other’s notice them too… I am not crazy. I’ve seen some pretty weird things though… but it’s definitely not my imagination. I am not crazy! Explain to me how people can know things that I know…without me telling them? How can I feel for people I have never met or barely know? How on earth can these things happen? I’ve got an explanation. But nobody believes me… Maybe it’s just that nobody will listen. I’m not crazy… Nobody listens to a child. Yet, we have the most to say. We live through so much. Nobody believes what we go through… No more. It is time for my voice to be heard. Everything will make sense. Just give it time. Until then, just retain. I am not crazy.
Chapter 1: Rick
I was missing something. Something important… God, why couldn’t I remember? I scoffed; Jake wouldn’t help me right now. I kept moving forward, keeping the adrenaline low. I couldn’t freak out, not now. My girl needed me. Well, her sister anyway. The one I was marrying. Though I didn’t want to. I had been promised to her. Ugh. Screw this. A scream pierced my thoughts. Damn. I took off down the hall, knowing just where to go. My feet carried me there. It was almost instinct. Come to the mansion. Talk to their mother. See her. Oh, her. She was beautiful. Her aqua hair neatly pulled back into a bun. Her blue eyes sparkling when she snuck a look at me. The artwork she slipped me when serving me dinner. Breathtaking… Her name gave me chills. Muse… “Rick!” My name shattered my daydream. My legs propelled me forward. Faster. My heart thumped in my chest. Faster. Breaths quickened. Faster. Almost there. Heat radiated from the door, my hand breaking it open. Eyes stared at me, floating in darkness, shrouded by cloaks. Frantic breathes to my left. Dark hair covered my girl’s face, her body shuddering in tremors. I went to her, quickly, trying to get there before… Fire. The brightness exploded in front of me. Her agony could’ve caused glass to break. I felt no pang in my heart. Until… “Muse?” a soft-spoken question. Her sculpted face stared at me in pure horror, flames starting to lick her soft skin. Sadness filled her eyes, a single tear escaping down her charring cheek. “What have you done to me…?”
------------ Where had she gone? She was here just a second ago… I rubbed my eyes. I must have fallen asleep. I hadn’t seen Muse in almost six months. Muse… Why does her name hurt so much? I forced myself to get up, reaching for my mobile device.
Two new messages My finger pushed the button, opening the unread messages.
Diana cell Wake up. I’ve got a job for you. Call me. 6:47pm – Jan 13 Sigh. I was not looking forward to whatever she had planned. I had recently started working with her. Considering her old pilot Reno had quit…no. Left was the better term. Besides, had to do something besides drink. I didn’t expect the next message to be important. Boy, was I wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time.
Jake cell We need 2 tlk It bout the grls 7:03pm – Jan 13 The girls… The only ones I care about are Sylvia and Mu – sh@t. I pushed the mobile device into my worn out jeans, taking off. No time to waste. Diana could wait. This was important. The second I passed the door of my apartment, the device was out again. My fingers automatically knew which buttons to press. I raised it to my ear, hearing the slow tone of it ringing. Faster… “Pick up damnit…” I muttered into the empty receiver. “What Rick?” Jake’s toneless voice responded. I almost jumped. He actually – well duh. He was the one who contacted me first. “What was with that text? You never contact me. What happened?” Damn. Why was I so concerned? Sylvia barely registered on my radar. But Muse. She kept popping up. Muse. Ugh! I almost cried out in frustration. “I need you to keep an eye on Sylvia.” Sigh. That wasn’t what I wanted to hear. “What’s wrong with her?” Silence on the other end. I waited. Was he thinking? I waited. What was going on with him…? I waited. A sudden thought donned on me. She could’ve – “She’s gotten worse.” “How so?” My mind was spinning. That word meant so many different things. Worse. She could be physically injured. Again. (Not like I’d be surprised) or even worse. She’d gone through another emotional trauma. I swear that girl – “Physically,” was all that came through the garbled speaker. He didn’t have to say more. I knew what that meant. She wasn’t sleeping, she couldn’t eat, and she would lash out. I’d been around her when she was like that. Just weak in general. A microscopic tone sounded, only loud enough for my inhuman ears. Diana.
Diana cell Damnit Rick! I cant keep waiting. Meet me at the warehouse. You’ve got five mins. 7:25pm – Jan 13 Sh@t. I did not need her pissed at me. As my only source of income, I had to go. I opened my mouth to speak, but the words that came out were not my own. “I’ll see you in a couple hours. You need to go.”
---------------- The world was fuzzy, but distinctly clearer. The lights dancing across Jake’s pale face, shadows were he smiled. The joking laughter and the soft thumps. Naku and Lux, wrestling each other over a bottle. Almost made me smile. The warmth I felt flowing off my friends. Cool liquid fell down my throat, an acquired taste over many years of practice. I picked up the bottle of Vodka, bringing it to my mouth. The glass slipped past my lips, allowing more cool liquid to race down my throat. My eyes closed a calming feeling washing over me. I couldn’t remember anything anymore. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t feel either. “Rick.” I turned to the source, eyes opening slightly. A person stared back at me. His warm smile covered his face, a laugh creeping out his lips. “Dude, you ok?” “Yeah. I’m fine Jake,” came the response. I wasn’t sure it was my voice at first. It didn’t sound like me… A hand was now resting on my shoulder. Jake actually looked calm. The complete opposite of how he usually was, without alcohol. “You sure?” “Yeah. Just thinking about her…and my boy.” I added with a sheepish smile. Max. Maximillion. Maxy. The child I’d had with her… Muse. “I know man.” I was pulled into something I’d call a man-hug. You know, one of those awkward guy hugs that guys do when they’re trying to make each other feel better. At least I knew Jake meant it. I stood up, lifting my bottle high, almost triumphantly. A smirk spread across my face as my friends turned to look at me. Each one looked at me with an amused expression. They started chanting. “Speech! Speech! Speech!” I quieted them down, laughing. I couldn’t help but feel happier with them. I looked each one of them in the eye before starting. “I have been lost for far too long. I,” short pause, “am sick of sitting back and watching things happen to me. Waiting. Yearning for something that won’t happen unless I do something about it. I am not going to loose her again!” Cheers erupted from my friends, our bottles raised high. “I am going to march back to her and tell her that we are going to work this out. I will not take no for an answer!” They egged me on as I pulled the glass bottle to my lips again and chugged the entire bottle. I felt as if I was on top of the world.

| Hahaha. Nice Ageless. Here's most of the next chapter. By the way, it's going to get a bit confusing =] ------------ Chapter 2 – Leia I sunk into the fuzzy sepia chair, pillows molding around my form. My eyes followed my mother, watching her pace. She was rambling about something. More than likely about my father. My lip curled up into a snarl before I tuned back in. “I need to go talk to your father.” I rolled my eyes in disgust, a growl escaping my lips. “What for? After you had me and Venn, he stopped talking to you. He hasn’t talked to you since.” I felt a pang in my heart that the mention of that. Reminded me of Steel… A heavy sigh. “Yes, I know dear. I need to talk to him about that.” I wanted to ask her about her new mate, Derek. I knew well enough that if I did, it wouldn’t end well. “As well as your curse.” I froze at the word. Curse. My father had passed it down to me. The curse of the raven. It caused me daily pain, forcing wings into a small section of my upper back, wedged between my shoulder blades. The tattoo on my back, where my wings emerged, was shaped like a winged curve, a V lacing the bottom. It forced me into solitude; neither vampire clans nor shifter packs wanted me. Why would they? I was a mixture of both, not belonging to either one. To top it all off, I wore a wooden bead bracelet, painted white and black, which singed my skin where it touched. My looks didn’t help either. My slick amber hair went down past my shoulders, covering my reminder. If you looked at me in the right lighting, you would notice a faint blue tint to the strands. My eyes were…different. Definitely inhuman. No part of me is normal. My eyes are inside-out. The whites of my eyes are black. The middle of my eye is purely an emerald green, nothing else. I have no pupil, yet I see better than most. Warmth. I flinched at it, my body naturally cold. My mother’s hand squeezed my shoulder, attempting comfort. Ha. I was never comfortable here… She pulled away, her eyes showing she was lost in thought. Her thoughts pressed against my barrier, inviting me to see what they were, but I held them back. I knew what she was going to say before she said it. “I’m going to be busy today, can you go to school for me?” I nodded absently, my mind focused elsewhere. I stood up, my mom vanishing from my vision. I went to the mirror and stared at it. The longer I stared at it, the more I could see of the stranger I was pretending to be. This stranger was a girl; she was much like me. Her hair fell down around her shoulders in a tangled brown mess. Strands were still red from when my mother had decided to color the hair. My odd eyes changed to hazel, now brimmed with lenses. Her body was decent, the envy of girls and the want of men. I pulled a brush through the mess, making the stranger look presentable. I found something to wear in a pile of clothes on the floor, stripping her body and dressing it. I looked the stranger in the mirror before grabbing the bag I was supposed to carry and headed down the carpeted stairs. Her father smiled at me as I passed, “Have a good day,” and I was on my way to where the mother was. I plopped down my stuff at the stairwell, heading off to check the Internet world my mother was fascinated with. I checked everything for her; unsure of why this was so important. The time came for me to leave. 8:10 exactly. I stood up, went in to extract the lunch from the fridge and say goodbye to the mother, letting her hug me tightly. After I smiled at her, I took my leave and went to wait for the public transportation. During the ride, I mindlessly listened to a girl who talked about her life. As we neared the school, I set my barrier higher. This was going to be terrible. I got off the bus and headed through the courtyard, dodging children left and right. I bid her farewell and went in through the double doors to the building. I approached the group that I knew as my mother’s friends. I ignored everyone, smiling at a few that I knew she wouldn’t forgive me if I didn’t. I sat down next to Derek and he looked at me, smiling with his puppy-like disposition. I leaned into him, playing the part of his girlfriend. I could feel his warm arms wrap around my now warm body, my head on his shoulder. “How’re you?” he whispered to me. I shrugged, getting comfortable. This was nice…made me miss Steel even more. “Pretty good. Tired.” He nodded and murmured. “Me too.” I closed my eyes, the thoughts pounding against my barrier. This annoyed me greatly, but I didn’t let it get to me. I could hear the name I was to respond to, yet I didn’t bother. I could just pretend to be in a bad mood. The droning sound of a bell forced me to open my eyes. A groan escaped my lips, a sigh escaping Derek's. He helped me up and I forced myself to not growl at the people asking for hugs. I hated physical contact. Period. But this was my job today. Be my mother. “Come on dear. It’s time for class.” I laced my fingers into his, not bothering to mention I wasn’t his girl. It wasn’t like it made much difference to him. He didn’t have to see me today. I walked him up to his class, eyeing each person we passed in turn. One girl stood out from the rest. She was short. Much shorter than myself and has this dark brown hair. She dressed as some would call…emo. Though I’m not sure I could classify her as such. I didn’t know her, but it seemed as if she knew Derek and me. Her eyes seemed to show that she was studying me…they also seemed rather…possessive. I wasn’t sure what to think. He leaned against the red lockers, pulling me with him. I followed him, my mind still on the girl. I let my arms wrap naturally around him. My eyes closed as I started to feel serene. Odd, I’d never felt this. Not even with…God; get out of my head. “You need to get to class.” I let out a sigh and pulled away, looking him in the eyes. “As should you,” I replied.

------------
He looked deep into my eyes, a smile spreading across his face. I could’ve sworn there was movement behind those eyes… He pulled back and repeated. “You need to get to class, dear.”
I nodded absently, my mind contemplating. I looked up at him once more before smiling, hugging him close again before passing him. “I love you,” I whispered to him.
“I love you too,” was the response.
I walked through the halls, weaving around each and every last human. I noticed the girl’s eyes were on me. I couldn’t read her expression, but her vibe wasn’t…threatening like I was expecting. I went through the doors and headed down the stairs, just as the two minute warning bell rang. | |

| So... I have an update =]
Note: Go back to the first page and read the newest thing I posted in the intro thing. ------------------
Chapter 3 – Ray
I was running. I was always running. I couldn’t stop running. It was all because of them. They were after me for what I did. Not like I had much of a choice. I -had- to do it. I couldn’t disobey -her-.
I needed to get to a discreet location. Some place they wouldn’t look for me. Jake. No one would look for me where he was. I focused on the last spot I’d seen him, closed my eyes, and appeared a few seconds later.
I opened my eyes, glad to see what was in front of me. Jake was sprawled out on an old, weathered green couch, his brownish hair a messy mop. An empty bottle of Vodka was still in his hand, and many littered the floor. His blue-green eyes had a lazy look to them and his posture displayed he was relaxed.
“Jake.”
He turned to face me, his hand gripping the neck of the bottle. A weary grin spreaded across his face as his eyes stopped to rest at mine. “Ray. It’s been a long time, my friend.” He stood up, extending his free hand.
I took it firmly, shaking his hand. “That it has.” A smile spread across my face.
“No longer on the run?” He tilted his head, pulling back as he sat back down.
I sighed, naturally shaking my head. “No, I’m still being chased. Thought I could hide here for a while.”
“Of course. Sylvia won’t mind. There’s already so many of us here. One more won’t make much of a difference.” Jake’s smile widened before he laughed.
I chuckled nervously; he had a point. The last time I checked, ten people were living inside her regularly. It wasn’t as if she cared. I sat down on the glass table in front of the couch.
“What’d you do this time?”
I looked to Jake, my black eyes calmer than normal. “I’m still listening to -her-. So what do you think?”
He nodded in understanding.
I sighed, looking around the house. The white walls were chipped in places, random holes dotting it; the holes were from anger, or people living in the walls. The halls leading to the unlimited bedrooms lasted forever, expanding and fading as people came and went. It amazed me how much this one body and mind could support.
I noticed Leia, who was standing as still as a statue. Her posture was rigid and her odd eyes were fixed upon something outside the body. I walked up behind her and touched her shoulder. She didn’t move. I followed her gaze and saw an odd sight.
There were children. Everywhere… They covered every square inch of the concrete. They moved around like chickens with their heads cut off. It was sporadic and chaotic. They were screaming and running after one another. | |
