I smiled and kissed her forehead. "Love you," I said before running out the door to go buy some clothes and to surf.

i sang to myself.

I got a few other dresses for her and then changed into my swim shorts as I drove to the cove and beach I usually go to. So I needed purple seaweed.

i fell asleep.

I caught maybe two waves before I saw what I was looking for. I jumped off my board and swam for it. I picked as much as I could before surfacing.

I smiled and swam to shore with my board and put it away.

I drove home as fast as I could and ran to the bathroom with the seaweed in hand. "I got it," I said before entering.

I smiled and looked at her. "You're so beautiful when you sleep."

I smiled. "Might I ever hear your songs?" I asked her.

"You would fall asleep instantly."

"Oh," I said. "When a mermaid sings all mortal men fall asleep? Or is it just everyone?"

"We sing to our lovers at night so they can sleep peacefuly."

I smiled. "That's nice of you," I said.

i smiled. "So did you find it?"

"Yup," I said holding up the weed.

I handed her two strips like she asked.
