| Prologue
"Cause nothing's goin' right, and everything's a mess, and no one likes to be alone..." the music played on, but she was no longer with the music...
There was nothing to change the fact that she was alone in pain, and only the startled hic that accompanied the echoes of the sobs could be heard. The endless run towards the shining tree of everlasting cherry blossoms, towards her hope, warmth and comfort. I'm but a wearing soul seeking a light at the end of the tunnel...
Crumbling to the ground, overcome by anguish and agony, she could only watch her emotions turn the grey skies black, as the last ray of light disappeared behind the clouds and snow started falling. Flakes after flakes, they land and melt against her check, then being mixed with tears, they flowed down the sides of her check. They were slowly chilling the air, chilling her skin, chilling her heart, chilling her. The abyss that absorbed everything without leaving a trace gave her no chance to even fill it with frozen ice, leaving her shivering with cold and emptiness.
Worn and torn lying on the ground covered in white, she slowly melted away, into the snow, into earth, vanishing into the nothingness, all forgotten and fading away. Not a single hand extended though their murmuring she could hear. She was all alone, without care and concern. Only leaving her with only herself to cry to, only herself to hear her out, only herself, only...
"It's a damn cold night, trying to figure out this life, won't you take me by the hand take me somewhere new, I don't know who you are, but I... I'm with you..." Her favorite idol, her favorite song, her beloved melody... Like her, it was fading into the howling wind, fading into the distant murmuring, fading away...

| Chapter 1 - Nightmare
Fate
Falling into the nothingness, It's just a world of darkness. Craving for the happiness, Trying to forget all the sadness.
How come life's such a pain? What is there to gain? Where's the rainbow after the rain? When will life change again? ~Ger.
Jacqueline fumbled for her spectacles, then sat up and leaned against the wall, gasping, once again awakened by her nightmare. That dream that haunted her every night, it was of a vast empty land with souls that were distantly friendly and the shining pink blossom tree of hope and comfort disappearing upon her arrival. She looked around, it was pitched dark other than the minimal amount of street light from the street lamp shining through the curtains, no one seemed to be awake. Everyone was seemingly sounded asleep, undisturbed by their dreams. At that moment, an empty feeling started to eat into her as she watched her friends' serene faces facing her. I’m all alone in pain again. Hope for a peaceful night used to be broken by that nightmare that had haunted her since her tenth birthday, when everyone was split into different classes. Being casted out of a warm and friendly class, she entered a new class where none of her friends were in. The cold shoulders and sarcastic comments that she had to face and endure since then, had her faith and hope in making a friend seem like a distant dream fading away. Life which used to be a bed of roses became a bed of pricks instantly, causing her to bleed inwardly. There was nothing she could do with the single frail voice of hers. All that could be done was to tolerate and accept, to take in and eat up. It was no longer a matter of right or wrong, nor was it a matter of pride or dignity, it was a matter of stepping back or getting more hurled your way. With that, she could only abide to life’s bitter pill, and watch the last bit of pride peter out under the constant exposure of gamma rays (a kind of ray that is more harmful than X-ray)emitted by Elanor, her classmate. "Walls have ears..." A raspy voice whispered from the darkness without warning causing her to jump a little."Walls have ears..." it repeated, as other voices echoed it, engraving its words into her heart, burning a hole through. "Shut up!" She muttered, covering her ears in hope that the voice would fade away into the nothingness. It did nothing to help the situation, and instead, tears started welling up behind her lids as she hugged her legs to cover up her tear-streaked face, though obviously no one was looking. She was at a corner of the room, unnoticed by her other friends. Without someone to lend an arm of comfort, she felt like a lost soul, afraid and alone. You’ve been alone all this time, it’s only normal that no one lends you a shoulder to lean against.
