I nodded then sniffed the air"She is coming we must hurry"

my face fell, and I picked mercedes up again, "run" I said to Amillia, "and hold your breath." I added to Mercedes.

I nodded and started to run"how did she catch up so quickly"

"because she is fast." I said simply, slowing myself so Amillia could keep up.

I sighed"dang I am slow"I picked up my pace a little more

"...My... breath?"

I stopped, "breath." I said to her, allowing her to take some lung fulls of air, "now hold it again." I added before taking of again, catching up to Amillia in seconds.

"why am I slow"I pouted

"beacuse your young, your speed will increase with your age." I said smileing at her.

I closed my eyes and burried my face in his chest.

I nodded"ok"I glared at the girl in his arms

I was really scared of Amilia. Something about her... I didn't trust.

"leave her be Amillia." I said softly and stopped again so Mercedes could breathe.

I coughed. I looked up at John and nodded, a way of saying "go". I didn't want to be a pest... I was already... uninvited.

I stopped with him and sat down"why do you care so much about her"I turned my glare on him

"I envy her, she's human." I said peircing Amillia with a gimlet stare.

I looked up at him, "You do?" I whispered.

"yes." I sighed, "hold on." I started running again, grabbing Amillia's arm as I went so she would move to.

I curled into him again. I was really scared now. I knew I could trust John, but I also knew I wasn't safe with Amilia.

"I'm sorry if we're scaring you mercedes." I whispered to her as I ran.

I watched him silently and ran ahead of him so he wouldn't see my tears

I just nodded and gripped his shirt in my hands.

"Amillia, village up ahead, time to feed." I called as I caught the scent of humans and traffic.

I cringed.

I nodded"ok"I wiped away the tears and waited for him to catch up
