Damien is the only one out of the Circle you don't know where he is from, for all we know, he could have lived near Zoey.
I will always think that it was Damien who was marked, as he was marked a few months before Zoey went to the HoN.

when somethig intersesting gets put into the book to make the readers think , i always seem to read those bits right before i go to bed and im like thinking about it through school

I am re-reading Marked cause I'm out of books and it says that the guy was Marked a year before Zoey was. So he'd actually be a 4th Former.

He could be anyone, and any way he would have been a part of Zoeys him life (If at all) Maybe its already someone she has encountered? I don't feel it nessecary for him to be mentioned because no one at the HON hangs out with their old friends or people from their 'old school'

Yea that's very true. I think they just mentioned him because it was something for Zoey to sort of imagine would happen to her.

At the start to make you want to read it

I don't see how this is relevant in the larger scheme of things. If he is not an integral character to the story than he is not worth mentioning. Kids are Marked all the time, it is hardly surprising that Zoey was witness to this once. And she used that experience to reiterate how humans (including herself at the time) often perceive vampyres. I'm certainly not going to read into any further than that.
