Ironic (1x1)

I woke up at 5 in the morning feeling the full effects of a hangover. My head pounded. I looked at Kay and eased myself out of the bed and began putting on my clothes.

I stirred but didn't wake up

I found a piece of paper and wrote her my number and telling her to call me sometime. I left it on the nightstand and looked at her. I couldn't resist but to kiss her lightly on the forehead before carefully and quietly leaving.

I shuffled and rolled over sleeping.

I headed downstairs and made sure i locked the front door. I got in my car and started it as i looked at my phone. My wife thought i was on a business deal. Which the gala was, but she didn't know that it was still in the city. I backed out of the driveway and drove home.

I was making breakfast because he was going to this morning. I was happy that he was going to be home. Some times thought we weren't getting along anymore.

I parked opened the garage and drove into it. I took in a breath as i fixed my hair and straightened my clothes. I got out of the car and walked into the house. It smelt good with food.

I smiled when I heard the door open I turned the corner and smiled at him. "hi"

"Hey sweetheart." i said as i walked. "Smells good." i noted and began taking off my jacket. "I'm going to go take a quick shower." i said kissing her cheek before jogging upstairs.

"Okay." i said when he was gone. I finished up the food and sat at the table waiting for him.

I showered as fast as i could and put on my robe. I headed downstairs and smiled at her as i sat at the table. "Whats knew?" i asked as i helped myself to the food.

I smiled. "Nothing." I said handing him a plate. "What new with you?"

"I'm tired." i said honestly. "But i did get some very useful things at the auction." i told her.

I smiled "What did you get?"

"A painting that i thought you would like." i smiled as i filled the plate with food.

I smiled "We couldn't put it in the living room with the others." I said not getting alot of food.

"It could go in our room, or the dining room." i said as i took a bite of the food.

"It can't it has to go with the others." i said

"Wherever you want it is fine." i said.

I took a deep breath. "I want a baby." I said

I cleared my throat, set down my fork and looked at her. "You want a...baby?" i asked not sure if i heard her right.

I looked at him. "We have been together for a long time and I think it is time we start a family." I said a little nervous I had never brought this up before.

"If that's what you want?" i said it more as a question.

I stood up abruptly and walked to the sink with my plate. "No its fine. Forget that I even brought it.

I followed her and leaned on the counter with my plate in hand. "No its fine." i said looking at her. "it's just you never liked kids and now you want one?" i asked her.
