'Kayla!! What did I just say to you?!?!' Zoe hollered in my ear, as soon as she mentioned Heath I just totally zoned out. I mean, she might as well just dance around me singing the 'Heath will never be yours song'. She's can be a total *edit your post and this will go away* sometimes.
'I don't know, Sorry.. Just daydreaming bout the math's quiz we got third period' I lied, whilst I looked blankly into the back of my nasty school locker. Wishing it would just totally eat me.
'Bullpoop' She turned to look at the side of my head, I slowly turned to meet her harsh glare. 'Tell me what's on your mind' Zoe was always the most beautiful, she always got the nice guys, even in preschool they boys wanted to share their crayons with Zoe.
I can't take this anymore. I shoved my stupid maths textbooks in my nasty old bag, and turned to walk off. Something seemed off. I couldn't see anyone around, normally the hallway was buzzin' with losers moving to their next class.
'Oi, I haven't finished with you yet!' Zoe laughed and grabbed my arm. Thats when I saw one of 'them'..
His cresent moon on his forehead glowed with an intricate pattern filling it. He was so damn georgous, I couldn't look away. Then I realised he was only here for one thing, I turned and buried my head in my locker but Zoe was drawn to him. Like they where life long friends, it was scary.
I could feel everything cloud over, I began to feel faint and the only words that stood out when he spoke to Zoe where 'Thy death will be thy birth'
At that moment, a small part of me died along with my best friend Zoe. She turned to look at me with her cresent moon framing her high cheek bones. I could see pain, but I knew she wasn't the same. She was 'Marked'

Heath and Kaylas atempt to rescue Zoe.

'We need to save her from those crazy vamp freaks!' Heath told me as he swigged the remains of a once full beer can, I mean, this was at least his third. I couldn't say no, As soon as Zoe had 'died' it was like me and him where inseperable.
'What if she wants to be one of them?' I asked knowing, the answer I would get would probably be a crazy *edit your post and this will go away* drunken one.
Heath tugged at the pull ring on his beer 'We could at least try to bring her home, come'on baby', the very second he called me baby I couldn't say no, I just melted in front of him.
'Mmmm.. Okay' It still didn't seem a good idea, even after two beers.
'It's only 3 blocks walk.. Lets go' He pulled me up by the hand and we began to walk- Well thats if you can call Heaths drunk stumble a walk.
As we began closer to the freak school, even in the pitch black I could feel the darkness surronding it. My father who is one of the people of faith, along with Zoe's stepdad will be pissed just cause i was here.
'I heard there's a wall round back that goes into the school grounds' Heath told me, then he started climbing, scraping all his elbows like a little boy in the process.
In one quick move I jumped the wall, quite impressivley actually, but damn I wished I had worn a bra today. I couldn't see much apart from this massive statue with a few candles, scanning the place I could just make out a small figure, long black hair with some long black goth dress. I could feel the same pain as the day I lost her, like a billion knives ripping through my stomach.

Well, heres the next chunk, enjoy Oh and I know its not much like the book, but yeah.

'Heath, this is a stupid dang idea! Maybe she's happy here with them?' I grabbed Heath's arm, but he wasn't listening. As far as he was concerned, I wasn't even there. His eyes where set on Zoe. Like he was on some crazy mission.
Zoe was still sat hunched, unaware of her 'special vistors', thinking about it now, it was a pretty stupid idea.
'Zoe!..... ZOE!' Heath's drunken call filled the emptiness of the night, I can't see why the Vamps enjoy the night so dang much.
Heath stumbled closer and Zoe's eyes flashed towards us, she looked upset, her eyes glazed with tears. She looked so much like the day she left, it felt so unreal. Like any minute, I would wake up from my dream and go on a girly day to the mall and then pig out in our pjamas.
Something inside me, kept screaming wake up. Another part, kept on saying 'She's not your best friend, as far as you concerned, shes dead. Ok stupid?'
Zoe slowly shifted in her place, and looked past Heath blankly.
'Zoe, I knew i'd find you, we've come to save you' Heath slurred.
