Vampire Knight

Yuki Cross’ first memory is of when she was 5…

She was almost brutally attacked by a vicious vampire until a mysterious figure, saved her, his name was Kaname Kuran. Kaname was a vampire himself and he took Yuki to the Cross Academy and there she was adopted by Headmaster Kaien Cross, he took her in as his daughter and she would later serve as a prefect of his school, protecting all that it stands for. You see, The Cross Academy wasn’t a normal school, it was a school designed for a soul purpose, to prove vampires could coexist with humans. Her job includes guarding the transition between the Night Class, a group of beautiful people who are also vampires, and the Day Class, a normal group of human teenagers. Yuki, however, is not alone when doing these jobs. Four years ago, Zero Kiryu came into her life, his family had been savaged by a murderous “pureblood” vampire, and he has a strong dislike for vampires and is determined to kill them all. Zero has a bad relationship with Kaname, who is a student as the Night Class, as he is a pureblood vampire. Yet Zero has a secret, that same time, four years ago, he was bitten by the pureblood and is slowly degenerating into a level E vampire, a vampire who loses his humanity and becomes a monster.
Beasts in human form who drink the blood of living humans…
What happens when Zero slowly starts to become insane, and Yuki becomes curious about her past and questions Kaname, her crush, who is hiding quite a few secrets of his own...?

Main Characters:

Yuki Cross
Yuki is the adopted daughter of the Head master at Cross Academy and is a member of the Disciplinary Committee, also known as a Guardian. She, like Chairman Cross, believes that vampires and humans can live together peacefully. She also faces the challenge of trying to save Zero from becoming a Level E, a mad and bloodthirsty vampire. Yuki has no memory of her life before she was 5.

Zero Kiryu
Zero is Yuki's childhood friend and the only other Cross Academy Guardian. Zero carries an anti-vampire gun named "Bloody Rose". Even before becoming a vampire, Zero Kiryu was noted to be a talented vampire hunter due to being the strongest of a pair of rare twin hunters, his twin Ichiru. Zero is a highly talented vampire hunter and possesses the standard abilities to sense vampires from a great distance, accelerated healing and in spite of being a vampire, also able to wield anti-vampire weapons.

Kaname Kuran
Kaname Kuran is one of the main characters of Vampire Knight and a Pureblood vampire. He is one of the few pureblood vampires still alive and the first pureblood introduced. Kaname is the ancestor of the Kuran family, one of the founders of vampires. Thousands of years ago, Kaname put himself into an eternal slumber and was recently awakened from his long slumber by Rido Kuran. Like all pureblood vampires, Kaname is immortal and can heal from anything excluding an anti-vampire weapon wound to his heart or cutting off his head. Like all vampires he can absorb the powers from vampires whose blood he drinks.

Senri is Takuma's friend. He works as a model and is quite quiet compared to all the others, he spends his time either working or eating pocky with Rima Touya. Senri's elite power is a blood whip that he makes from piercing his finger, causing it to bleed and allowing him to move it around.

Rima is one of the youngest Night Class students and works alongside Senri Shiki as a model and a close and personal friend. As a vampire, Rima possesses lightning and electricity-based powers. Rima possesses a personality similar to Senri. She tends to expend energy only when necessary, and is usually a lady of few words.

Takuma Ichijo
Takuma is the vice-president of the Night Class. He is an old friend of Kaname's and is very loyal to him. As a descendant of one of the Vampire Council members, he is a high-class vampire despite his usual cheerful and mild-tempered demenor. Being a high-class vampire he should weild abilites, yet he is seen fighting with a sword.

Ichiru Kiryu
Ichiru Kiryu, aged 17. Is Zero's younger twin brother. When they were younger, they were both taught by Toga Yagari to become vampire hunters. Ichiru, however did not seem to have the same talent as Zero's natural ability, and was often ill. Zero and Ichiru were very close as children, although later Ichiru claims to have hated Zero after overhearing that his parents preferred Zero over himself (Only because he didn't have the same talent as him).

Sayori Wakaba
Yori Wakaba, age 15. Is Yuki's dorm-mate and best friend since junior high. Yori seems to be one of the few girls who is not interested in the Night Class. She finds them a bit scary and stated that she would prefer someone from the day class. Yori is also very observant, as she notices a lot of things that happen to Yuki, especially when she gets hurt or is very depressed. Yori's family is a pretty old and distinguished family so she has a fiancé whom she has never met.

Headmaster Cross
Headmaster Cross is (obviously) the headmaster of the school. He strongly believes in peace between humans and vampires. He offers the night class for vampires to educate them in hopes they will promote peaceful coexistence with humans. He thinks of Yuki and Zero as his children, but is usually pretty strict with Zero, since he knows that he’s struggling to suppress his urge for blood.

Toga Yagari
Yagari was Zero’s teacher in vampire hunting as a child. He is currently the top vampire hunter, since the Kiryu family is no longer around. He lost an eye to a vampire attack because Zero pleaded for him to have mercy on the turned human he was going to kill. Yagari was sent to Cross Academy by someone to see if Zero was under control, and to eliminate him if he wasn’t. During his time at Cross Academy, he teaches a Night Class.

I'd say Akatsuki is about 17-18.
He's a noble vampire, an aristocrat, a vampire with a little bit of human blood in their generation line, so they're not really purebloods, but they're deffo not a level E :]
