"You alright?" I asked softly.

"Yeah, just trying not to think," I said.

"Think about what?"

"My past."

"Oh. I see." I said.

"Yeah," I replied.

"I'm sorry." I said.

"Don't be," I said.

"Alright if you say so." I said.

"It can't be your fault anyways," I replied.

"I know. But it's just habit."

"I know," I replied.

I looked at him. "Alright."

"I just want to be clear you're not being blamed for it," I said.

"I know I get that." I said. "But you been quiet since we ran into the girl who was moving in."

"Sorry, I was just lost in thought," I said.

"about what?" I just wanted to know.

"Girls, and my past. When I was younger I would go off to the park by myself and kids would push me off the play set if I tried to join their games," I replied.

"Oh. thats mean. Why would they?"

"They didn't want a kid from my side of town, or even my neighborhood, playing with them. The kids never liked me, I've never had friend until my sister. She was my best friend since I was young, no one wanted anything to do with me like I was sick," I said.

"Oh my." I said. I didnt realized how much he went threw.

"Yeah. Kids would do anything to keep me away and their parents would shout at me, calling me a monster. But this one lady had been different. She tried to be nice to me. Then she got married and had a kid a little after my sister came along. She was the only one who had a kid that could and would be with us," I said.

"Oh. I see."

"Yeah," I replied.

"But It was in the past. And now look where you are." I said.
