Leric was still a human at the time and could sense spirits and control the aspect of air to the point of compressing it around herself and those that threatened her. Upon stopping Kalona from taking Leric, her mother and father were killed but Leric escaped with the help of one of the Benecditine sisters. A year later, she was marked and found by her uncle, her father's brother, Damien and his crew.
