Erik's scene in class

it was awful. whether a person cheats on your or not..physical harm is not cool.
he should have done the mature thing and talked to her about it instead of what he did.
i know he's hurt and what zoey did was wrong. but yeah. theres no excuse what it.

exactly and he was older age wise b4 he completed the change lets see that maturity for crying out loud. idc wht someone has done to you, it is never ok to pull something like he did

I hated (now, still hate) the story of Othello. The scene was intense and i hated that Erik held so much jealousy and anger. I agree with Calico, what the heck happened to his maturity. So what if he's an adult vampire, also considering the consequences that come along with being an adult vamp, he still had no right. Total Abuse.

how embarrassing for her..and erik should be as well.

well at least on his part remember he is an actor and she can act pretty well herself but ya i would have fallen apart if that happend to me

Personally I love Othello. Always have. Always will. I think what happened between Erik and Zo was somewhat necessary to show just how insane Zo made him feel. But as a Full Vamp AND as an Instructor, He really went too far. As far as hurting Zo during the scene, they both needed that. Zo needed to feel how he felt. And Erik needed to realize just how far his anger could take him. (Nowhere good)

i totally see what ur saying and i love you point. if we step back and take out our favoritism of Z then this is totally clear. thanks for throwing this out there

Well he was pretty rude. But he kinda deserved to be. She did cheat on him.

Yep I agree what Spirit Melody said about needing that scene in there for the story and the charcters to progress.

But as to the way to Erik acted I agree it was very immature. Plus acting out a death scene and have Z be the person that was supposed to die, Wayyy over the top. I used to think Erik was a cool guy for caring about Zoey, but now he won't even talk to her and be the mature guy. Plus he's a teacher. He needs to man up and get over his issues. yes he has a right to be mad, but he just needs to calm down and talk to her. I agree with what you said, He's acting really immature.

That's my favorite part in the book!
He didn't really choke her. Didn't do it on purpose. It was all in the act.
But still it's a powerful scene in the book!
Erik deserves to be upset. Zoey did sleep with Loren. And he told her that he
didn't like the way he looked at her.
But he was always right about Loren using her.

I mean I guess he had the right to because he was still kind of mad.

just because you are wronged doesnt give you the right to return the favor

Nobody is perfect. Erik just snapped. Oh and in Othello, Desdemona really does die by Othello (her husband).

Here are the Sparknotes of that scene:

Holding a candle, Othello stands over the sleeping Desdemona and prepares to kill her. He bends down to kiss her once before he does the deed, she wakes, and he tells her to prepare to die. Growing frightened, Desdemona asks her husband why he means to kill her, and Othello responds that she has been unfaithful to him with Cassio—he has seen the proof in the handkerchief. Othello refuses to believe Desdemona’s denial of the charge, saying that Cassio has confessed but will speak no more, since he has been killed by Iago. Desdemona begins to weep for Cassio, which only drives Othello into a greater rage. Wrestling with her as she begs to be allowed to live just a little longer, Othello finally succeeds in smothering his wife. Emilia calls from outside the door, and Othello, apparently delirious, confuses her cries with his wife’s and concludes that Desdemona is not yet dead. Thinking himself to be merciful, and not wanting to have his wife linger in pain, he smothers her again.

Othello draws the bed curtains and lets Emilia in. Emilia informs Othello that Cassio has killed Roderigo. Othello asks if Cassio has been killed as well, and Emilia informs him that Cassio is alive. As Othello begins to realize that his plans have gone awry, Desdemona cries out that she has been murdered. She stays alive long enough to recant this statement, telling Emilia that she was not murdered but killed herself. She dies. Othello triumphantly admits to Emilia that he killed Desdemona, and when she asks him why, Othello tells her that Iago opened his eyes to Desdemona’s falsehood. Unfazed by Othello’s threat that she “were best” to remain silent, Emilia calls out for help, bringing Montano, Graziano, and Iago to the scene (V.ii.168).

Yeah. He had every right to be upset. I'm kind of questioning Erik though...I mean he can change his moods so fast. You don't know what's really him.

yeah..i get that it was part of the play. and that he snapped. but i mean..he got to into it and put a little to much into the choking.but i think he wanted zoey to hurt physically. and he did. which..play or no play..shouldn't have happened.

perhaps there is something we hadnt concidered .....

What's a bipolar? And why would Erik want to cause Zoey physical pain? I mean he still loves her...so he says.
