| The Soldier
The tears won't stop falling
As this sad war goes on
My men are dying left and right
But his are still growing and strong
How do I win a battle I was never meant to fight?
How do I last if I'm losing all my will?
And every second that passes
Just starts a new drill
But no matter how much I teach them
His will always be one step ahead
And by the time I'm on my last man
He's on his twentieth instead
As my men fall down
Wheezing for air
And taking their last breathes
I awake from my nightmare
Only to stare into the darkness of the night
And finally realize that this battle isn't only in my dreams
Because now I'm looking into the light
And seeing the ghost of one of my fallen soldier
Telling me to run
And as I look around
I see yet another one
Then realize I'm living in my nightmare
But this is one I can't awake from
And my first instinct
Is to turn around and run. | |

Just Another
Beyond the hundred smiles and accumulating lies,
A girl wishes to be free,
Free of all her ties.
Her ties to all these people, who only wish her harm.
When all she wanted was someone,
Someone to be aware of her charm.
Someone to be there when suddenly she could smile no more.
And all the lies didn't seem to be coming out,
As fluidly spoken as before.
All alone she sits and prays,
For somebody, anybody,
To cheer up her rainy days.
But no one seems to stick around for her,
And lately anything and everything,
Just seem to see her as another blur.
Just another blur on this picture,
Just another scratch on this window pane.
And until somebod, anybody proves her wrong,
She will be sitting all alone, wishing.

| Kudos. You spoke a piece of my history, a part of my memory, and a forever agony engrained in me. Thank you /bows/, thank you for sharing, and letting me know, I'm not alone. Or rather, that I wasn't alone. I still feel alone at times, still wish for company, still wish for 'real friends'... still wish... still dream... still desire... still long... still....
That's a speechlessly beautiful piece of write. Not too flowery, not too abstract, not too simple, not too short, not to shallow, not too repetitive, just right.
The last stanza, 'And until somebody, anybody proves her wrong/ she will be sitting all alone, wishing./ Wishing that person would just come along.' I'm not copying this because it's my favourite line, or because it's the best part of the poem, I copied it because I am also a girl like that, still waiting, still wishing, still dreaming.
But don't ever forget the waiting, because the fruit becomes sweeter after the wait.
But don't EVER forget the pain and agony, because 'It is the saddest tale that tell of the sweetest thought'.
But don't ever give up, because only with perseverance, will the 'wait' then be worthwhile.
Don't every let grief overcome you, although you shouldn't forget it either. overcome it, but remember it. Because it will teach you to walk further.
And is that meant to be an insult? 'sorry if it sucks' -- it is so darn awesome, how can it suck? Take that off. Now. and I mean, NOW. >< Jk But yeah, iti's a really speechlessly... .... speechlessly.... awesome write. I'm really speechless lol. My vocabulary is dwindling to 'awesome' and only 'awesome'.
Okay, enough of my rambling.
