The Summer of Six Wishes

Six friends, Alice, Kyle, Dylan, Landon, Jess, and Jacob. Six wishes. One summer.

On Dylan's 15th birthday, her five friends throw her a small party and on her cake are six candles. She tells every one of them to take one and make a wish. And through this summer there wishes come true, and they fall in love. With each other.

Kyle kept telling me all day to go over to his house at six becasue of a birthday party. I checked my watch 5:59. I knocked on his door.

I ran over to the door and opened it up. "Dylan! You're here!"

I was already there waiting for Dylan to show up. I was on the couch chilling

I was sitting on the other end of the couch, twiddling my fingers.

"You guys didn't have to do this. It's just another year." I said as Kyle closed the door behind me and motioned for me to come in more.

"But we wanted to. Remember, friends. We do things like this for each other."

Dylan walked in "Happy Birthday." I said happily

"H-Happy Birthday, Dylan.." I said softly with a shy smile.

"Thank you." I said to Landon. "Thank you, Alice." I hugged them both before spying the pathetic excuse for a cake on Kyle's kitchen counter.

I hugged her back gently and blinked. "Erm... Kyle tried..?" I shrugged

"Yeah, appearntly cake shops don't take 'last minute orders' and this was the best Wal-Mart could offer."

"You tried." I said and hugged him. "And it has candles." I hugged Jake and spotted his arm. I took it gingerly in my hands to look at it. "Thanks you guys." I said while look at his arm.

I nodded and looked at the ground, fiddling my fingers.

I squinted at him. I wanted to call his lie but I let this one go. "Well. Le'ts see if the cake is as pathetic as is it looks."

I brought it to the coffee table and lit the candles.

I stared at the candles blankly. I bit my lip slightly and flipped the air out of my eyes.
