I smiled, "So" I looked at him, "Do you have a larger ego then others?"

"So you just want me to hand it over"

i spluttered.
'me? like i'd have got the chance.' i gave her a smile.

'yes,' i said bluntly. 'you know it's what must be done. the job was never yours permanently it has always belonged to phee ... it's her blood.'

I smiled and dipped my head under the water

I sighed, "But it was given to me"

i waited for her to surface.

'until she was ready, she is ready you know that.' i said trying to keep calm, anger wouldnt help anyone here.

I swam under the water and surfaced behind him

"she's still only 17" I said

i waited for a few more seconds pretending i didnt know she was behind me. i could feel her aura pulsing.

'you're not that much older yourself,' i said. 'and you wereabout her age when you were given the title.'

I smiled swimming silently up behind him

"That doesn't mean I'm just going to hand it other"

i let a smile play along my lips and waited for her to make her move.

'either way it wont be yours for long J, at least you'll come away with your life.' i sighed. 'and i want you to be alive.'

I smiled leaning in to his ear, "Boo" I whispered

'boo,' i whispered back and pulled her round to face me. 'got you.'

'until i get better? there is nothing wrong with me,' i said. 'look if i didnt like you i wouldnt be having this conversation would i?' i sighed and rested my head against the steering wheel.

I laughed, "True" I said happily, "You knew I was there didn't you"

"I meant til someone better comes along" I sighed, "Now where are you? It's alot easier to talk to your face"

'yup,' i said. 'you cant hide your aura.' i winked.

'something better is you on a good day,' i sighed. 'i'm in your car and i'm on the road leading to the river. i'll meet you in the forest halfway.' i said getting out the car.

I laughed, him still holding me

"ok" I said, "See you in about 10" I hung up and ran outside, I phased gritting my teeth through the pain and headed off

i smiled.
'perhaps we should get out?' i asked. 'you're going wrinkly.'

i locked the car and slipped into the forest making a quick painful change. i loped off in the direction i'd told him i'd meet. my feet pounded on the ground and i was soon halfway. i skidded to a stop and lifted my head testing the air.

I looked down at myself, "Yeah" I said realising he was right

My feet pounded against the dirt as I ran towards where El said she would be, I sniffed the air catching her scent in the distance as pushing myself to get there

i set her down gently and waded after her. glad i was out of the water and back on land. i should have been cold but i didnt really feel it.

i sat on my hind legs and cleaned my paws while i waited.

I climbed out and pulled my sweater over me, I tucked my wet hair behind my ears

I skidded to a halt seeing her

i stood there with my pale hair dripping and watched her, not rudely just checking she was ok.

i stood up as his scent crossed my path. i looked over at him and pulled myself up to my full height before sauntering over towards him.

I looked over a shoulder now I was covered, I smiled realising he'd been watching..but not in a weird creepy way..Like he cared

I stood looking at her

i gave her a reassuring smile.
'what did you want to do now?' i asked.

i inclined my head toward him. the wolf in me took over and i moved closer and nudged his flank.

I shrugged turning to face him fully, "I chose swimming" I said, "You pick"

I nudged her back gently and sniffed, Phee's been through here

'then perhaps we should move off, i sense your friend and she's not alone, i doubt she'll lead the alpha here on purpose,' i said. i took her hand and led her through the edge of the water and around to the other side.

i nuzzled his side and whined.

I looked down at our hands and followed him, if El and J were close I wanted to move away from them, I didn't want to hear them and I didn't want them hearing me

I looked back to El leaning my head against hers

i gave phoebe a tight lipped smile.
'i'm sorry if you feel we are running.' i told her. 'but it might not look good for you being with me.'

i licked his muzzle and turned, going to a thicket to change. it was painful and i had no clothes with me either.

I shook my head, "It's fine" I said, "From what I can sense it was my cousin and best friend" I sighed, "I don't want to be near them"

I phased once she had moved, she came back her lack of clothes matching mine
