Evan’s heart jumped as he heard Win’s voice above him, not too far away. He stood on the tips of his toes for better projection and shouted, “Over here! I think I fell into some kind of… I dunno. It’s a dry well or something.”

Evan sat on the edge of the hole Win had pulled him out of, breathing hard.

"Thanks," he managed to gasp. "It was... It was really cramped down there." Truthfully, he'd been scared to death that he'd never be found and end up suffocating in the tight space.

i woke up to evan yelling. i wasn't fully awake but i knew the yelling had stopped. I streched and looked around.

i woke up again. this time with a bandage on me. well this sucks i thought i wont be able to draw for a while...and i love drawing! i cant go a day with out doing so

"Hey, Win?" Evan said after several minutes of silence. "How long are we staying here? In the mine, I mean. The humans are still out there... And they know we're here and all..." He clasped his hands together and rested them in his lap, trying to stop them from shaking. "If we go to sleep again, they could kill us...just like that. I'm a little..."

He stopped himself, having almost said "scared".

"I'm a little nervous," he said at last. "Hell, I don't even know if I want to go outside again, after what I just heard. What do you think?"
