| you know what i was thinking, when grandma redbird first droped zoey off and first was talking to Neferet, doesn't grandma redbird usualy have a good first impression of people im just saying, cuz i wonder if she thought something was up with Neferet when grandma left zoey there. | |

| I was suspect that people are not as they seem, particularly in fiction. When Zoey asked Neferet on Night 1 how the vampyres bought a private school to use as their House of Night, her response set off some warning bells in Zoey and in me. I guessed she was unstable, and she most definitely is with her delusions of grandeur and her superiority complex just for starters. I didn't pay too much attention to most of the other signs in the first book, I was more interested in Zoey's "ghosts", but looking back they were definitely there. Zoey was going to tell Neferet about said "ghosts" but her intuition told her specifically not to tell Neferet. Nothing about her friends but simply not to tell Neferet. That was the biggest hint in Marked. | |

| at first when I first read of her, I thought, great person!!! but as the book progressed I started to wonder, even more during those scenes when she lost her temper.....she's extreme....too nice.....too mean lol.

I'll be honest, after reading Marked for the first time I had more than one first impression of Neferet.
My first impression was that she's a good mother figure for Zoey as she's already eager to take Zoey under her wing. But I will admit, I had this niggling thought at the back of my mind which I ignored; Kind of like how Zoey chooses to ignore the strange flashes of emotion that Neferet has every now and then.
My other impression of Neferet is that as a very powerful and beatiful High Priestess of Nxy, she's very intimidating.

| I thought she was very kind and really wanted to make sure Zoe made a smooth transition to the House of Night. But I had a feeling that she was hiding something, and since finishing Harry Potter and learning more about Severus Snaps, I have learned not to take what people do at face value. They can turn on you in an instant. | |
