I hadn't planned on her knowing that.
"I did care for Rose. I really did, and I did want to be with her. But I think I was more drawn to her because of the challenge. She wanted nothing to do with me in the beginning and then there was Dimitri. I think deep down I knew she would never be with me." I explained.
I had never talked to anyone about Rose, not even Lissa.
"With you, it's almost like a compulsion to be with you, to know you."

She looked away. I was normally pretty good at reading girls, but she was nearly impossible. I felt like I was drowning.

I had never heard that before. Maybe that was true, but my reputation was true for the most part.
"Kari, I don't want you to have a false pretense of me. Some, hell most if not all, of the things you have heard about me are true, and I'm not proud of a lot of them. But there is something about you that makes me want to be different. I don't know how to explain it."
I seriously felt like a breathing cliche, but everything I was telling her was true.

I seriously think I love this girl. I grinned at her. I reached out and stroked her cheek. It was so soft. I traced my finger along her jaw line.
"Do you know how extraordinarily beautiful you are?"

"How could you not? You are a goddess." I breathed.
I was thinking I should probably leave before this went any further, but I didn't know if I could make myself.

I stood and walked towards the door. I turned to face her.
"I am glad I got to see you again. I hope you sleep well." I said.
I bent over and kissed her softly on the cheek.

She closed the door behind me. I leaned against it and caught my breath. Leaving that room was the hardest thing I've ever done, I thought to myself.

I walked slowly back to my room, taking deep breaths trying to clear my head. Once back at my room, I collapsed on my bed. I grabbed my bottle of scotch and took greedy gulps. I didn't know what I was going to do.

I laid there staring at my ceiling. Kari, filled my mind...her eyes, her hair, her soft, smooth skin. Her magical laugh, that smile that drove me insane. I wonder why she didn't think she was beautiful. How was that possible?

I found myself pacing around my room. i couldn't get adrian out of my head now. everything he said.. was i true? i was confused all over again.

I wanted to see her again, but it was too late to back over there now. Suddenly an idea hit me. I could visit her in her dreams. But would that freak her out? I didn't know.
