Dreamer's Poetry Contest ( May 9th - May 31st) ENDED

Welcome to my poetry contest!

I hope to continue this competition with at least one more round after this.

Some very simple rules to abide by:
1. Please post no more than three of your best poems for competition.
2. Please include a title for every write entered for the competition. Entries without titles WILL NOT included in judgement.
3. Please place your poem under spoilers if you want viewer discretion. ( this is to respect the younger population on this site)
4. Lastly, HAVE FUN POSTING!

Top three poems will be selected (with no repeated poets).

My Soul's Tears

You cut me deep when you left.
My mind a blur always racing.
Thinking about you, non-stop, all the time.
I can't let you go, because of what you did.
My soul just cries with tears of blue.
Longing for revenge.
For myself, I long for death.
To see all the pain.
Revenge isn't the best path, to visit along the way.
But we all choose the wrong things sometimes,
Just to make each day.
The world works funny.
Especially with love.
And what you add to it with all the tears and blood.
My soul still cries the tears of blue.
Because I will forever long for you.



Life and After life

Death is not always a choice.
We don't always want to die,
because we have to much to do with life.

Life is not always a choice either.
We don't always want to live,
because we have to many problems with life.

Being stuck between the two,
is the most horrid thing in the world.
You could go either way.
When your on the brink of death,
and when your still alive.

Waiting for death, doesn't come and go easily.
It's like waiting for your heart to be broken,
or for you to fall and trip.

You never want to underestimat life and death.
For it is an unforgivable crime.
If or when you don't believe in them,
is the day you are eternally damned.
Damned to a life of hell, pain, and suffering.

Saying goodbye to life,
is no different than saying good bye to death.
It's both hard.
To say goodbye to life, is
saying goodnye to everyone you love,
leaving them and never coming back.
To say goodnye to death is to say hello,
to a life of hell living again.

And when you die,
you notice how nice life was to you,
even with it's downside.
So live life while you have it!
You never know when your going to meet death in the face.

Dark Moonlight

There is only on true night,
of dark moonlight for one person.
It's only one night, never again,
sometimes not even at all.
The night in people's lives of dark moonlight,
is the night that they truely find their soulmate.
Some people don't find their's off of dumb stupid bad luck.
The average person in a life time,
will feel dead from heartbreak more than,
100 times or somewhere close to that.
The most romantic and most lasting night of dark moonlight,
comes to notice on New Year's Eve and Day.
No matter where you are or how far apart,
your mate will relize that you are the one,
or you will relize it.
You will both entirely let it consume you,
and never look back at your decision.
Dark Moonlight is Fine.

Here are my poems, they're short and sweet:

Dangorus
You turned around and faced me,
with your large, determind eyes,
The path that's brought me here,
why is it in disguise?
The truth that lies beneath the surface,
that's what I'm here to relize,
It's not glorious,
you're victorius,
It's just to bad your Dangorus.

In my arms, safe
I remember you darling,
you were so fierce and strong
Your arm's wrapped around me,
Like a humming bird song,
your eyes so unharmed,
Your life and mine conbined,
don't you break my heart,
Don't leave us on the line
I see thease words in my head,
everyday before I go to bed
In the morn I wake up to an alarm,
right after you died in my arms.


Blessed Be

The disapointing day,
Weather wrong, or how,
Is something passed away,
Is ended now,

forgive, forgive the scars,
And sleep will find you soon,
the gleaming stars beneath the moon.

About a week or two left! Still need a couple more talented poets to join!

Beginner

I don’t know anything
Can’t do anything
I’m young and that’s fine
Don’t know anything
Can’t do it right away
And that’s why I have possibilities
The rain has stopped
The wind blows my hair
This is the time
Don’t have to know anything, beginner


Best friend

So many miracles
The time seems perfect
I’m gonna shout it now
Can’t live without you
Thousand words
Like stars on the sky
Life is about chances
We can take them if we want
I wanna be with you
My best friend
Best thing of friendship
Is to laugh together
Thank you for giving me
Such wonderful dreams


Cross the river

Are we dreaming?
All of our life ahead of us
Can’t wait ‘til tonight
We can finally fly
So are we dreaming now?
Tear off the chains
That imprison us
You don’t have to know a thing
We can be reborn all the time

Look the world
So colorful
So soothing
We have to do our best
Just cross the river
You can do it!

Lies that break
I tell them..
But i hate to.
I want them to know
But then they will end my happyness
End my love.
Break me..
What do i so with the kies it told

Cant escape the nigtmare
When i close my eyes i see it
I wake up and cry
They wont end
They come back
Im scared my dream catcher is to full of nightmares
Or that they will come true
I cant run..
I cant escape these horrible dreams
Because everytime i close my eyes...
They're there.
And now im scared to sleep

Things ruined my day already

Talking about it doesn't seem to change anything

crying just is something i don't do

I dealt with things like this before.

Pain, Lost, Hate, Sadness

I know each time i get knocked down

I'll come back stronger then before

Midnight
Shadows in shawdows,
Sea of diamonds,
Layer the skies.

A woman is lifted,
To the highest heaven,
She is the night.

He her cry,
Sing her call,
Draws life in

She'll change you once,
But never again,
Branded for life, as her own.

The immortals song

For years I stood,
Forever i'll be,
Time no issue,
As old as the sea.

They call me wise,
King of medieval,
A bearer of light,
Or a sorcerer of evil?

Chase me away,
But I'll always return,
To my earthly possesion, To this,
She must learn.

Dear participants,

All of your entries are valued and needed in this competition, and there is definitely not one of you worse off than the other in writing. It's just because there's only one judge, and even if there are many, it's because the perception of the judges are different from that of yours -- We all view poetry through a filter known as our life. So through this filter of mine I see something different from what you do, although the emotions may be similar. Fortunately, I managed to get a friend to help me make the judgement a little more fair, the day before. But I guess... Birds of a feather flock together >< So we came to a unanimous decision of the following three Poets and writes.

In the short judgement period, it was indeed difficult to choose between the different poets and their writes. I appreciate all of you for your patience as you await the results of the competition. (Started judging after the last poem came in, which means judging was before the competition deadline. But if any entries were to come in after that last poem, but before the deadline, it will be taken into consideration as well)

Here, I must add that all writes had their own unique feel, styles and forms, which made it a difficult choice to determine the winners as everyone presented their skills differently. Most of all, I enjoyed every write, and I hope everyone enjoyed writing your poems for this contest too!

The most ardous part of the whole competition for me, was the awaiting of participants. As you can see, there was a 4 day break some time through the competition, but it was a great relief that more joined afterwards.

Finally, after such a lengthy disclaimer, the results are as follows:

First Runner Up: Midnight Demon, My World
Second Runner up: Emo Kitty, Moonlight


Once again, I extend my greatest appreciation to all participants of this contest, for without all of your entries, it would not have been as exciting a comptition as it is!
