Prototype

this story is about a guy. Jace who one day is hanging out with his freinds. and falls down a hole. read the rest to find out what happens

Chapter 1

I ran through the crowded streets. I was late. Like always. My friends Jack and Alex were going to kill me. We had planned to go do something tonight. But I had forgot till the last min because of all the homework I had. I was going to have to come up with an Excuse like only I could. So I thought about it as I ran. I got a few blocks when I saw them. “Hey Jace”Alex called. Alex was about average height, not really muscular but you could notice even if you were a guy, he also had dark brown short Hair in that kind of style you see most guys have. “Late again I see” said my other friend Jack. Jack was alittle shorter than Alex, his hair was longer than most guys, it was a light brown. “yeah sorry.” I said walking over to them. They both looked at me. “what”i asked looking back at them. “well because of you we missed the movie. So we have to wait like 2 to 3 more hours” Alex said. I sighed. “I'm really sorry. You know how it is. I'm failing a few classes so I really needed to make the sh!t up.” I said. “yeah yeah. Maybe next time you shouldn't wait till the last min to make it up.” Jack said. “that or actually try to do the work the first time” Alex said. Out of the three of us Alex was somewhat the smart one, and Jack was probably the strong one, and I was just me. “yeah I'll try that next time.” I said. We all started to walk away from the movie theater since there wasn't a reason to stay. “we can for sure find something to pass 2 hours” I said as we walked. We all thought. It wasn't quiet mostly because we were in new york. And no one slept in new your at least not everyone all the time. As we walked my eyes went up to the Buildings. But one Building caught my Attention. It was an old supposedly Abandoned building. As if they read my mind both Alex and Jack said “no”. “oh come on guys you have to be wondering whats in there.” I said. “you know we do but really look at that place it looks like it might collapse at any moment.” Alex said. “and another thing how would we get in. unless you can climb up to that open window. There isn't any way in.” Jack said. I nodded and sighed. “i know. Its just that place seems cool and mysterious and I want to know whats in there” I said. “same with us but doesn't mean were going to.” Alex said. “well alright I didn't say you guys have to come” I said I had decided to go. Starting to walk over towards the building. I herd them coming after me. “fine. Were only coming because we aren't going to let you go alone” Jack said. He had always somewhat protected me. So it was final we were going in. we walked over to the building. I started to look for a way in. they did the same. I kept walking as I looked. I stepped onto a board. I herd a creeking noise. Then all of a sudden I fell through. I hit the ground with a loud thud. I knew at least one of my friend herd it. But I didn't hear anything else past that point. I layed there for a few mins till. I felt a lot of pain on the back of my neck and I Blacked out.

I woke up later. The back of my head hurt. I looked around. “w...wh...where am i” I asked to no one in particular. “why my boy you've tresspassed on my property. You would have died if I didn't save you” said a man who walked out of the shadows. “who are you” I ask. The man was looked about in his early 40's, with gray/white hair. “well I am Doctor Ark.” said Ark. “okay” I said. I sat up. “what happened.” I asked. “well you fell. Through one of the boards that I used to cover the holes.” he said. “how do I get out” I ask. He told me how to get out. But also to be careful. I nodded. Getting up. I walked out the way he said to. I came out a door on the back side. I checked my pocket for my cell. “oh great broken” I said. I made my way around the building to see Police cars, and an ambulance. When I walked out. Alex and Jack ran over to me hugging me. “oh thank god you alright” Jack said. “what happened down there” Alex asked. “i don't really know. I fell and passed out.” I said. It was true but not fully true. And I left out the stuff about the old man. After a while I felt alittle Dizzy. I had to lean on my friends. They helped me into the Ambulance.

Chapter 2

when i woke up again. i was in a hospital bed. but instead of having things hooked up to me like i thought i would. there wasn't anything. so i looked at my freinds and Family. they all just staired at me. "what" i ask. they all looked alittle freaked. "well um Jace the doctor said nothing was wrong with you. " Said My dad. "isn't that good." i ask. i looked around at each of them. "well yes that is Sweetie but you fell through a board. and was passed out for 5 hours." said my mom. "and when we first looked through the hole after we noticed you was gone. we saw blood at the bottom. your body was gone." Alex said. i looked at my clothes that were over on a chair close to the bed. they were covered in blood more at certian spots. and those spots werent bleeding or even any scars there. i looked back at everyone. they looked at me. i wasnt sure what to say. then everyone hugged me. just happy i was okay. so i was able to leave the hospital when ever. so i got up. grabbing some new clothes my parents had brought. i slipped into the bathroom changing. after i had put on the black t-shirt and jeans. i looked at myself in the mirror. i just didnt look the same. i mean i looked like i had always looked but there was something different. something not me. i closed my eyes for a second then opened them. the same. i thought. i took in a deep breath and walked out. my parents said they were going to ground me for a week for doing something so stupid. but it was only from my ps2. which i loved to play. but atleast everything was okay. or so i thought.

later that night. i layed there on my bed. thinking to myself about the past day. and how i almost died but not really. and that one guy who said he saved me. something told me he didnt tell me everything that happpened when i was knocked out. so i wanted to know. i wanted to know what happened. and why there wasnt even a mark on me from the fall. so i got up sliding my hoodie on i jumped out the window. it wasnt that high but would usually hurt my feet when i landed. no such thing happened. i was alittle weired out from that but decided to ignore it for now. and ran off down the street. finding my way back to the building.

as i got to the building. i made my way around. being sure not to step on any stray board. knowing it probly hid a hole under it. i made my way to the door i had came out on the back side. it was unlocked like the guy exspected me to come back. i walked in and down the stairs. down the hall like i did to get out. i found the room the man had been in. i looked through the glass window on the door. to see if he was still in there. he was. i stood there for a few mins before. "you can come in" he said. i was alittle startled but walked into the room. i looked at the man.

the man hadn't looked at me yet. "is there something you want?" he asked. the room was all dark with one of those lights that flicker. "i just got the feeling that you didnt tell me all that had happened." i said. thats when he looked at me. "a smart young boy you are" he said. "so then what did happen?" i asked."well boy i have been working on some things. that would make humans more superhumanish, and when you fell. you would have died. if i hadn't done some stuff to your body. lets just say your a prototype of my work. you should feel stronger and faster, there may be a side affect to it that i am unsure of." he said. at first it was hard to take it all in."so you saying im some sort of freak now?" i asked. "in ways yes. im other ways no. your still the same person you was before. just alittle better" he said. i looked at him. "and what do you think a side affect might be" i said i looked at him. "well im not sure. thats why if anything weird happens. you have to come tell me."he said."okay" i said. "so anything else you need?" he asked. "nope that was all i needed to know" i said. i left the way i had came in.
