"I would imagine, but maybe they realized they can't get to the Carters with brute force, they need to be strategic."

I sat beside Knight and leand into him,my head on his shoulder.I touched the locket around my neck,it was the only thing we both had left of our mom and dad,I sighed sadly.

I looked down at her,"You have dried blood in your hair,"I said softly looking at her.

"Hm. Well not matter what they do they aren;t getting to them. I'll have to be dead in order for that to happen Owen." i said.

"me too" I said

"I'll protect them with my life." I closed my eyes, I was exhausted.

"THos edang things didn't let me get a wink of sleep."

"As will I Owen." I said. "Well get some sleep then . I can watch them for a couple hours."

I sighed as I leand back and ran my fingers threw her hair,"Is there a hose or something close by?"I asked.

"No, I can't, theres too much to bed done."

"Sleep Owen. Forreals dude. Your going to have to be your strongest to protect them." i said.

"No, I can't sleep, Ill find a time to rest, but it is not now." I said stubbornly

I sighed,"Come on we'll go find out ourse;ves."I took my sister;s hand and lead her away from them.

I sighed and followed him,we found a sink thingy in the far back,and he helped me wash my hair out.

"Owen! Go to sleep." i sounded like his father proubly but I didn't seem to care at the moment.

I dried her hair with a clean rag we found then I smiled,"There blood all gone,"I said,"come on,"I said giving her a pig back ride back.

I held on tight.

I looked over to Winter and smiled. She seemed pretty close to her brother. I thought that was a good thing.

I stopped infront of the couch,"Okay let go Winter,"I smiled,"before I burn you,"I teased.

I rolled my eyes and got down,I sat down and smiled,"Thanks for helping me Jamie,"I said.

"Hey I'm older than you so I have to take care of you."

They were lcuky they had family. All I had was a dad who never seemed to be home. I praticly rasied myself it seemed.

"Bu two minutes,"I muttered as I leand back,I sighed.

"Two minutes still means I'm older,"I smirked smugly.

I rolled my eyes,"Whatever... hey wanna see something cool that you can't do?"I smiled as I climbed up stairs and onto a land form,I jumped and snapped my angel wings out,I smiled.

I watched Winter amazed. She couldn't be only mine... I had to share. I was rasied by myself. So yes I had my own toys and didn't have to worry about sharing but with Winter this was going to be a different story.
