By now the whispers were getting louder, to the point where I could hear a voice speaking. Brrooookkkkeeennn, you ssssssssshhhhallll nnnnnneeeeevvvvvveerrrrr essssscaaappppeeee meeeee I flinched as the voice stung my consciousness. It would have been humorous if I wasn't in so much pain. I noticed Ethem shudder out the corner of my eye. My brand/scar.thing issue forgotten for now I gave my full attention back to ethem. "Ethem? Ethem? Can you har me? It's just a dream, you can fight it." I spoke normally to him, i hoped like hell that he could hear me. "Eth.." I had my hand out to touch him on the forehead, I didn't know why it was just instinct, but I retreated. "Ethem, don't listen tot he voices, fight it.."

Skylar just sat back...all she could really do was watch and hope Ethem would wake up soon.
"Hm...ever thought that maybe .. I dunno...maybe you are kind of connected in all of this...maybe your touch would be different? But hey...it could go the other way around and u might snarl at me again...forget it!! don't try!..because this time I might really have to knock you out ...."

Zhane held his breath for a little on the sight of his father. "Well uhm... You said you wanted to talk to me... so uhm... here I am." He smiled slowly, nervous.

"Ah yes, of course," he replied in a drawling tone. Keinar had grown skeptical of Zhane over the course of the past few years. With his constant reckless behavior and need to validate himself through womanizing, the alpha had doubts he could become the heir.

Zhane came inside the cabin and stood like any other soldier would. Even though he was in presence of his father, he drilled him to be respectful and a true soldier. Maybe someday a leader. He was still nervous, and it was shown on his jaw, but he kept a good job in holding it all together.

"Normally I would not skip the formalities, but the situation calls for such," he began, striding towards the desk. "You are aware that your current behavior is unacceptable, and the Elders are beginning to question your position in the tribe. They feel you are not ready to advance."

Zhane took a deep breath. His father was right and he did hear the council debating over it. "I know... I heard" he looked down, embarrassed just by thinking about his actions. "I'm sorry." He actually did feel obligated to apologize for his being himself, whichwas oposite to everything his father taught him.

He looked to Sky out the corner of my eye. "You sure? It might not turn out that way.." Hybris said with a cocky grin. "Like you said you can handle yourself..I wont mind another wound, I have plenty of them already." He rubbed his neck again.

Sky snorted and pinched him..."well u sound eager to receive one from me for your collection...you sound like you have a lot" Sky said while thinking 'one is enough for me...'.....she turned her attention back to the boy. "geez Ethem come back buddy!"
By now she was tempted to slap him out of it but all she could do was sitting there frustrated.

Keinar was tempted to raise an eyebrow at his son's words but he remained straight faced. He had drilled a solider's attitude into him, and as such, he was to maintain that level of calmness. "They are willing to allow you one more chance to redeem yourself, however, after that, you are on your own," he replied, folding his hands together. "Will you accept?"

Zhane took a deep breath and looked his father in the eyes. "Yes". He spoke with determination and this time he means it. He wanted to be the new leader, not an outcast and an abomination to his whole family.

"Excellent," he replied as though he were expecting that response. "How much do you know about Brokens?" Keinar wanted to make sure Zhane would not just galvant off into the sunset with an overconfident mindset.

"It sure feels like it." I answered to the scars topic. I returned my attention to Eth. Boy was he taking a while. As soon as he wakes up I'm gonna tell him not to fall into dep sleep, ever again. I promised myself.

Skylar kept looking at Hybris after what he said wondering about his life story.
She got up "just changing ...a bit cold" ...and opened her backpack to remove some fresh clothes. She would need to wash some soon.....she put on a tight tank top and tight jeans.
That felt better...dry at least. She walked back and sat down on a nearby rock watching the two guys.

Zhane stood proudly seeing his father pleased. His expression changed at the mention of a Broken. "Broken? Uhm.... Not much. I mean... I know the myth you used to tell us kids, but nothing except that. Why do you ask?"

"They are by no means a myth, Zhane. These creatures are quite real. As a matter of fact, there are rumours one is roaming the forests," Keinar replied, locking eyes with his son. "The Earthens are sure to have heard these rumours as well. If they acquire this Broken, they may use it as leverage to gain the advantage should they attack."

Zhane was shocked. He really did thought the Broken was just a myth, but true? Wow, that was something new. "If you need my presence I will scope the forest to find anything" he was determined to help his father in the search. If the rumors are actually true, a Broken on the enemy side would surely do no good to the tribe. He has to help.

"I have also assigned Marat to patrol the forests as well. However, you are not to reveal any of this conversation to him, otherwise you may jeopardize this mission. The Earthen are becoming restless. They have not breeched our borders yet, however, they continue to appear within the safe distance from the line. Soon, they will cross and the treaty will be nullified." Keinar knew the circumstances were not in anyone's favour, however, he was willing to bend the rules. "If you are to gain the council's favour, you must find out where this Broken is, and capture it."

"Understood sir" Zhane bowed his head in a show of respect before he continued "I will do my best to capture him, or her, and bring whatever it is to the council." He fist his hand and placed it over his heart as his father taught him. "When do we leave?" his serious voice did not fit him perfectly, but he did have to change, and he knew his days of being a child were long passed, even though he stalled enough. It was time for a change.

It was almost a sudden transformation within his son, not like phasing, but an attitude adjustment. This pleased Keinar though he did his best to not show it. Zhane had to learn the hard way, as every solider did. "You will leave tonight," he replied, straightening in his chair. "No one is to know of this. If you must tell anyone, you are to say it is just a regular routine patrol."

"Understood sir." Zhane looked at his father like every other soldier would. He has seen many in his time and would occasionally dream to be one of them. This was his time to be one. "Anything else sir" he spoke with his voice steady. His hands behind his back like a true warrior has.

Keinar stood up and walked towards the front of the desk. He faced his son with a stern expression. "No, that is all," he replied, placing a hand over his heart, mimicking Zhane's actions. "This is your last chance Zhane, do not give the council, or me, any reason to deny your birthright."

"Not in a million years. Father." Zhane looked at his father. He slowly turned around and walked out of the cabin. He took a deep sigh and noticed it will be sunset soon. He still has about an hour before the night comes so he decided to take a walk. To clear his mind before the 'patrol'.

Marat finally woke up, inhaling deeply and slowly opening his eyes. He noticed Feisha was still by his side, silent, sleeping. He didn't want to wake her up, but it would be good for both of them to wake up. Several hours of sleep did him good. Filled him up with energy and gave enough time for the food to go to proper places. He leaned to hug her and gently kissed her on the cheek. "Good morning hun" he whispered with a small smile on his face.
