The Fairest of Them All

"Hey baby its me. Did I wake you?"

I rocked Hazel back to sleep and put her down to bed. I turned off all the lights and went to bed.

(night. it's like midnight here.)

I smiled. "No. I've been awake. I couldn't sleep. I miss you so much."

"I miss you too. I've been sleeping alone in this bed for hundreds of years and now with you gone it feels so empty."

"I know. Even my hospital bed seems empty. I miss having your arms around me."

"I miss having my arms around you. But dont worry in the morning I will be there as soon as possible to take you home. The babies miss you."

"I miss them too.0

I relaxed back on the bed. I knew the dr would be here tomorrow. Id have him check out all the babies and shelby. If he had time id let him check out me also....I was so tired but I couldn't sleep.

"I love you.." He looked at the time. "You need to sleep. I'll be there in the morning and Alice is here so when you get back you can talk with her."

I laid in bed and looked at the ceiling. I caughed a few time. some blood came up but I made sure to wash out my mouth and tryed to keep the smell from reaching the babies.

"I can't sleep." I told him. "I need you with me."

"Oh baby." He felt so bad. He needed her too. "How bout I sing you to sleep?"

"It might help..."

"Ok baby." He started to sing the lulaby that his mother had sang to him when he was a child

I smiled and closed my eyes, listening to his beautiful voice.

I looked around and decided I'd go to get something to eat. I walked down to the kitchen with a baby monitor on my hip and got something to eat. some guards passed by and bowed...some talked a little....I just kept eating.

He kept singing listening for the soft sound of her sleeping breaths

I got finished eating and cleaned up my dishes and put them away. I walked back to the bedroom with the nursery. As soon as I sat down Hazel started to cry again. I got back up and held her and rocked her. "Everthing is alright babygirl. don't cry..."

Andrew heard Hazel crying then she stopped. He guessed that Alice had her.

I felt her. She seemed to be getting kind of warm. I took off her long sleeves and long pants and tryed to cool her off some.

I heard Hazel crying and opened my eyes. "Is everything okay?"

I rocked her some...She still was a tad warm. I walked over to the cabnet and pulled out a thermometer and checked her tempeture. I waited for it to read now......

"Let me see." He got up and went to the nusery he saw Alice with Hazel and a thermometer. "Is she ok?" He reached out for his little girl. She was hot. "Shelby I think Hazel has a fever." He kissed his little girl.

I looked at Andrew. The thermometer said she was running a fever. "When will the vamp. doctor be here? A human dr won't know what to do with her...." I tryed to stay calm.
