S.P.O.V.

5 o’clock. My shift was officially over and I had an hour before the movies. I went home and changed into something that wasn’t my work uniform. Leah was sitting on the couch with a smug look on her face. I sat down next to her. “Care to let me in?”

“Sam alpha ordered Paul not to hurt me and so I used that to my advantage.” She said.

I laughed imagining all the things she could’ve done to Paul and probably did. “Well, I have to go little bro.” She hugged me tightly for a moment and then got up and left.

I laid on the couch. Great, all alone for the next half hour. I took the remote to the ancient TV we owned and threw it and caught it and threw it and caught it. I was thinking about lots of things, about the movie, about the up coming wedding, about Leah, about Paul and Leah, about Sam the second but only vaguely, and about life.

I was so absorbed in thought that the remote came down and hit me in the face. When that happened the power button on the remote got hit, “Hello this is Scott with your six o’clock news.” My eyes widened and I jumped up tugging on one shoe while hopping to the door. I cursed when I hit the door and opened it while tugging on the other shoe. I ran to the car praying Sara wouldn’t kill me completely.

I drove like a maniac and made it at 6:10. Sara was outside the theater. I ran over to her. “I’m so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so-”

She cut me off. “It’s okay.”

“I know. I’m sorry though.”

She laughed. “Seth it’s okay.” She hooked her arm through mine and pushed open the theater door. “It’s better than you standing me up.”

L.P.O.V.

Dinner with Sam started out nice but the waitress kept flirting with him. I got a little to mad a few times, mad enough that I started trembling, but Sam calmed me down so we could stay.

As we finished dinner I convinced him to let me split the bill with him since he’d already done so much. He finally gave in and when the flirty waitress came with the check I leaned across the table and kissed Sam. He smiled against my lips but pulled away to get his wallet out. I got some cash out of my pocket and put it down too. Since we paid in cash we could leave and we went for a walk.

“Jealousy is a big green monster.” Sam said as we walked hand in hand.

“And your point is?” I asked.

“You should know I’d never cheat on you so you don’t have to worry about girl’s like her.”

“I wasn’t worried I wanted to kiss you.” I said bumping him with my hip.

He bumped me back “Sure, sure.”

“That was a Jacob phrase.” I said.

“What?” He asked confused.

“That is a direct Jacob Black quote. And seeing as I’m in his pack you know are in debt with me.”

“Um, five dollars?” He asked.

“Money won’t work.” I said smiling.

H stopped and kissed me. “Does that get me out of debt.”

I fully grinned. “We’ll see.”

J.P.O.V.

The blonde chick came out of one of the fitting rooms and looked over at Emmett. “How do I look?” she asked spinning around. He went over and kissed her.

“Hot.” He said.

Alice made a tsking sound with her tongue as she and Jasper came around the corner with a humungo pile of dresses “Back.” She said shifting around the clothing to point at the fitting room she was just in. Alice went in first setting down all of the dresses and came back out as Blondie went in.

“Short stuff.” I said and Alice turned around, surprisingly. “When are you going to try anything on.”

She looked around hands on her hips. “When I can find a store that has my size. This is a more Rose store.” She said gesturing to all of the mannequins, tall, very tall.

“Ah.” I said.

“Jake.” Nessie said.

“Yup.” I glanced over at her.

“I want to show you a pair of sunglasses. You know, for our honeymoon. I want to make sure their okay with you.” She said.

Alice shot her a look. “I swear it’s just a pair of sunglasses we won’t be doing anything else.” She said.

“Uh. Sure.” I said.

“Rose that one looks good.” Alice said as we rounded the corner. There was a small kiosk with sunglasses on it in the middle of a jewelry area table place in the middle of some racks of dresses on clearance.

She picked up a pair and by the way she did it without looking I could tell it was random. She put them on. She kissed me. “What do you think?”

I kissed her. “Nice ones.” I kissed her again.

“I know what you’re doing and you have thirty seconds.” Alice said.

“Until…”

“I make you try on a dress, Jacob.” She said. I grabbed Ness’s hand and ran back over.

“Thank you.” She said. “Ooh Rose! That’s perfect!” She squealed. “Get that one!”

I heard fabric swishing and the sound of a zipper and she came back out in her normal clothes a purple piece of fabric tucked under her arm. “Aw.” Emmett whined. “I didn’t get to see you in it.”

“Good. It’ll be more surprising when you see it on their wedding day.” She said grinning.

Alice grinned wickedly and shoved him into the dressing room blonde chick was just in. She moved Jasper so he was leaning against the door. “Just until she gets ringed up.” She whispered and skipped over to the counter while she pulled out a credit card.

When everything was bagged and wrapped Jasper stepped away from his post at the door and Emmett came out. He immediately went to Blondie and tried to snoop in her bag. “C’mon.” Alice said taking Jasper’s hand. “My turn.” I sighed.

N.P.O.V.

After half an hour of walking we found a store for Alice sized people. The funny thing was is that it was employed by Rosey sized people.

Alice skipped around looking at things and occasionally trying things on. The girls working there started starring at Em, Jazz, and Jake so I said: “They are our fourth, fifth, and sixth opinions.”

The boys laughed and the girls gave dirty looks. I waved them off and followed Alice around. “Omigosh!” She snatched something off a rack faster than I could see and tucked it under her arm. She ran to the dressing room and tried it on. “Omigosh!” She repeated and when she came out something red was tucked up under her arm. She pushed Jazz into the fitting room and propped up Emmett against it.

She skipped over to the cash register and unfolded a blood red dress that probably came down to her knees. It was really cute. “Great job Alice!” I said as she was rung up.

She grinned. “Thank you.” She took her bag. “Emmett you can let him out.” Emmett moved and Jasper came out with an agitated look on his face. He went over to Alice and tried to peek at the bag. Alice moved out of his way. “Nope. No peeping for you mister!”

Now it was Emmett’s turn to laugh at Jasper.

S.P.O.V.

The movie was nice, popcorn and stuff. When I got up out of my seat I had a sudden realization that I seriously needed to pee. “Uh, one second, I’ll meet you in the lobby.”I told Sara before running to the bathroom.

I came back out to find Sara having a giggling fit. “What’s so funny?” I asked wrapping my arms around her.

“You.” She said kissing my cheek.

I laughed and walked outside with her. “Ugh…” I said seeing our two separate cars parked next to each other.

“What?”

“We have to leave.” I said.

“Then let’s walk around the parking lot.” She said.

“What?” I asked smiling.

“So we don’t have to leave each other just yet. We’ll just walk around the lot until we absolutely have to leave.” She said.

“Um, okay.” I grabbed her hand and started towards the right to begin our first circle.

“One condition.” She said pulling on my arm causing me to stop.

“What?” I asked her.

“If we’re walking when it gets cold, you have to hug me every ten steps so I don’t freeze.” She said.

“Okay.” I smiled. We started walking again. When I go to our tenth step I hugged her.

“I said when it gets cold.” She giggled.

“You never know when someone needs a hug.” I said.

Aww. It's true. You never do know when someone needs a hug.

S.P.O.V.

Emily and I collapsed on the couch together. The kids were asleep for tonight, which would last about four hours. She snuggled into my side murmuring something about being warm before she was out.

I wanted to go to sleep, but I couldn’t so I watched Emily. The scars I had made were hidden against my side. Her hair was in a messy bun at the nape of her neck with little fly-aways going every which way. She was so beautiful and everything I wanted.

I started mentally kicking myself in the butt for even thinking that. I had loved Leah way before Emily and I should hate myself for hurting her. I heard she had found someone else, moved on, I should be happy for her but I knew it was still hard for her.

Now I was glad that she was out of the pack, I didn’t have to hear all of her repeated ‘I hate you’s. I sighed and leaned my head on Emily’s. I felt her chest rising and falling slowly and steadily. I tried to match my breathing to hers so I could go to sleep.

All of the sudden my phone buzzed. I answered it, “Hello?”

“It’s Leah.” Leah said. “I know you’re probably wondering why I’m calling you, I don’t particularly like you, as you might know. I just wanted to say, I’ve found someone and I’m happy with him, and that even though I’m still not okay that you broke my heart I suppose that I’m a tiny bit happy for you. Maybe. Don’t press your luck. Anyways, thanks for Paul too.”

“You’re welcome?” I said uncertainly.

“Bye.” The line went dead.

That was weird. I put my phone back into my pocket and fell asleep.

J.P.O.V.

I had crashed on the Cullen’s couch for the night and was sleeping soundly before my phone rang. I ignored it and rolled over onto my side. It stopped for a few moments but rang again. I sighed and rummaged through the pockets of my shorts until I found it. “Hello?” I asked drowsily, my eyes still closed.

“Jake, I need help. Mental help.” Leah said.

“Yes, yes you do.” I said rolling over again.

“Jacob! I’m serious! I think I apologized to Sam.” She said.

“Shouldn’t Seth be handling this? He is your actual brother.” I said.

“I didn’t want to bother him, he’s with his girlfriend.” She said.

“Okay, you apologized to Sam, and the bad part of that is?” I asked.

“I don’t know! Shouldn’t I be mad at him for making my life a living-”

“Leah. Calm. Maybe you’re like accepting him now that you have Sam.” I said.

“But I don’t want to.” She said.

“I don’t know Leah. Deal with it yourself, call Seth, take it back I don’t give a crap I need to sleep. I’m sorry, call me tomorrow or something.”

“Fine.” The line went dead. I knew I messed up but I was too tired to care. I rolled back over and fell asleep.

LOL sleepy Jake is funny

N.P.O.V.

I had found Jake asleep on the couch so I had laid down next to him and fell asleep again. When I woke up my face was pressed against his tummy. I poked his belly button. “Hi.” He said.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?”

“You looked peaceful.” He said.

I rolled my eyes sitting up and running my fingers through my tangled hair. He kissed the top of my head and got up from the couch reaching down to help me up. I let him pull me up so I was standing next to him.

“C’mon your grandma made breakfast.” He said pulling me along.

“Grandma makes me feel old.” I heard Esme say. “Call me Esme.”

“Fine. Esme made breakfast.” He said sitting down on top of the counter. I sat on the stool. Esme put a plate in front of me with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. She put a similar plate in front of Jake.

I had hunted the night before and the blood taste was still in my mouth. I cut a little bite and forced myself to eat it. I groaned after swallowing. I really hated this. I took a tiny bite of bacon. And another. Jacob was on his third plate by the time I finished one pancake and one strip of bacon. I pushed the rest of the food around and slide some of it onto Jake’s plate when Esme wasn’t looking.

After we finished my plate I got up and went outside to sit in the grass. Jacob came out and picked me up sitting me on his lap. I leaned on his chest. “I wish we were married already. We could have our nice little house with our two and a half kids.” I said.

He laughed and laid down pulling me down on top of him. I sighed curling up into a ball. “It’s okay, honey.” He said pushing a lock of my hair behind my ear. “Just a few more days.”

Alice came up causing a shadow to fall on us. “C’mon. Up, up.” She said.

LOL poor Nessie and Jake

S.P.O.V.

I woke up to the smell of sausage waffles. My favorite food in the entire world. Something was wrong. Really wrong. The last time I had sausage waffles was when dad… “Mom!” I yelled.

“Good morning to you too.” I heard her say. Okay, mom, check. I pulled on my shorts and ran downstairs. Leah was the one making them. Okay, she hated sausage waffles.

“Who died?” I asked her watching her stack them onto a plate.

“Someone has to die for me to make me little brother his favorite breakfast?” She asked ruffling my hair and then giving me a one armed hug. She set the plate down on the table at my usual spot.

“Uh. Yeah. Generally speaking.” I said. “You hate sausage waffles.”

“Just sit.” She pulled me to my chair and shoved me so I was sitting down. I took a cautious bite. No poison.

I went out to the porch picking up the paper I scanned the obituaries. No one I knew. I came back in and sat down taking another bite. “Did I make them wrong?” Leah asked frowning.

“No…” I said slowly. They were really good. It took al my will power not to shove them in my mouth and lick the plate.

“Then what’s the problem?” Her frown got frownier.

“What do you want?” I asked her.

She sighed and flopped in the chair next to me. “Fine you caught my bluff.”

I ate while she explained about apologizing to Sam and how she wasn’t sure if it was right or not and what she thoughts she should do (go and tell him she didn’t mean it), and then finally asked what I thought she should do. “I have no idea.”

“Helpful.” She sighed leaning back in her chair.

“Do with what this tells you.” I said putting my hand over my heart and then over hers.

“It’s telling me to hate Sam.” She said.

“Okay don’t do that.” I said. “Try to be friends again.”

“Fine.” She muttered. “Making waffles for you wasn’t worth it.”

“But it helped us bond.” I tried.

“Wasn’t worth it.”

“Improved your cooking skills?”

“Wasn’t worth it.”

“I’m out of ideas.”

“Always are little bro.” She said, ruffled my hair and ran out the door with me chasing behind her.

L.P.O.V.

Seth tackled me and we were both on the ground laughing, him on top of me. “Get off, and lay off the waffles would you.” I said poking his tummy.

He rolled over so I was on top of him. “Happy?”

“Very.” I said getting off of him.

He cursed. “Gotta get to work.” I hugged him tight and let him go.

I sighed and got into my truck. I decided to go to Sam’s house. The second Sam’s house that is. I pulled into his driveway and opened the door getting out.

Sam must’ve heard me because he opened the door and ran out scooping me into a hug. I laughed, “Put me down.” I poked him.

He set me down and I walked in with him. I laid down on his couch, my legs dangling off the edge. He picked me up and laid down letting me lay on top of him. I kissed him, once, twice, three times. My tummy grumbled. “Stupid Seth, and his stupid waffles.” I muttered.

“I’m sorry want some cereal?” Sam asked.

“Please.” I said stretching out the word.

He laughed picking me up and carrying me into the kitchen. He sat me down on top of his table and I watched him swinging my legs back and forth. He stretched up to reach for the cabinet of the bowls and I saw a strip of tan skin and the top of his boxers. I giggled as he sat the bowl on the counter. “Hm?” He asked pouring me a bowl of applejacks and milk.

“Nothing.” I giggled as he handed me the bowl.

“Tell me.” He said.

I shook my head putting a spoonful of cereal into my mouth.

“Please.” He said.

I shook my head eating more cereal.

“Fine no cereal.” He said snatching my bowl.

I sighed rolling my eyes. “Your shirt lifted up.”

“Oh.” He said handing me back my bowl.

I finished it off and sat it on the counter by the sink.

“Love you.” He said and kissed me.

J.P.O.V.

We all had to go to the mall, again. Something about jewelry and make-up this time. They had finished Rose’s and Ness’s so we were aloud to leave now. Ness and I didn’t really have a place in mind to go to so we followed around Rose and Emmett while they did their shopping.

They’re final destination was a woman’s underwear store. Great. “Yeah. I’m not going in there.” I said.

“C’mon.” The big one nudged me in the ribs.

“Nope. I have to pee.” I said and turned leaving to the bathroom.

I didn’t have to use the restroom but I did have a headache and I knew sometimes bathrooms had quarter machines with pain relievers. I put in a few quarters and turned the knob a little package fell out and I ripped it open downing the medicine.

I walked out and back to the store; Ness, Rose, and Emmett came out. Rose was carrying like ten bags so I almost didn’t notice Nessie’s little one. She blushed when I saw it, “They made me get something.” She said.

“Right…” I said slowly. I went over and swung my arm around her shoulders. I could feel the Tylenol starting to kick in but I knew that in a few minutes my body would start burning it off.

“So.” I said.

Ness put a hand over her tummy when it growled. “To the food court!” She said pointing and giggled.

J.P.O.V.

We sat down with our trays; well Nessie and I had trays. Everyone was making idle chatter as we ate. “Oh.” Alice said a frustrated look overcoming her face.

“What?” Jasper asked putting a hand on her shoulder.

“Edward?” She asked. “Does it make any-”

“No.” He said his face screwed up in concentration.

“Will somebody-?” Emmett started.

“Shh!” Edward and Alice hissed at the same time.

“It doesn’t-” Alice started.

“No.” Edward concluded leaning back in his chair.

“Why would they-?”

“I don’t know.”

“But she’s-”

“And they know that.”

“So why are they-?”

“I don’t have all of the answers, Alice.”

“Should we-?”

“That would-”

“Right.”

“Seriously?” Emmett said interrupting their half conversation. “Anyone going to let us in?”

“Well.” Alice bit her lip.

“The Volturi are coming to the wedding.” Edward said.


(Full convo: It doesn't make any sense. No. Why would they come to the wedding? I don't know. So why are they coming? I don't have all of the answers, Alice. Should we prepare for a fight. That would make them think we're hiding something. Right.)

I had a short shift, which consisted of stocking. Which I found out I hate dearly. I came home to an empty house two notes on the fridge.

Great. I flopped on the couch with a bag of chips and flicked on our ancient TV. I watched the cooking channel while I munched on chips.

Halfway through the program and the bag of chips I fell asleep. I awoke the doorbell. I put the chips on the coffee table and ran to the door. I unlocked it and opened it up. “Sam?”

“Seth. Is Leah home?”

“No. She’s at Sam’s house.”

“Ah.” He said nodding. “Can I come in?”

“Uh. Sure?” I stepped aside and let him in. He came in and sat on the couch. I sat down across from him in my mom’s rocking chair.

“Is your sister… okay?”

“Uh. I think so, why?” I asked even though I knew.

“She kind of apologized to me.” He said. “I think.”

“Oh. Really.” I said dumbly. “Well. That doesn’t sound like Leah.”

“Yeah.” He said. “I know.”

“Well. I wish I could help you with that but I was just leaving and that means you gotta leave to.” I said clapping him on the back and pushing him towards the door.

“Where are you going?”

“To a place.” I said shoving him out the door and following behind.
