I smiled and turned off the engine and looked at Mark "What?" I acted as though nothing was wrong. I put his regestration back in the glovebox.

I smiled as my phone went off. Of course not! I mean I was only wearing a really cute dress and a belt today with a new necklace that Mark got me. I didn't hardly say nething to him. He just told me to be careful.

I saw my phone blink again. If you can kick my butt that far be my guest. I've always wanted to be kicked to china *chuckles*

I looked at Mark questingly "Explain what?"

"what f*** just happened? he let you go! and no warning on a ticket next time!"

I looked at him "Seriously I've never gotten a ticket and I get caught speeding 8 times. And that's on a slow day. I know all the cops by first name. None of them do anything as long as I don't crash. When they come to my house we usually party. If the music is to loud they will turn it down but in a car they know it's me and just let me go. I've known them since I was very young. They know my personality and they know me personally. They are my family. They said they arn't even going to bother pulling my car over anymore." I got out of the car and went to open Mark's side.

i was shell shocked as i got out of my car.

I walked him up to his door and unlocked the door. I knew which key and everything. "Oh another payment......Don't tell anyone I know all the cops. Just say he gave me a warning and sent us on our way."

i nodded slightly. i walked inside my house. "thanks again,alice..."

I sent ryan and text. Seriously I didn't. I'm not going home after I take mark home.....

I smiled at her text Yea your balance does kinda suck.

I looked at Mark. "Really it's no big deal. You got out of a ticket today and I saved you money at the hospital. It's the least I can do after you gave me this." I touched the necklace he gave me.

i smiled. "um alice can i have my keys?"

I tossed his keys to him. "Lay down and relax the rest of the day. Im........" my sentence trailed off.

I tryed to smile at Mark "I'll see you later." Tears ran down my face as I started to walk down his steps and twards the graveyard they kept my mother in. I hadn't been in a very long time and I wanted to see her. I didn't even look behind me. I picked out my phone and texted Ryan Wish you were here. I hate being alone.

I ran to Erika's locker when the bell rang and waited for her.

i nodded. "see you around." i closed the door. i took out my phone and texted wendy.

suck it up and take the bus home. im home sick. i threw up in english.

wendy: i read marks text. i shook my head.

i sighed.

yea it is. but i went to the er and they fixed it. please take the bus home.

wendy: nah. im gonna hang with some 10th graders. ill have mom pick me up.

i shut off my phone and went up to my room with a fresh ice pack.

I hugged erika back "I missed you too! It's been so long since we've talked. how are you?"

I got out my phone and answered. No I dropped Mark off at his house. I'm on my own now. Just walking down the street.

i turned my phone back on. i need to text tyler.

hey man. ill be fine. i was messing with ur head at school.

"I'd love to hear you sing! Hold on one sec." It was Mark. Thanks man. I really didn't mean to hurt you. How's Alice? Is she going home?

I looked at my phone and waited for a reply. If you'd like to meet me at the cemetary near Marks house that would be great. I sat down in the front gates and waited for Ryan.
