Do You Have Any Suggestions For The Forum?

I will take a look at the forum rules link and see why it might be saying that...

*UPDATE* I just edited the forum rules as well as the other links in that widget with the right links. Some of the links were old and had been moved to the basket and those who did it didn't change the links in the widget. I might be editing the rules soon just to make sure they are fully up to date.

I believe there are a lot of talented writers on the site. How about giving them some recognition to encourage them?

Instead of lumping all forms of writing together, how about separating them into play, haiku, poetry, songs and free writing since these are the more common genres?

This will encourage forum users to read and comment on others' poetry. The literature section feels quiet as most users don't really comment on others' writes. It will discourage some from writing because they may think 'no one bothers so I should just give up.'

Thing is this isn't a writing site, it's one for the HoN and so those parts of the forum are detailed more. The writing part (Fanfic/story/poetry) is really just an extra part that has a small part to do with the forum (since poetry is a big part of the HoN books and fanfics are just fans ideas...) so we have sections for them but we can't make that section very elaborate because it's really just for a little fun. This is a site for HoN fans, not aspiring writers/poets, sorry.

then how about roleplaying? roleplaying seems to be emphasised quite a deal... (just wondering, because even the roleplayer of the month is featured on the home page).

The reason Roleplaying is put into so many categories is so whoever is in charge of the area can keep track of it and also so members can RP different genres (so they aren't only doing HoN which can only go so far..). RPing is really the largest part of the site (sadly.) In the Writing section you are free to post whatever you want, but you can only have 1 topic per person, or one topic per story, so anything that falls under Poetry should go in that section. Most of the people on this site write and post it here because they feel safe and wanna give thier idea's a try, not cause they wanna become great writer (although there are some people on here who take it very seriously.)

Yes, HoN is a literature, and this entire forum is based on the books. We have had to remove parts of the forum that didn't have to do with HoN because some members were only posting in that section and weren't here for the HoN part.

I suggest we have a regular forum clean-up. The forum is getting kinda messy especially in the literature and RP section.

In the literature section, people are neglecting the rule of one post per person in the poetry section.

In the RP section, there are a lot of RPs that seemed to have died or aren't active... rather, are in slumber mode. No constructive posts for days and weeks. Some died before they even started.

For the RP section, we do have a regular clean up. We give the role players time to continue/ start with their role play, because sometimes the creator might just be away on a trip or something along those lines. But if it has gone a month since the last post in a RP, it is locked and moved to the Unfinished section. I'll go and have a look to see if there's any topics that need to be moved.
As for the Poetry section, I'm not really sure how it works there, to be honest. I'm pretty sure most users have forgotten about the rules that apply to that section, so the best thing would probably be for us to merge the topics together and then send out a mass PM to remind our users of the forum rules. It's not only in the Poetry section people are breaking the rules; a lot of people in the story/ fan fiction section forget to create separate topics for their story and the comments, and there are a some over-creators in the RP section. I'll go have a word with the other staff members and see if we can send out a PM to remind everybody of the rules and guide lines. Thank you so much for your help!

I think I reposted one story... But it hasn't been removed yet.

All sections actually have a clean up, but with the recent changes in admins and mods, most of the sections were supposed to be looked after by people who aren't on the staff anymore. We have just recently but up new assignments for the staff and the sections should be taken care of very soon.

In the next update of the background of the site, Would it be possible for a smaller-ish over head picture? It is quite annoying having to scroll down every time the page loads.
