i laughed at that.
'makes sense,' i chuckled. 'this question may sound odd but what is school like outside of here? i've never been but is it very different from this one?' it was true i'd never been to school and thank god for the internet or i would be truly dumb. i think it was Jared who taught me to read though.

"Well...its not realy all that different...We have classes with teachers, though they aren't as cool as the ones here..Studants who are popular, nerds..outcasts..like my sister and I were..It's like anything you''ve ever seen on a tv..." I said, looking her in the eyes..

'so i've not missed out on much then,' i said returning his gaze. he had nice eyes too.
'do you miss your home at all?'

"No. My mother never really paid attention to us..she was always off on some vacation..and our father...he wasn't really interested in me...Viktoria on the other hand...lets just say he wanted to be close to her once she turned 14..." I closed my eyes, not wanting to scare her.

i took his hand. 'believe me i know what that's like, if i didnt have Jared ... well lets say i was once in the same position and i vowed not to let it happen again . Viktoria is lucky she had you for a brother, you have such a wonderfully strong bond. it's such a good thing to see.' i smiled up at him.

I smiled at her.

"Well, you seem to have the same kind of bond with Jared. And Viktoria and I are so used to being alone with eachother...it's nice to see her with someone. And nice to be able to talk to someone..I've never really been able to talk to anyone about our past..." I touched her hand lightly.

'it is nice to be able to talk after all this time being bottled up. i'm glad it was you i can talk to, i feel really relaxed about it.' i blushed a little bit and chewed my lower lip.
'you and viktoria were my first true friends here,' i said with a smile, staring into his eyes.

I stared at her.

"Well..you are really the first girl I have let close to me...I naver told anyone about our father...Viktoria doesn't wanna talk about it..I don't blame her though.."

'i wouldnt blame her either, it's not a nice thing to remember...' i glanced at him. '...for anyone.' i blinked back my own memories, one in particular that i squashed down as far as possible, the one that was the reason i rarely slept.
'i guess all of our lives were a little bit crummy before we got marked.' i said attempting a smile.

"Nyx saved us..she brought us here to help us." I took her hand and held it.

"You have been...through it...too, haven't you..what my...sister did?"

i squeezed his hand and nodded.
'it was worse than anything i've ever known,' i lifted up my shirt and let him see the scar that ran along my stomach. 'i barely survived.' i told him honestly. 'like i said if it wasnt for Jared i wouldn't have lived long enough to have been blessed by Nyx.' the tear slid out before i could stop it as i tried to shut the memory away.

I blushed. "It's not your fault," I said. "You can stay if you want to..." He seemed so nice, and even if the fact that he could read my thoughts scared me, I didn't want him to leave.

"Well, I Can Block Your Thoughts From My Mind. So I Won't Hear Anything" I Suggested, "If It Makes You More Comfortable" I Said Smiling At Her

"Oh, um, you don't have to, I mean, that must be hard for you..." I said.

I Shook My Head "It's Not Hard For Me, And It's Always Others Before Yourself." I Said Smiling. I Put A Block Up On Her Thoughts "That Will Block You From Anyone Who Trys To Enter Your Mind. Not Just Me" I Reasurred Her
Then I Put My Hand Back Up To Her Forehead "Are You Okay Now?" I Asked

I looked down. "Thank you..." I said quietly. He wasn't the only person I wanted to keep my thoughts from. And maybe that would come in handy. I wasn't going to let anyone get to know me that well. I'd learned from my mistakes. I smiled at him. "I'll be okay," I said. I looked around. "I wonder when my roomate is coming back..." I said quietly, to myself.

I looked down as his cat jumped into my lap. "My life before this?" I asked. I looked down petting the cat and stalling. "It was...." I bit my lip, "different." I said, not sure how much I could say to him, or wanted to say to him.

I looked up at him, not really sure what to say. "I'm sorry that somethng like that happened to you..." I said quietly. Then, I leaned over and hugged him.
