The Summer That Changed Us

I laughed, "Both" I told him, "I'm going to be rich and famous...I could afford it" I grinned


I wandered in, I saw Nick, Amanda and Collins, "Hey" I said walking over with a small wave

"That's good. Set high goals for yourself. Hey man" I said with a smile at Troy.

I walked out of the cafeteria and saw four people talking.

"Believe me yet?" I asked Nick, "and hey Troy.. this is Collins" I smiled, "Dunno if you've met her yet"


"I'm not sure" I told Amanda, I turned too her, "well I'm Troy" I said holding out a hand to shake hers

I stroked my chin again. "Hm....not sure yet..." I said.

I bit my lip and walked up to them.

"Well free to ask more if you want" I shrugged


"Nice to meet you" I smiled

"Okay. Is music your life?" I saw a girl walk up. "Hey" I said.

"Uh...hey" I said quietly.

I shook my head, "Most people think it is, but friends and family will always come first"


I looked over at this other person who'd come over, "Hi"

I smiled slightly. "Sorry if I'm bothering..." I said.

I nodded. "Same with me. The people I love comes before sports" I said.

I looked at Collins, "A girl into sports" I said, "Different in this place.. Mind if I walk with?" I asked, "I'm heading to the soccer field myself"


I smiled, "Best way to have it" I smiled, "If anything else came first it wouldn't be right"

I stood there awkwardly.

I nodded. "Exactly" I said.

"Amber" I said and took a deep breath.

"Nick" I said and grinned at them.

"Uh...nothing really" I said looking at the ground.

"Come on you have to be good at something" I said.

"I guess I'm okay at music...but I'm best at being shy" I said.

I chuckled. "I'm also really shy. But music, do sing or play the piano? Or something else?"

"Well, I sing" I said.

"I play sports" I smiled.
