Blast From the Past (open)

Jack looked at her curiously "Yes...that is my name...how do you know that?" he turned his head a tad and looked at her like a pup that was confused.

I awkwardly let go and backed away, sinking slightly into the water. "What was your friends name." i asked studying him.

"Beiya...Beiya May. She was my best friend until her parents took her away. She promised me we would find eachother again but it has been 15 years and I still have yet to find her...." A tear fell down his cheek as he looked at her. "My father told me a few years back that she was raped and killed. Her body was never found....So I keep these dogtags as a way to remember her. A way to tell her that she will never be forgotten...." Jack swam backwords onto the ledge and pulled himself up out of the water. He wasn't able to keep himself afloat any longer.

My heart stopped all together as i stared at him. Tears were streaming down my face. I didn't know it but i did now. Those eyes were familiar the dog tags weren't just a coinsedence. "Jack," i choked out. "its me, Beiya." i said as i stared at him.

Jack was speachless. His mouth hung open a tad as he looked at her. "Be.....is it really you?" He lowered himself into the water and slowly swam over to her like this was an aweful dream that haunted him. Like she would just vanish before his eyes and he would be left here alone in the river. "please don't be a dream..." he whispered as he pulled her in and hugged her tightly. He was afraid to let go because he was afraid she would vanish on him. LIke long ago.....

"Its me Jack." i said as i clung to him. Tears were streaming down my face, i couldn't believe it, i thought i would never see him again and here i was, in his arms. "It really is me Jack." i said burying my face into his shoulder.

Jack held her close as the tears ran down his cheeks. "I thought I lost you forever..." He said softly as he pulled them both up onto the grass and wouldn't let her go for anything.

"What are you doing here?" i managed to choke out as i clinged to him. I had no clue what was going on. I thought i would never see my best friend again.

Jack chuckled "I live here. I've lived here for about 10 years now. We havn't moved." He smiled as he hugged her tighter. He couldn't believe that she was still alive.

"They told me you would never come anywhere near this area." i said pulling away to look at him. "so i never came this way." i hugged him again. "I wish i would have run away a long time ago, then i would have found you sooner." i said as more tears ran down my face.

"I missed you too B.....but...wait....you ran away? Why? You can't run away. Your pack need you." He pulled away to look at her. He missed her so much that he couldn't stand it but he couldn't let her abandon her pack like that....the pack ment to much to her. Atleast in the past it did. He wasn't sure about how she felt about it now.

"I haven't been home in two days." i said looking at him. "I don't want to go back." i said shaking my head. "Torren is the alpha now and i just can't stand to be around him." i said as i began venting. "He's rude." it was true. I hated life at home, i didn't miss it and didn't care that i was breaking a rule of being anywhere near this place.

Jack looked at her. "Are you sure? I mean you where so into being the alpha...." He looked away some and down to his arm. Something in him wanted to tell her but he didn't have the heart. The boys started to pull on his pants as he looked back at her. "Why did you run away? It's not safe for you to be out here by yourself...." He started to pull her closer to his chest. He missed everything about his best friend....

I hugged him tightly. "I don't care. I'm not going back. I can't." i said. Being there was like a prison. It took me forever just to escape it.l I looked up at him. "I'm not alone." i told him. " And Torren isn't my type." i said as i tightened my haw.

Jack looked at her. "How are you not alone?" He asked curiously.

"I'm with you arn't i." i said looking at him. This all seemed like a dream. Here i was with my best friend. I hoped i never woke up, this was just too good to be true.

Jack looked at her and a tear ran down his face. "B....I can't stay out here and protect you all the time. I...kind of took control of our pack....It's an all man pack now after all these years..." Jack looked away from her as he motioned for the boys to go back to the pack. He couldn't help but worry that B was going to disappear on him.

I stared at him for what seemed like forever. My heart pounded in my head. I clenched my jaw and tried not to let the flash of sadness cross my eyes. "I'm more than capable of taking care of myself Jack, i wasn't asking you to take me in." i said abruptly turning away from him.

Jack pulled her closer to him and nuzzled her neck softly. "I'm sorry if I forget that you arn't the same little girl I use to know....The one I use to protect all the time from the now called 'pack leader'. I just missed you and I'm scared to really loose you again...." HIs voice went soft as he looked up at the sky. "If you would like you can come back with me. My parents won't be happy about it but atleast I would know that your safe and you won't run off again...."

I sighed. "I couldn't do that to you Jack, i don't want things to go wrong with your family." i said as i stared up at him. "I'll be okay around here." i looked into his eyes. "I'm not going anywhere."

Jack shook his head. "No. You are coming. Please....I can't loose you again...I have to know that you are safe and you won't go back to your pack so I have to do something....Please B...." Tears where in his eyes. He hadn't cried in 15 years and now he was infront of this best friend. He coudln't help it. He was a softy when he was around her. He didn't care though.

I took his hands in mine and squeezed lightly. "If your parents disapprove, i'll leave." i said as i stared at him. I pulled him to me and hugged him tightly. My heart was pounding so loud. I couldn't believe after all these years, here i was with someone i thought i would never in a thousand years see again.

Jack shook his head. "No. Even if they disapprove I won't let them not let you stay." He took her in his arms and stood up with her. His arms held her close to his body. She was everything to him. His old friend that he didn't want to loose. No matter what. "Please....just stay no matter what. You can even stay in my tent...." He pleeded.

I wiggled in his arms before wrapping my arms around his neck. I sighed. I clenched and unclenched my jaw as i made my decision. "Fine." i said as i looked at him. "Just know i'm going to feel bad." i said. And i would, our friendship was what tore our packs apart.

Jack smiled as he started to walk back towards his camp. It was a long walk and by the time they got back it was dark and everyone was howling to find him. The alpha being gone made everyone freak out apperentlly. He sighed as he held her closer. "Get ready for a showdown." His father showed up infront of him and started to growl at her in his arms.
