| As the title says. So far I've translated Run Devil Run by Korean girl group Girls' Generation and Otakebi Boy WAO! by Japanese girl group Berryz Koubou. I'll post here my original stuff as well, but so far I'll let you deal with these. Hope you like them.
Run Devil Run
Now stop your games, you’re such a bad boy Just do it now, I don’t care how I don’t know what could’ve possessed you But I'll come to teach you some
Caught you red-handed, so red-handed Run devil devil run run
You’re never home, you think I’m stupid Another play, another h* You always smell like skanky perfume I’m so sick of you right now
The promises that you promised are About as real as an air guitar So watch your back ‘cause I shall steal your car
You better run, run, run, run, run ‘Cause this girl can’t take it anymore You better run, run, run, run, run This time you won’t know what I have in store I wish you’d known right from the start That you were dancing with the dark You better run, run, run, run, run I’ll show no mercy, show no mercy Run devil devil run run
I can’t stand that you just told lies You think I’m not gonna cry Stop that act of super playboy I’ve had enough for one life-time
Caught you red-handed, so red-handed Run devil devil run run
You better run, run, run, run, run ‘Cause this girl can’t take it anymore You better run, run, run, run, run This time you won’t know what I have in store I wish you’d known right from the start That you were dancing with the dark You better run, run, run, run, run I’ll show no mercy, show no mercy Run devil devil run run Caught you red-handed, so red-handed Run devil devil run run
I’ll teach you to mess with me You don’t know how scary I can be You better sail off to the seven seas There’s not enough room for you and me Shut up now, just go long I’ll show you right where you belong (in Hell!)
You better run, run, run, run, run ‘Cause this girl can’t take it anymore You better run, run, run, run, run (Run run run) This time you won’t know what I have in store I wish you’d known right from the start That you were dancing with the dark You better run, run, run, run, run (You better, run run run) Caught you red-handed, so red-handed Run devil devil run run I’ll show no mercy, show no mercy Run devil devil run run
Korean is a tricky language, so I used some other English translations of RDR to make my own version. Hope you like it, though.
Battle Cry Boy WAO! (Otakebi Boy WAO!)
Can you hear the battle cry of the fighting guys? Oh WAO WAO! Oh WAO WAO! Can you see the depression of troubled guys? Oh WAO WAO! Oh yeah battle cry!
Almost nothing goes the way we plan That’s just how it is; everyone endures
You’re not the only one with hard luck Pull the good luck towards yourself Nobody will do it for you Gotta do it yourself!
Spark Boy! Hey, just gather up all the love you have Spark Boy! And produce an amazing power right now
Smack in the middle of this Earth, do it right now Start shining! Like lightning! Can you see? With a crash of thunder, a mysterious future Is coming your way
The elaborate plans of guys who dream Oh WAO WAO! Oh WAO WAO! The irritation of guys who did too much Oh WAO WAO! Oh yeah battle cry!
I get a fever before this trip day That’s just how it is; it’s how life works
You’re not the only one with bad luck Good luck is equal to all Keep piling it up patiently Chance is ahead of you!
Spark Boy! The more love the better ya feel Spark Boy! And witness the birth of an amazing star
Don’t matter where you are on this world Be as radiant as the lightning! Tomorrow, with a crash of thunder, the Victory Goddess Is waiting for you
This was easier as I do know a little Japanese myself. Then again I did use some other English translations to help.
I'm more of a story writer, so poems are new to me. Actually I'm quite bad at writing poetry, but hey, a writer has to try also hard things. Anyway, I hope you'll like these translations. I do not own either of the songs, I translated them just for my own fun. Run Devil Run belongs to Girls' Generation and SM Entertainment, Otakebi Boy WAO! belongs to Berryz Koubou and Up-Front Agency.

| Okay, here's some of my own compositions. One with a name, one without a name and one haiku.
In my garden Greek lilac, sakura tree Growing together
Are we dreaming? All of our life ahead of us Can’t wait ‘til tonight We can finally fly So are we dreaming now? Tear off the chains That imprison us You don’t have to know a thing We can be reborn all the time
Look the world So colorful So soothing We have to do our best Just cross the river You can do it!
Beginner
I don’t know anything Can’t do anything I’m young and that’s fine Don’t know anything Can’t do it right away And that’s why I have possibilities The rain has stopped The wind blows my hair This is the time Don’t have to know anything, beginner
"Beginner" was loosely inspirated by a song by AKB48 of the same name.

| I tried akb48 it was wayy too messy for my poor ears with so many voices. I like hearing each singer's voice clearly. Both poems are great for a headstart. And you sure are awesome to know english, jap and korean all at once! KUDOS!
And i look forward to more od your original writes!
'D greatly appreciate if you could visit my thread to leave a comment.

| Well, thank you, *~Dreamer~*, I actually don't know much Korean, just some words, so the translation isn't very accurate. I did have other translations while I worked on RDR. Most importantly I tried to make it sound good so that one could sing it in English. Otakebi translation was easier because I didn't have to rely on other people's translations so much (though I needed some to check annoying words and expressions). | |

The haiku is roughly about two very different people falling in love.

| I love the haiku. very vivid imagery. I guess that's the whole point of a haiku. But yes, I get BOTH an eerie and warm feeling about it. Green lilac and sakura trees are both positive and bright, but when put together... I feel it becomes a little eerie because I tend to imagine overgrowth. >< still, it's beautiful.
For the poem without a title, 'Just cross the river/ you can do it' those lines really can push someone to live on. Very powerful write you have here. (: Very true indeed, 'we can be reborn anytime' -- provided that we WANT to be reborn... and if you have the time and youth to do so. When you get old... expectations become ingrained and inert.. and you cannot evade or reborn anymore... because no matter how you reborn, you'll still be stuck in the same situation... if you're reborn to that same age.

| Waa, thank you. Y'all make me blush! Okay, here's some new stuff.
Roses
A beautiful flower Red? White? Pink? It doesn’t matter The smell is wonderful But careful The stings hurt A drop of blood pours down
Best friend
So many miracles The time seems perfect I’m gonna shout it now Can’t live without you Thousand words Like stars on the sky Life is about chances We can take them if we want I wanna be with you My best friend Best thing of friendship Is to laugh together Thank you for giving me Such wonderful dreams
I was thinking of my best friend when I wrote the second poem. The first was a random thing I composed during a boring French class^^ But it turned out okay. But, anyway, Best friend is imo one of the best poems I've composed so far. I really couldn't live without my BFF. She's an amazing person. She always makes me smile and laugh.

| Roses are indeed beautiful. But what are roses without their thorns? Everything that is beautiful needs something beneath that hurts and isn't all the beautiful to protect it. I think it is an apt approach to looking for friends.
It's good you have a best friend... I never dared make anyone my best friend... I always keep some distance away... from everyone. I frequent betrayal... Betrayal is almost like a shadow, and loneliness is like a friend. You can find company in being alone too... Maybe I'm going crazy? ahha, but all's well for the moment, at least i still have friends... i fall silent when i hang out with friends, like some third party.

| Thanks y'all. It's nice you like my poems. This one was written last night when the Finnish Lions finally won gold in ice-hockey world championships. 16 years and now we did itWe did it We won After 16 years We got gold The Three Crowns Fall hard The Lions roar They happy Black behind the Lion’s back Only once Got behind the Crown’s back Six times We waited Waited so hard Finally Granted It slides in To the goal again Excellent players And the best goalkeeper Our Lions Are wonderful They roar So let’s have fun Yes, last time we won gold it was 1995. I was one back then, so I don't remember anything. But as it was then, this year we played against Sweden, and we won them. 1-6 for Finland. I don't remember when I've been so happy last time. It was amazing. All our players were great, especially our goalkeeper, Petri Vehanen, and the absolutely best players ever, Jarkko Immonen, Mikael Granlund (who did also the best goal against Russia), Juhamatti Aaltonen and Mikko Koivu. | |

| It sure does convey the sense of happiness... you know... like winning the best school for the first time in a competition. I think that's probably similar to this, just a smaller scale event.
maybe instead of 'waited so hard', you could use 'waited to long'. because it sounds odd to use 'hard' in this context. though i do get what you mean.
keep writing and posting!

| Okay, here goes another song translation, this time of Matsuura Aya's beautiful 100kai no Kiss. Hope you like it. It's not a straight translation. 100th KissDon't come to my heart yet It's not like I'd hide anything Like other people I just don't find the words Don't peak at me so much It's not like I didn't like it But we don't know Everything about each other yet Guess it's better it went this way It's just that I'd want... well, never mind That day my feelings Were such a mess, I'm sorry If we kiss one hundred times it won't be enough Tell me one hundred times that you love me I'll surely laugh a hundred times and Forgive you truly Yes, my love story From the day we met for the first time I have learned so much I feel like I'd also Changed the way I speak Those days I was alone There were so many things inside me Nobody truly knows Who I really am I guess it's better that I don't speak of it It's just that I'd want... well, never mind Why do all these tears Just pour down? If we kiss one hundred times, I'll surely Dream of you one hundred times For sure I'll finally tell you Kiss me in my dreams one hundred times Yes, my love story If we kiss one hundred times it won't be enough Tell me one hundred times that you love me I'll surely laugh a hundred times and Forgive you truly Yes, it's my love | |

| I did not rite this. but it is my faverate poam ever. It is The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes
THE wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees, The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas, The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor, And the highwayman came riding— Riding—riding— The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door.
II
He'd a French cocked-hat on his forehead, a bunch of lace at his chin, A coat of the claret velvet, and breeches of brown doe-skin; They fitted with never a wrinkle: his boots were up to the thigh! And he rode with a jewelled twinkle, His pistol butts a-twinkle, His rapier hilt a-twinkle, under the jewelled sky.
III
Over the cobbles he clattered and clashed in the dark inn-yard, And he tapped with his whip on the shutters, but all was locked and barred; He whistled a tune to the window, and who should be waiting there But the landlord's black-eyed daughter, Bess, the landlord's daughter, Plaiting a dark red love-knot into her long black hair.
IV
And dark in the dark old inn-yard a stable-wicket creaked Where Tim the ostler listened; his face was white and peaked; His eyes were hollows of madness, his hair like mouldy hay, But he loved the landlord's daughter, The landlord's red-lipped daughter, Dumb as a dog he listened, and he heard the robber say—
V
"One kiss, my bonny sweetheart, I'm after a prize to-night, But I shall be back with the yellow gold before the morning light; Yet, if they press me sharply, and harry me through the day, Then look for me by moonlight, Watch for me by moonlight, I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way."
VI
He rose upright in the stirrups; he scarce could reach her hand, But she loosened her hair i' the casement! His face burnt like a brand As the black cascade of perfume came tumbling over his breast; And he kissed its waves in the moonlight, (Oh, sweet, black waves in the moonlight!) Then he tugged at his rein in the moonliglt, and galloped away to the West.
PART TWO
I
He did not come in the dawning; he did not come at noon; And out o' the tawny sunset, before the rise o' the moon, When the road was a gypsy's ribbon, looping the purple moor, A red-coat troop came marching— Marching—marching— King George's men came matching, up to the old inn-door.
II
They said no word to the landlord, they drank his ale instead, But they gagged his daughter and bound her to the foot of her narrow bed; Two of them knelt at her casement, with muskets at their side! There was death at every window; And hell at one dark window; For Bess could see, through her casement, the road that he would ride.
III
They had tied her up to attention, with many a sniggering jest; They had bound a musket beside her, with the barrel beneath her breast! "Now, keep good watch!" and they kissed her. She heard the dead man say— Look for me by moonlight; Watch for me by moonlight; I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way!
IV
She twisted her hands behind her; but all the knots held good! She writhed her hands till her fingers were wet with sweat or blood! They stretched and strained in the darkness, and the hours crawled by like years, Till, now, on the stroke of midnight, Cold, on the stroke of midnight, The tip of one finger touched it! The trigger at least was hers!
V
The tip of one finger touched it; she strove no more for the rest! Up, she stood up to attention, with the barrel beneath her breast, She would not risk their hearing; she would not strive again; For the road lay bare in the moonlight; Blank and bare in the moonlight; And the blood of her veins in the moonlight throbbed to her love's refrain .
VI
Tlot-tlot; tlot-tlot! Had they heard it? The horse-hoofs ringing clear; Tlot-tlot, tlot-tlot, in the distance? Were they deaf that they did not hear? Down the ribbon of moonlight, over the brow of the hill, The highwayman came riding, Riding, riding! The red-coats looked to their priming! She stood up, straight and still!
VII
Tlot-tlot, in the frosty silence! Tlot-tlot, in the echoing night! Nearer he came and nearer! Her face was like a light! Her eyes grew wide for a moment; she drew one last deep breath, Then her finger moved in the moonlight, Her musket shattered the moonlight, Shattered her breast in the moonlight and warned him—with her death.
VIII
He turned; he spurred to the West; he did not know who stood Bowed, with her head o'er the musket, drenched with her own red blood! Not till the dawn he heard it, his face grew grey to hear How Bess, the landlord's daughter, The landlord's black-eyed daughter, Had watched for her love in the moonlight, and died in the darkness there.
IX
Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky, With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were his spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat, When they shot him down on the highway, Down like a dog on the highway, And he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat.
X
And still of a winter's night, they say, when the wind is in the trees, When the moon is a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas, When the road is a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor, A highwayman comes riding— Riding—riding— A highwayman comes riding, up to the old inn-door.
XI
Over the cobbles he clatters and clangs in the dark inn-yard; He taps with his whip on the shutters, but all is locked and barred; He whistles a tune to the window, and who should be waiting there But the landlord's black-eyed daughter, Bess, the landlord's daughter, Plaiting a dark red love-knot into her long black hair.

i almost thought that was your band until i remembered it was a cover. their dance isn't too bad, but what band is that? Yay, thanks. As I said, I don't speak any Korean, so it may be that. Japanese on the other hand is easy to pronounce for Finns, so it sounds more natural. (Also my mic isn't the best one there is...) That band is ℃-ute. They don't have seven members anymore, two of them left the group a year or two ago. And wolfboy4654, please make an own topic for your poetry, okay? Anyway, here's a new poem of mine. I wrote it yesterday after reading a book about ancient Egypt, so I got inspired. Hope you like it. Hot sand under my bare feet Pyramids are distant The setting sun makes The sand go all red Like fresh blood From ancient battles Thinking of the pharaohs of the past I find myself by the River Nile I close my eyes And imagine Maybe three thousand years ago Two lovers were there And swore eternal love To each other Maybe the pharaoh himself Pledged his faithfulness To his future queen there By the riverbend Feeling the hot sand Under their bare feet Feeling the gentle wind against my face I watch the setting sun Behind the pyramids The night falls I see all the stars And the moon rises It's quiet I hear the crickets It's peaceful I feel complete happiness

| xD Yeah, I've never been to Singapore, but I know it's hot there^^ Okay, here goes another song translation, this time of Morning Musume's beautiful song Tomo (starts at 0:56). It means "Friend", and I just love the song♥ It's so beautiful and the lyrics are so meaningful. Here's the translation (this time I had almost no help at all, except for some strange words). Tomo - FriendLet me tell you honestly I’ll make it fun Never let go Of my hand, okay? Forgiving and forgiven Let’s have big hearts Making friends with Everyone we meet Even though We’re far apart No need to worry There’re things we’re able to do I love you so much Let’s always be friends Even when we get old And have grey hair Let’s be nice to each other Let’s always be friends And sometimes strictly tell me off HELLO HELLO Okay, let’s start! HELLO HELLO Okay, let’s start! I’ll tell you with a smile I’ll be nice to you I’ll always be here It won’t change ever Everyone is allowed To make mistakes So let’s make up For all of them now Like when I first fell in love My chest hurts But I won’t run away Proving that I’m alive Sure we can understand each other I mean, we’re friends forever Even if some things Don’t go well from the beginning Believe in yourself Feel the destiny So that you won’t get caught in the flow of time HELLO HELLO Okay, let’s start! HELLO HELLO Okay, let’s start! I love you so much Let’s always be friends Even when we get old And have grey hair Let’s be nice to each other Let’s always be friends And sometimes strictly tell me off Sure we can understand each other I mean, we’re friends forever Even if some things Don’t go well from the beginning Believe in yourself Feel the destiny So that you won’t get caught in the flow of time HELLO HELLO Okay, let’s start! HELLO HELLO Okay let’s start! | |

| It is a sweet song, one of my favorites^^ Okay, another song cover. Ame no Furanai Hoshi dewa Aisenai Darou? And I might as well translate it. We Surely Couldn't Love on a Planet with no Rain, Could We?Living in the city There's a lonely feeling among the confidence Dreams in my dreams The reality just gets in the way Let's live in harmony Let's live peacefully We can just share Each and every life We surely couldn’t love each other On a planet where no rain fell, could we? We live on this planet So that we can pass the knowledge on So that the planet won't be One with no land We'll sing As loud as we can In my hometown My parents are still doing well in their old age It even feels kinda good sometimes When they lecture me on the phone Let’s go through smiling Let’s stay healthy And live a great life For 100 years or so We surely couldn’t become gentle On a planet with no sadness, could we? There is no need for us To hate anyone at all So that the planet won't be One with no dreams We'll sing As loud as we can If there was no rain on this planet Then we wouldn't have a reason to fall in love We must work hard in life And leave all that is precious to the future generations If it wasn't for the ground It wouldn't be the beautiful planet we all love We'll sing as loud as we can To send out our love We surely couldn’t love each other On a planet where no rain fell, could we? We live on this planet So that we can pass the knowledge on So that the planet won't be One with no land We will sing With our hearts There was a Chinese part to which I couldn't translate myself, so I used a translation I saw in a subtitled live version of this song. | |
