Ironic (1x1)

I pulled back. "The first doctors appointment is in 3 weeks."

I decided that sitting there and waiting was not productive. I got up and went to my in home office and started working on an event

I nodded. "Alright, i'll make note of that." i said trying to keep my smile.

I smiled up at him and stepped back. "You want something to eat?" i asked

I ran my hand through my hair. "Yeah sure." i smiled at her.

I walked to the fridge and opened it looking for something to make.

I leaned against the counter and watched her. i didn't know what to do.

I made breakfast. Pancakes, bacon, all the shebam

I was so conflicted. I wasn't just going to leave her when we had a child on the way. I was raised better than that. But my heart didn't belong to her anymore.

I smiled over at him, and handed him a plate.

I sat there and looked at the clock... if he was telling her he wanted a divorce wouldn't he aleast call me and tell me how she was taking it... Or if he was coming back?

I took the plate from her. "Thanks." i said with a light smile and sat back down at the table with the plate. I stared down at the food for a few moments.

I nodded and started moving the food around with my fork.

I sat there and waited. What was taking him so long

I stared at Kays number on my phone. I didn't know if i should tell her or not.

I got a little done but not something I would have got done if I wasn't distracted. "Why hasn't he called?" I asked out loud in frustration.

I decided it was best not to tell her. At least not yet, i just couldn't.

I sighed and went back to work I needed to distract myself. I couldn't sit there like a love sick school girl and wait for him to call.

I decided to text her, so at least she knew a bit of what was going on without her having to know completely. Still haven't told her...

I picked up my phone and read the message. Why?

Something came up I didn't know what else i could say.

Oh okay. Was all I said.

I stared at her text for a long time.

I got into the shower and looked down at my flat stomach. I put my hand there and smiled. "We're going to be a family." I said as a tear came to my eyes.

I got up I couldn't just sit here and wait. I can't believe he texted me. Ugh! I looked around for something. I was almost finished planning so I didn't have to do that anymore.

I got up from the table, picking up my untouched food and put it in the trash. I felt bad, no terrible. I didn't know what to do.

I went back to bed and pulled the pillow he was sleeping on towards me. I could smell him on it. I sniffled and closed my eyes.
