Dark Score House of Night(started but still open)

He sensed her in pain, he panicked when the door was locked and kicked it down.

I kept reaching for it but I only keot getting burned worse.

"Alaina! Are you insane?! " he yells and pulls her back, he closes the curtains and his eyes adjust immediately to the dimness. He looks at her hands "god damn it, when do you learn to stop?" he says

I looked at him. I didn't want to say anything to him. I didn't want to stop, I'd rather be standing out there right now than sitting here.

He takes her hands and bandages them up "I feel like I'm looking after a child. A masochistic child."

I looked down. I didn't like being called a child, but in this situationg it made me sad again unlike before.

"you claim to be a high priestess, well start acting like it!" he said sharply.

I just felt even worse. He wasn't helping me. I was trying to be one right now by not breaking down and crying in front of him. I didn't want him to see that.

He looks at her and immediately regretted what he said. But she needed to hear it, he told himself. "what the hell were you thinking?" he said "this could have been so much worse if I hadn't broken down that door." he says

I still kept trying to hold it back. I was really not needing to hear this. I knew h was right but I just couldn't deal with the truth right now.

"Jesus Alaina say something before I flip out."

I shook my head. If I said something then I would start crying. I don't want to.

He stood up "fine." he walked out and to his room. He undressed and got into bed, leaving his door open.

I felt one slip out and I couldn't stop.

He tried to sleep but ended up laying there staring at the ceiling.

I was emotionally exhausted but I refused to sleep tonight.

He laid there, playing with the cloth his hand was bandaged with, thinking.

I sat against the headboard of the bed thinking.

He sighs and rolls over, trying to fall asleep.

I sighed knowing that I wouldn't sleep tonight so I grabbed a piece of paper and started writing on it. I planned to leave it for him in the afternoon when I could leave. I promised the Teachers I wouldn't say anything about the arrangement, but I never said I would write about it. The note basically read:
You should know that I wanted to come to you the moment it happened. I wanted to talk to you after all the ceremonies had been done, but the teachers threateneed me that if I didn't stay away from you or at least have a coworker kind of relationship with you you would be fired. I knew you didn't like the idea when I said I'd help you get rid of your girlfriend so I thought it still stood. I wasn't supposed to tell you and now I feel quilty for what they made me do.
I felt like there was nothing more I could say. I thought he should know the truth and that's the truth. I read over it to be sure it was all good.
(or he could come in while she looks over it)

He sensed she was still up, so he walked to her room and stood in her doorway " you're up" he says, watching her.

I looked at him. "I can't sleep with a quilty conscience, and knowing that you think I wanted this. I wrote this so you could know the truth without me breaking a promise and telling you." I held out the paper to him hoping he'd take it.

He slowly walks in her room and takes it. He paces in the room while reading it. When he's finished he sighs and looks at her, he didn't know what to say. He sets the letter down " so what do you think they're Gunna say when they find out you're living with me?"

"I don't know, but I only hope they can believe that I'm in danger. They only said that because they think we were sleeping together that night and not just making out like I said. They possibly won't be able to say anything now that I'm fully registered though." I said.
