I say Erik has every right to be angry at Zo because she's hurt him a lot. and he just wanted her to understand what he felt and that was the only way for her to really see what was on his mind. But it was a little too extremem though

He didn't hurt her physically, it was part of the scene and they had to go alnong with the script but yet improve too. But yeah he did have every right to be mad. But I think he didn't the scene to show her how he really felt because it seemed like she never really took anything he had to say to heart when they were alone [before the break up]. So he figured thi swas the only way to get her to see what he's going through.
