What is an appropriate age to start reading House of Night series?

Id say anybody 10 or older would be a good age to read them.

It is a good series there is a lot of sex as everyone has mentioned. and also as one of the others pointed out there are alot of big words in the series im 19 and when i read the books at chrismas time last year. i didnt understand a few of the words. i would suggest reading them for yourself becaus emy mom didnt let me read sexual stories intill i turned abou 16 but even before then she never really cared. so i would read the series and if you like it and think its good then you should let her read it. but if its to much just put them away intill she gets older.

ive only just read the full series the passed few weeks and im 20, but personally id say anyone 13/14 is ok to read them. They arent really overly detailed

Yeah its not like it has full detail like most romance novels their detail is pretty minor to it. If you want you can read them first and im 19 ad started reading them last christmast andjust finshed tempted now im waiting to read burned. but its an awesome series.

I was 11 when i read my first house of nnight book and i had no trouble with it

Its a good series and i hope you like it and enjoy it most librays i go to now adays ask me what series is great thing to recommanded and i always say the house of night series and the lj smith books are good

I've never agreed with putting an age to read a book or watch a movie
I think people are different and they become mature in different ways, time... etc

And I didn't think the blowjob scene was gross, it just says that Zoey saw a girl trying to give a boy a blowjob, nothing else

And about the scene of sex in the third book... that's soooooo not a sex scene...
It just says that they made love, nothing else...

But taking into account all those scenes (and apart from this two there are others with the almost-ex-boyfriend.. ), I guess, if a had to put an age, I would say it should be something between 13 or 15 to start, BUT I REPEAT that depends on the person, not on the age

It's based on where you live.
But for me kids start to cuss in 5th grade. (Not me)
And talk about sex in 6th.
And also do drugs in 7th.
Now this isn't all, but most.
So for me I'm used to the sex and cussing.
So I don't see much wrong.
But then your the parent.
Only way to take those out of life.
