L.P.O.V.

I hadn’t seen the other Sam since that day eight months ago. I sat down on the same beach now; maybe just maybe I’d see him again. Thanks to my mom I had on a huge floppy hat and sunglasses so he’d never recognize me, ever.

I was starting to give up hope and began to pack up my towel and suntan lotion when I saw him out of the corner of my eye. Since he couldn’t recognize me I decided to get a good look at him, he was tall but not to tall, muscular but not body-builder so, he was naturally tan and had unruly black hair that matched his dark black eyes that are now covered by shades. He’s wearing his school sweatshirt with gray sweatpants rolled up to his knees.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. I thought to myself as I ran over to him. “Hey stranger.” He grinned pulling off my hat and setting it on his head.

“You remember me?”

“How could I not forget the beautiful lady that appeared in my running group almost a year ago?” He countered.

I laughed throwing my head back “Race ya!” I shouted sprinting ahead.

He caught up within a few minutes and started to pass me and then… He wasn’t there.

I’d raced a good four or five yards ahead by the time I processed this. I turned around and saw him laying face first in the sand. I quickly raced over and checked for a pulse, it was there but I couldn’t tell if it was good or bad.

I thought about picking him up and carrying him to my truck but I was too small looking and he’s too big looking. I ran and grabbed my bag and rummaged through it looking for something, anything. Keys, chap-stick, hair-tie, towel, sun screen, tanning lotion. Nothing to save a life.

I knew CPR but I that didn’t appear to be what he needed. I was starting to panic when Seth walked by. “Seth. Help. NOW!”

“Right.” He helped me pick up Sam and carried him towards my car.

“Seth drive.” I slid my beach bag off my shoulder and threw it at him moving Sam into the back seat of the truck. I laid Sam’s head on my lap as Seth started to pull away towards the hospital. Please, God, let him be ok.

Seth’s. P. O. V.

I pulled out towards the hospital and kept driving. I kept looking in the rear-view mirror at Leah and the other guy. Leah looked really worried and other guy looked really not conscious. If Leah, the girl who turned hard on the world after Sam dumped her, was worried, it was something worth worrying about.

I pushed her truck a little faster and kept an eye out for police cars. I looked in the rear-view mirror again and this time his eyelids fluttered “Le… Le…” I know the guy was trying to say her name and didn’t mean anything by it but I saw a look of hurt flash through Leah’s eyes. I gripped the steering wheel tighter and pushed the truck faster.

We reached the hospital in record time. I jumped out of the truck and came around to help Sam out. Right then would’ve been an awesome time to have one of those gurney things but of course nothing ever goes right. I helped Leah get him through the doors and then she explained to a nurse what happened, it sounded like an edited version though, people don’t just find other people collapsed on beaches. The nurse wheeled a gurney towards me and I laid Sam on it. They started sticking stuff in him and poking him and asking us about his name and such. I told them that I didn’t know a thing and Leah just knew his name was Sam. She grabbed my hand and sunk her fingernails into my flesh. “Ow, what’d I do?”

“Sorry,” she said and let go of my hand. I squeezed her shoulder gently “He’ll be ok. He looks tough enough to handle it.”

She nodded as we followed the nurses into a room but she didn’t look reassured.

Aww poor leah. but poor seth too

Jacob’s P.O.V.

You see, when you see the back of two werewolves (werewolves!!) in a hospital, you know something bad has happened. I slung my backpack of toiletries for when I slept over with Sam and Emily and twins over my shoulders and ran up to them. Please don’t let it be Sue. I silently prayed.

“What happened?” I demanded as I came up behind them.

“Leah found this guy collapsed on the beach.” Seth said. I didn’t buy it but I didn’t say anything. Leah gripped my hand so hard she drew blood.

“I’m worried Jake.”

“Yeah, well worry on someone else or you’re going to have two of you buddies in the hospital.” I said.

“Sorry.” She dropped my hand and I shook it trying to get the blood running through it again.

Apparently it then registered in their tiny brains that I shouldn’t be here either. “What are you doing here?” They said in unison.

“Wow, I’m really feeling the love.” I said. “And if you must know I cannot take another second of Paul and Rachel acting all lovey-dovey. Although I’m happy for Rach and all but it’s just weird. But I did agree to be the best man and… That’s not important. I called Sam to see if I could crash at his place but he told me that Emily had her babies so I could just come stay with them at the hospital so tada I’m here.” By the time I was done we were in what’s-his-face’s room.

The first thing out of Seth’s mouth: “Wait, wait, wait babies?”

The first thing out of Leah’s mouth: “You’re no the only one with problems you know!”

“Yeah Leah I know, life is crappy for everyone, but not everyone has siblings they can rant it to since some of their siblings are the problem! And yes Seth, babies Emily had twins.”

Seth: “Aw!”

Leah : “Hmph.”

LOL. Oh that is so cute!!!!!!!!

Rosalie’s P.O.V.

I sighed and sat down in the kitchen dead bored (no pun intended). Emmett had gone hunting, Jasper and Alice were on a ‘date’ (a.k.a watching a movie), Edward and Bella were out at the cottage, Esme was shopping for some food since the dog had eaten all of ours, and Carlisle was on ER duty.

I turned around in the stool to watch the news, nothing new really. I heard a familiar voice behind me “You don’t look like you’re having fun.”

I smiled and turned around in the chair again to kiss Emmett “No…I wasn’t.” I said between kissing him.

He hugged me and I pressed my face into his neck “Hmm… what to do, what to do?”

Just then Jasper came crashing through the window, well not literally. “What?!” I asked.

“Alice and I were early to the movie so we were driving through La Push when I smelt were-wolf. And human. We followed the smell and it took us to a hospital.” He explained as Alice came in behind him.

“Jasper’s officially gone way to paranoid.” I said.

“I want everyone to check it out, it just doesn’t seem right. It didn’t feel right.” He said.

Alice nodded in agreement “It was weird.”

I sighed and rolled my eyes “Fine.” I was to lazy to grab my purse and search for my cell-phone so I pulled Emmett’s out of his pocket and called Carlisle. Jasper seemed to be calling Esme and Alice texted Bella and Edward. “Hello Carlisle. Sorry to bother you at work but my twin has officially jumped off the deep-end in paranoia.”

“What do you mean?” Carlisle asked.

I explained what Jasper had told us. Carlisle laughed “Okay I’ll be home in ten minutes.”

Emmett’s P.O.V.

We reached the start of the smell, which was down on a beach. “Let’s get this over with.” I grumbled. I inhaled deeply and started back towards where we came from.

Rosalie followed me, followed by Jasper, followed by Alice, followed by Edward, followed by Bella, followed by Esme, followed by Carlisle. It was like a Cullen family parade, joy.

We reached the hospital and stopped. “Okay, nothing smells like blood or anything so I don’t think anything weird happened dearest Jasper.” I said.

“Neither do I.” Agreed Rose.

“Okay so all in favor of agreeing Jasper is way to paranoid and us going home say I.”

Everyone said ‘I’ but Jasper, Alice, and Esme. “Majority rules, let’s go.” I said turning to leave.

“Wait.” Carlisle says. “Why do you believe Jasper?” he asks Esme.

“Well, Jasper’s right about a lot of things. Maybe we should just go in.”

“Good idea.” Jasper said.

“Alright fine, everyone into the hospital.” I said.

Edward’s P.O.V.

I followed everyone into the hospital silently. I sighed “It’s fine, Leah found a guy collapsed on the beach and Seth helped bring him here, can we leave, now, please?”

“No.” Esme, Jasper, and Alice said at the same time.

“Fine, don’t believe the only mind-reader in the room.” I mumble.

Carlisle walked up to the counter were a nurse was sitting chomping on her gum. I hope this guy hurries up, I’ve almost one solitaire. She thinks. “Hello, I’m looking for two friends of mine. A girl about this tall, tan skin dark eyes and long dark hair. A boy about this tall, muscular, dark hair and eyes, tan. Have you seen them?”

“Yeah down the hall first door on your left.” She says.

“Thank you.” Carlisle nods politely and walks towards the room.

“I could’ve told you that.” I muttered walking past them so we could get this whole mattered settled.

“Well, if it isn’t a leech family reunion, what brings you here?” Jacob asks coolly.

Jacob’s P.O.V.

I counted up. “Where’s Ness?” Doc started talking to Leah about what happened.

Edward came forward. “What’s it matter?”

“It matters because she happens to be my girlfriend!” I snapped anger boiling.

“Cool it Jake.” I heard Seth say.

“Yes Jacob, cool it. She’s safe and that’s all you need to know.”

I grabbed Edward by his shirt and lifted him. “Jake stop!” I heard Bella say.

“Tell me where Ness is and I’ll put him down.” I said feeling on the brink of phasing.

“Her human half caught a cold, it’s no biggie. Jake put him down.” I cooled off and set Edward on the ground.

“Is she ok?”

“She’s fine.” Edward said. “Eating chicken noodle soup, taking her medicine. You can see her when she’s better.”

“I’ll see her whenever I want to.” I told him in a growl.

“Well, Edward was right, Jasper is paranoid now that this matter is settled we can go home. Jacob would you care to join us?” Doc asked.
