The Wolf's Story (Twilight, After Breaking Dawn)

J.P.O.V.

I have to say, compared to Forks Florida is amazing. Even though it felt like I was drinking air, it was cool. Kim and I went down to the beach and set out towels. I laid down on them. “This is amazing.” Kim said looking out at the sea.

“I know honey. I’m glad we came here.” I said taking her hands in mine.

She sucked in a breath and pulled her hands back. “Something wrong?” I asked.

“Yeah it’s just the heat plus your hands.” She said. “Sorry.”

“It’s okay.” I said. “We’ll have to wait for the air-conditioned hotel room.”

She got up and ran to the ocean. “What are you?” I asked running behind her. She got into knee-deep water and splashed me.

I laughed and splashed her back. We went on for a bit like that and then I went underwater. I swam so I was right next to her and came up. I gave her a big wet hug and she laughed and splashed me.

I fell back so I was floating on my back. “You tired?” She asked.

“Nope.” I said getting up.

“You sure?” She asked.

“Yup.”

“I love you.” She said leaning against me.

“Love you too.” I said hugging her.

L.P.O.V.

Sam told me he’d been waiting for my call and that he would love me even if I were a vampire, which I had a nervous laugh about. When he told me to come over Seth put my keys in my lap and walked downstairs where mom had made us breakfast.

I drove to Sam’s house and knocked on the door. He took my hand and told me to close my eyes because he had a present for me. I closed my eyes and let him lead me around his house until he finally let me open my eyes. When I did I saw a box. I raised an eyebrow but opened it and then laughed. In side was a bag labeled EMERGENCY STASH, when I opened it up there was a tank top and a pair of shorts. “So see, now if you ever do what you did here again, you’ll be okay.” He said.

I kissed him. “I love it.” I told him. He smiled hugging me.

“Um, why can’t I call you that certain nickname?” He said.

I sighed letting go of him and walking over to his couch. I sat down pulling my knees up to my chest. “Old boyfriend?” He asked.

“More like old fiancé.” I muttered.

“What?” He asked sitting next to me.

“There was another Sam that I was in love with and he’s a werewolf. Well, we have this thing it’s like love at first sight but we call it Imprinting. Whoever we Imprint on is our world. We’ll do anything for her or in my case him. But, it’s not common. You’re one could be in China or Peru or something so you just settle for someone other. And Sam and I were in total love and then… my cousin Emily came for a visit.” I said.

“And he… Imprinted on her?” Sam asked.

I nodded. “I was really mad and upset, I hated both of them and never really forgave either of them. They’re married now, with a set of twins and a nice little house.” I said. “And I’m becoming okay with it. I can deal with Sam now, even if I’m no longer in his pack, but I’m not really ready to be okay with Emily.” I said.

“I’m… sorry.” He said.

“I’m not. All of the guys took pity on me, like I can’t find the one.” I said. “Almost all of them did it, why can’t I?”

“So… I might not be… you know… him?” He asked.

“I honestly have no idea. There’s no record of a she-wolf ever. Maybe I’m not wired to Imprint. Maybe I have on you but it’s on a smaller scale or something.” I said.

“That’s… complicated.” He said.

“That’s why I’m surprised you didn’t dump me.”

“I’d never do that.”

I smiled.

S.P.O.V.

Emily and I had gotten things smoothed out. I bounced around Samantha after breakfast talking to her but not really making any sense I was just saying everything on my mind, making noise, white noise.

“You think they’re going to be wolves?” Emily said with an anxious expression on her face.

“What?” I asked confused.

“You just said ‘I hope they’re not going to be wolves but I know they probably will be.’”

“I’m just thinking aloud.” I said. “I don’t really mean anything.”

“But, Sam. That’s not the point. You think they’re going to be wolves?” She asked.

“Well, they could be…” I said trailing off. “But that’s only if the gene gets activated and if they got it. It’s a fifty-fifty chance.”

“I was just hoping.” She said. “You said it’s so horrible, I was just…” She started. “Never mind. They’re perfect and if they’re wolves they’ll be perfecter.” She said.

“You mean more perfect?” I asked.

“No, I mean perfecter.”

J.P.O.V.

“She has you wrapped around her finger, doesn’t she?” I asked the blonde male as I took a pear from their fruit bowel.

“I beg your pardon?” He asked watching me.

“The short chick? You’d do anything for her, right?” I asked taking a bite of the pear.

“Well, yes.” He said. “And her name is Alice.”

I nodded walking around the island. All of the sudden he took his phone out of his pocket. “She wants you back.”

“Who? The short chick?”

“Alice, and yes.” He said walking towards the door. I followed him munching on the pear.

We reached the cottage and he opened the door. “Thank you, Jazz!” Alice called.

“You’re welcome, love.” He said leaning against the door after I came in.

I walked to the back wear Ness was her hair in little clips and Alice had a device in her hand running it through Ness’s hair. “There you are!” She said setting down the device.

She came over to me and passed, her shoulder brushing my elbow. I shuddered. She brought out a garment bag on a hanger and unzipped it. Inside was a black suit with a purple dress shirt and a black tie. She thrust it at me “Go try it on, mister.” She said pointing towards the bathroom.

I went into the bathroom and tried it on but I was having trouble with the tie. I fiddled with it for about five minutes before I heard. “Ugh, Jasper go help him.”

He knocked on the door. “Come in…?” I said. He opened the door.

“Turn around.” He ordered and I did so. He started undoing the tie.

“By the way, no fair with that whole calming down thing earlier.” I said as he started to redo it.

“It was faster than waiting for you to stop whatever it was you were doing.” He said simply and finished my tie. He walked out of the bathroom and I followed him out.

Alice came over. She started sticking pins all over it with a little help from Jasper who went out of his way to poke me with them. I sighed. It was going to be a long day.

Poor Jacob. At least when Alice was doing it to Bella she was in her, "happy place."

S.P.O.V.

I walked into a convenient store bored looking for something to eat. I was walking between the aisles looking at all of the shiny wrappers telling me of the food they contained. Walking down the fourth or fifth aisle I started to not care because it was becoming small bottles of different medicines, things for if your car breaks down, plastic silverware, etc. I went back through the other aisles and grabbed a bag of chips, a bottle of pop, and a few candy bars including two of Leah’s favorites for her.

I went up to the counter and when I looked up at the girl waiting to ring me up, I understood Imprinting. I almost dropped the stuff I was holding for the yearning to know something I could do for her, anything. “Are you going to stand there and stare or are you gonna let me ring you up?” She – there it is her name tag, Sara – Sara, asked.

“Oh, um no. Uh, here.” I walked up to the counter and put the things down I looked around and saw a sign that said employees needed. As she began scanning things I asked, “Um, how do you apply?”

“What?” She asked stopping and looking up.

I pointed to the sign. “How do you apply? For a job?”

She bent down and I heard the shifting of things, she handed me a paper before beginning to scan the rest of the stuff. “Just bring it by whenever.” I looked around and saw a pen to sign receipts with. I handed her the money for the things and she handed me the bag then I grabbed the pen.

I quickly filled out the application and handed it to her. She looked it over. “You start tomorrow.”

“What?” I asked not believing it.

“You, Seth… Clearwater, start as in begin, tomorrow as in July 12.” She said.

“Okay, um, thanks.” I said nodding and then leaving. When I got into the car I did a quick happy dance and then drove home.

YEY! Seth Imprinted! And on a girl named Sara. *happy dance* lol

Is your name Sara? xD That's so weird. I was trying to think of a girl's name and Sara was the first one that popped into my mind.

It's Sarah but in the sense of prononceiaction (sp) yes. So thankies even if you did it by accident. *happy dance time*

L.P.O.V.

Sam and I were curled up on the couch watching a movie when my phone rang. I sighed as Sam paused the movie. I took my phone out of my pocket and looked. Seth. Of course. I flipped it open. “This better be good.” I said.

“It is! Leah, listen, I just Imprinted!” He said voice full of enthusiasm.

“Really?” I asked jumping off the couch. “Seth that’s great!”

“Yes, yes, and get this! We’re co-workers!” He said.

“Seth that’s great!” I said happy for him.

“I know! I have to go, Leah. I’ll talk to you when you get home, kay?”

“Sure.” I said. “Bye Seth.”

“Bye Leah.” He hung up and then I did sitting back down.

“What was that all about?” Sam asked.

“Seth Imprinted.” I said laying my head on his lap.

“That’s good, right?” He asked.

I grabbed a pillow and hit him with it. “Yes you idiot.”

“Sorry, dear.” He said stroking my hair.

“It’s huge. He’s 27 and has only had like 3 girlfriends ever.” I said.

“He’s 27?” He asked.

“Yeah, but we stay the same as the day we shift. If we stop shifting for a really long time we age.” I said. “I’m 29, technically.”

“Well, I’m 21 so that’s not to bad.” He said.

“Of course not. If we love each other that’s all that should matter.” I said.

“Of course.” He nodded.

Aww. Leah has a good taste in men. Kind-of. That lee-lee mistake would still have me p*ssed.

I know, but he didn't know, so.

Yeah. I guess that is forgivable.

S.P.O.V.

When I was trying to get some sleep my phone buzzed. I ignored it but it buzzed again, I guess I at least owed it to them to see who it was. Seth, hmm, might as well. I opened it up and said “What’s up, Seth?”

“Sam! Guess what?”

“What…?” I said.

“I Imprinted. On a girl!”

Well if that wasn’t obvious. “Oh, that’s great Seth.”

“I know! I have to go! Bye!” And the line went dead.

“Who was that?” Emily asked coming around the corner. I patted the spot next to me on the bed. She laid down.

“Well, that was Seth… I think.”

“What do you mean?” She asked curling up against me.

“Well, he said he was Seth, and he sort of sounded like Seth, but he was quite happy and brief.” I said.

“What?”

“He Imprinted apparently.” I said.

“Well why didn’t you say that for the first place?” She asked

“I don’t know, you asked who it was first.” I said.

“True.” She said.

She yawned and curled up tighter closing her eyes. The baby monitor rang out with sound of one of the twin’s cries. She sighed and started to get up. “No, you stay here I’ll get them.” I said. I wasn’t functioning on much sleep but it was better if she got sleep. I walked into their room. They were both crying. Joy.

'I' imprinted! On a girl!' Has any of the guys imprinted on a boy before?? LOL He is just very excited.

Nessie’s P.O.V.

At the rate Alice was going we could probably be married next week. I was really embarrassed standing in the middle of the cottage’s living room in my dress with Jasper there. “Nessie, I can leave if that’s what’s making you so nervous.” He said.

“No. Jazz, it’s okay, I better get used to it.” I said. He smiled faintly.

“Shush you two when talk it makes all the pins mess up.” Alice said. “Now, something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. This is new, so check. We could get you a blue garter, that would also be a check.”

“Garter? What’s that about?”

Alice suddenly got silent. “Jasper you want to take that one?”

“Not really.” He said. “But I suppose I will. Well, you know how when you throw the bouquet, the lady who catches it is the next to get married, supposedly, as you may know. Well you see, when the women wears a garter the groom takes it off… generally with his teeth-”

“What?” I said shocked, I was probably bright red.

“And, he throws it at the gentlemen folk whomever is the one to catch it is supposedly the next to get married.” He finished.

“Exactly. Moving on, I have an old hairpin you could borrow, which finishes the list.” She said putting the last of the pins in my dress. “Jazz, would you mind leaving for about fifteen minutes?”

“Sure, love.” He said walking outside.

She closed her eyes. “Be careful, you can go ahead and get out of it.”

I got out of it quickly and pulled on my clothes. “You can open your eyes.” I said.

“Come on.” She grabbed my hand and tugged me into the bathroom. She turned on Alice-babble and began talking about the make-up and hair products she was going to use. I closed my eyes and let her go.

J.P.O.V.

The Cullens were taking shifts watching me, I would’ve told them to go away but it was really entertaining. None of them had any idea as of what to do with me. Esme tried to be motherly and Carlisle fatherly, Edward didn’t show his face, Bells tried to talk about the good ol’ days and get me excited about the wedding even though my only wedding experience (hers) was not enjoyable, Emmett and Rosalie didn’t really do much but ignore me and occasionally make out.

It was Bells turn now. We were sitting down on the couch kind of awkwardly. “So.” She said tugging on a loose thread of her jeans. “What’ve you been up to?”

I snorted. “Wedding planning, getting poked, running around.”

“Sounds… fun.” She said.

“Not really.” I said laying back. I was so tired, but I had to keep awake incase Alice needed me. “What’ve you been up to?” I asked tossing and catching a pillow.

“Oh. Nothing really. Trying to keep Edward calm, which is a full time job, even for Jasper.” She said watching to me.

“I’m surprised he didn’t blow a fuse.”

“He did, at first. But he kept telling himself that it would make his little girl happy.”

“Of course.” I said.

“You should be happy he didn’t try and kill you.” She said.

I yawned.

“This isn’t a joke Jacob!”

“I’m tired okay? Jeesh, I like it better when the big one and the blonde chick are ignoring me.”

Bella humphed and turned her back to me. I stretched my arms over my head popping my back. I closed my eyes again; maybe I could just doze off for a few minutes…

“Alice needs you back.” Jasper’s voice found my sleeping mind.

“Again? Can’t she just get all of my stuff done so I can sleep?” I asked opening my eyes and getting up.

He shrugged walking towards the door and out it. I followed him not really paying attention til we go to the cottage. I got inside and plopped on an easy chair. Alice came in “There you are.” She said. “I just wanted to tell you that were done for today.” She grabbed Jasper’s hand and they exited.

I sighed, finally. I got up and found my way to Nessie’s bedroom where she was laying on her bed. I laid down next to her. “Ness.” I whispered. She was out. I smiled and fell asleep next to her.

Poor Jake. He must have been so tired.

L.P.O.V.

Sheet. “Sam! Sam wake up NOW!” I yelled hitting him on the arm a bit to hard. I had fallen asleep on his couch the night before.

“Five more minutes.” He mumbled before turning over.

“SAM! WE CANNOT WAIT FIVE MORE MINUTES!” I yelled at the top of my lungs.

His eyes snapped open. “Leah?”

“Yeah I fell asleep here!” I said. Phone. Where is my phone? I started looking all over bending down and standing on my tiptoes. I finally found it between the cushions and flipped it open I hit speed dial 2, my mom.

“Sue, please answer.” I said pacing back and forth. It rang once. Twice. Three times.

“Hello?”

“Mom! I’m so, so, so, so, so, so, so, sorry. I should’ve called.” I said.

“It’s okay, Seth told me what happened.” She said.

“He did?” I asked.

“Yes, you spent the night with those friends of Claire’s.” She said.

“Um, yeah. I’m glad Seth told you, I didn’t want you to be worried.” I said.

“Love you, I have to go, bye.”

“Okay mom, love you, bye.” I hung up.

Thank God I have a brother like Seth. I sighed flopping down on the couch. “I love Seth.” I said.

“What?” Sam asked bewildered.

“He just saved our butts.”

“How…?”

“He told our mom that I’m at a sleepover. But I have to go, to make it seem real.” I said, I leaned over and kissed him. “Dinner tonight, my place, time for you to meet the family.” I said getting up.

I walked outside and got into my truck. I turned the keys in the ignition and backed out. I dialed Seth’s number and pressed the phone to my ear. His machine clicked over “Hey, it’s Seth. I’m at work right now with the girl I love so I’ll get back to you later.” BEEP.

“Seth you are officially the best brother ever. Thank you for saving me with mom. I love you little bro, bye.” I hung up and continued home.

LOL Way to go Seth! Love his answer on his phone too.
