“Goodness, Jared, why did you have to pick me? Why couldn’t you have gotten Kim’s sister or something?” I said putting my head in my hands.

“Sorry, kid.” Jared said gazing over at Kim who had a worried expression on her face.

“It’s just, out of all the crappy things that have happened in my life, this and Sam Imprinting on Emily have to be ranked as number one.” I said as Jared went over to Kim.

“Oh, you’re being a Drama Queen, Emily and Sam was much worse than this.” Jared said.

“No. Because I was there, I could help her, I could be the brother I’m supposed to be. But I’m in freaking Las Vegas, Nevada.” I said angry.

“Seth.” He warned. “We don’t need a wolf in the hotel room. It’s small enough as it is.”

I sighed slumping back in the chair. “Which means wait till the honeymoon you two.” Jared through a pillow at me and Kim giggled.

I threw the pillow back and he laughed. “So, how soon can we leave?”

“When the ceremony is done which means about 10:15.”

“Good, the earlier I get back to Leah the better… I hope.” I said.

“I hope too, kid. I wouldn’t want to be the one dealing with Leah at her worst since she’s not that good at her best.”

P.P.O.V.

“Back so soon?” I asked Jake when he walked through the door. “I thought you were sucking face with that leech girl of yours.” Rachel sent me a warning look.

“No, Leah had an… emergency. And since I’m alpha over the pack she is in I had to… deal with it.” Jake said choosing his words carefully.

“What she phased and was out of clothes?” I asked.

“No.” I said walking into the kitchen and raiding the cabinets. “If he has to stay here he at least as to pay for the food he eats.” He said finding three empty bags of chips and throwing them out.

“Jacob be nice.” Rach said. I leaned on the kitchen doorway seeing him finally find some cheese and bread. He put pan on the burner and turned on the heat.

“I am.” He said. He tried to put butter in the pan and did but not without burning himself on accident. He winced and ran his hand under water and then went back to cooking.

Rach sniffed as he started on the first sandwich. “That smells good.”

“I think there’s enough for you and me. But not him.” He said glaring at me.

“That’s okay. He’s not hungry right, sweetie.” She said giving me a pleading look.

I sighed. “Right.” I said as my stomach rumbled. Jacob snickered. “Did you say something, Black?”

“Nope.” He said popping the ‘p’ as he finished the second sandwich.

I gripped the table then went outside. Not even bothering to pull my shorts off and phasing. Sam, what are you doing like this?

About to ask you the same thing.

Well?

I got upset because of something and Emily told me that she didn’t want a repeat and I saw her face, and are brand new baby girl and realized, maybe I’m not cut out to be a dad. If I’m in danger of hurting our children every time I get a little mad.

Shut-up Sam, you’re a great dad.

Well, since you’re wondering. Jake sent me over the edge.

J.P.O.V.

“That wasn’t very nice.” Rach said as we sat down to eat.

“I’m sorry.” I said.

She sighed. “Can’t you guys be in the same room for more than two minutes without one of you phasing?”

“Don’t think so.” I said taking a bite of the sandwich.

“Figures.” I grinned she threw a napkin at me.

“Hey, when Billy gets back tell him I’m going to be gone for the night.” I said finishing off the last sandwich and getting up.

“Ooh, Nessie and Jacob sittin’ in a-” I starred at her and she stopped.

“No. It’s more like this.” I reached into my pocket and pulled out the ring box.

She gasped and took it from me. She opened it and gasped again. “Jake, this must’ve cost you a fortune.”

“Good thing I’m now working two jobs to somehow regain a cent of what I lost.” I said.

“She’ll love it. Whether it was a twig bent in a circle or… this.” She said.

“To bad I knew that before I bought this. Not refundable.” I said putting it back in my pocket and going into my car. I took a deep breath. I could do this… no I couldn’t.

Emmett’s P.O.V.

I went outside and sat on the steps as soon as Edward left. I thought he would be the one to confront Jacob but oh no he says ‘he’ll lose control’ or something. I sighed as he pulled up. I stood up and went over.

He jumped out of the car. “Yes?”

“Edward said that he’s happy for her but if you hurt her sleep with two eyes open.” I said paraphrasing.

“I think I got that already.” Jacob said trying to pass me. I stuck my arm out. “One last thing. You touch my wife again, you better sleep with three eyes open.”

Nessie’s P.O.V.

Jacob opened up my door and walked in. “Hey I wanted to ask you something.” Jacob said.

“Daddy told me.” I said interrupting him.

He cursed.

“I hear a not nice word.” I said going over to him and wrapping my arms around him. He hugged me back and I slipped my hand into his back pocket. “He also happened to tell me where the ring was and how much you paid for it. And your two new jobs.” I said pulling the box out of his pocket.

“Which is why mommy gave me this.” I handed him a thick enveloped that I knew was filled with the cash he had spent.

“Uh… tell Bells I said thanks.” He said setting it on the dresser by the door. “You can go ahead and open it.” He said gesturing to the box.

“Ohmigod, Jake it’s beautiful.” I said hugging him tightly and kissing him. I let go and broke the kiss. I put it on and admired it. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I squealed.

He laughed. “You’re welcome. Thanks for the cash.” He said.

“Anytime.” I said flopping on my bed. All of the sudden there was a knock on the door. Jacob raised an eyebrow. I put a hand on his forehead showing him all the planning Alice had done and had yet to do. He groaned. “Grow up.” I told him going to open the door.

“Jacob. There you are! What size do you wear?” She grabbed him and pulled him up scrutinizing him. “Black would look good, maybe with a purple tie? What do you think Nessie?”

“I think purple would be lovely.” Jake made a face.

“Right.” She said scribbling on a notepad I hadn’t seen. “Hmm, Jacob what type of cake do wolves like?”

“Uh?” He said.

“And food? What do they eat?”

“Well…”

“And what about drinks?”

I laughed at his puzzled expression.

S.P.O.V

I woke up on the day of the wedding feeling crappy. I barley got any sleep because I was worrying about Leah and she wouldn’t answer her phone to put me at ease.

The morning went in sort of blurs and flashes. I remember seeing Kim in her dress and saying she looked nice. I remember Jared saying ‘I do.’ I remember getting a cab to take us to the airport. And I remember drinking a bottle of juice and eating a bag of pretzels on the plane. And I remember getting into Leah’s truck and driving home. And that’s when things started becoming more real.

“Leah!” I yelled.

“Upstairs!” She called back.

I walked upstairs and opened her bedroom door. I walked over to her on her bed where she was in her p.j.’s and had some serious bed head but I hugged her. “Seth you can let go now.” She said.

“Sorry.” I said letting go of her. “Are you okay? Did you work it out with Sam.”

She shook her head looking away. I put my hand under her chin and turned her head back, her eyes where shiny with fresh tears. “I’m scared.”

“Why? He loves you. I saw it.” I said.

“But now he’ll think I’m a freak. He’ll hate me. I’m just a stupid she-wolf.” She said flopping on her bed.

“You’re not stupid and he won’t think you’re a freak.” I said handing her my cell-phone. “Call him, please, sissy?”

She sighed and took the phone. She looked at me before she started dialing.

Alice’s P.O.V.

“Jasper!” I called. “Jasper!” I said looking around. “There you are.” I said taking his hand and pulling him up from the couch. I walked out the door and started running with them towards the cottage.

“Alice, what are you doing?” He asked.

“Planning Nessie’s and Jacob’s wedding. Jeez Jasper, where have you been the last five hours?” I asked him.

“Here.” He said. We slowed when we reached to cottage.

I looked at him. “Should I knock or do you think it would be safe to go in?” I asked him.

He thought for a moment. “It’s okay, they’re all calmed down now.” He said.

I grinned and pecked him on the cheek “Thank-you!” I opened the door. “Nessie, Jacob come here!” I called setting down my bag on the table.

I heard them come in while I rummaged around. “Aha! Here it is.” I said pulling out a tape measurer. “Jacob come here.” I said motioning for him to step forward.

He took a half step forward. I sighed and rolled my eyes walking over to him. “Jasper help me.” I said, I could only bring the measuring tape up about five feet on him, which still left close to two feet unmeasured. Jasper pulled it up. “Six foot six.” He said.

“Holy cow.” I murmured taking the tape measure around his waist and then his chest. I scribbled the measurements down on my notepad. “Now, shoo fly. Esme’s making breakfast and we have to plan the dress.

“Okay.” He said slowly starring at me. He didn’t move.

I sighed. “Jasper, take him to the house and then come back, would you, dear?” I asked.

“Sure, love.” He said and turned to Jacob. “Come on… dog.” He said walking towards the door.

It got Jake mad but it least it got him moving.
