The Wolf's Story (Twilight, After Breaking Dawn)

S.P.O.V.

I swear this is the funnest job ever. Besides lunch and breakfast time literally no one comes in for anything. So basically it was just a social hour with the occasional customer. It was just about lunchtime so Sara and I were trying to wind down our conversation.

I think we were really kicking it off to a good start; we had been talking for two hours straight without a single silence. Our first customer came in and we separated to our registers. It honestly wasn’t that hard you just scanned the items and then hit a button waited and then hit a couple more buttons and gave them the receipt.

By the time the first customer was ready to check out three more people had come in. I went on ringing people up bagging stuff and handing out receipts. A few people commented on how my name is spelt STEH, whoever manufactured these things was most likely dyslectic. Sara told me she had to send hers back six times before they got it right and to not worry.

When the last of them left I hoped over the counter and grabbed a package of doughnuts. I handed over to Sara “If you wouldn’t and mind of course.”

She laughed and rang me up. When she told me the total I double-checked the price. “You realize that’s almost half the price?”

“Ever heard of an employee discount?” She asked.

“Oh. Right.” I said pulling out the money.

“What? Don’t like cheap doughnuts?” She asked.

“I love cheap doughnuts.” I said, I ripped open the package and popped one in my mouth. I jumped back over the counter and offered her one. She took it and ate it one dainty bite at a time.

“So.” I said awkwardly. “Do you, like, have a boyfriend or something?”

“No, why?” She asked shooting me a sideways glance.

“Well I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t be completely inappropriate to ask you to dinner.” I said.

“So is this you asking or you asking for when you ask?” She asked.

“I think this is me asking.” I said.

“Then I would love to have dinner with you. When?”

“Um tonight? My place?”

“Sure.”

“I’ll pick you up here at seven?”

“Sounds great.”

S.P.O.V.

I think I got the twins calmed down enough to maybe get five minutes of sleep. I went to my and Emily’s bed and laid down. She was taking a shower, I could hear the water it was so relaxing. I took a last glance at the clock 1:30.

When I woke up and looked at the clock it was 3:30. How the heck did I get two hours of sleep without them waking up? I got up and walked into the twin’s room where our beautiful baby boy was in Emily’s arms and are beautiful baby girl was in her crib sleeping.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” I asked taking him from her.

“Because, you keep working so I can get a full eight hours I thought you at least deserved a few hours of sleep.”

“I love you.” I smiled leaning over to kiss her.

“I love you too.” She said.

I walked around the room bouncing our baby while signing a bit off key to some lullaby. He finally fell asleep and I laid him in his crib. I wandered around trying to find Emily.

I finally found her reading on the couch; I went over to her and sat down wrapping my arms around her waist. She smiled and leaned on me. I kissed the top of her head. “Their asleep.”

“How long do you think that’ll last?”

“About fifteen seconds.” Just then Samantha started crying.

LOL Poor guys. They must be tired!

J.P.O.V.

“Can you do me a favor Jacob?” Alice asked me.

As if I wasn’t doing her 7 million favors. “Yeah, what?”

“Can you call up all the people you want as grooms men?”

“How many am I aloud to have?”

She smiled. “As many as you want.”

“Okay.”

I opened up my cell phone and called Seth. He picked up on the third ring. “Seth?”

“What do you need Jake?”

“I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind being my best man at my wedding?”

“Of course Jake when is it?”

I looked at Alice for help who mouthed three weeks.

“In three weeks.”

“Sure thing!”

“Okay, I have to go, bye.”

“Bye!” He said and we hung up at the same time.

I called Quil. He answered on the second ring. “Hey Quil.”

“Jake, long time no see!”

“Uh, yeah. I was wondering if you’d be one of the grooms people at my wedding?”

“When?”

“Three weeks.”

“Erm, I’m free, cool, yeah, I will.”

“Cool. See you then?”

“See you then.” He said and we hung up.

I did the same with Embry and Jared. Both said yes. I jokingly told Embry to bring a date other than his eight-year-old he told me that she’s nine and he’d bring whomever he wanted.

“Done.” I told Alice.

“Excellent!” She said. “I got your tux adjusted so you just have to try it one more time before the wedding.

I groaned. “Cheer up mister and go try on that tux!” She said putting her hands on her hips. I stifled another groan, smiled and went on my way.

LOL

L.P.O.V.

“Seth, you can’t have your maybe girlfriend over tonight, I’m having my definite boyfriend over!” I said.

“I’m sorry. But hey, now we can see if we approve the other’s date for the other one.” He said.

I smacked him. “Okay maybe not.”

I pulled my fingers through my short hair and paced back and forth. “Leah, chillax, why can’t we just double?”

“Because! I was hoping tonight could be nice for me and Sam, he could meet Sue, and you.” I sighed slumping on the couch.

He sat down next to me and put his arm around my shoulders. “He can do that, and Sara can meet mom and you.”

I leaned on his shoulder. “Okay.”

I got an evil idea. “You have to help me cook though.”

He groaned. “Sissy, you know I hate cooking.”

“Precisely.” I took his hand in mine and led him to the kitchen. “That’s why you’re helping me. Pay your dues.”

I looked through the pantry and found a box of pasta. I shoved it against his chest. “You do know how to make that, right?”

He rolled his eyes. “I’m not stupid.” He started looking for a pot.

I found some frozen garlic bread and spaghetti sauce and began cooking. “This would be a lot more fun,” Seth said. “With some music.” He went over to our nearly ancient radio and turned it on. A funky song with a fast beat came on and we began dancing and laughing like the good old days. Before we were werewolves, before the first Sam, before our lives got thrown out of whack.

The music changed and we kept laughing but then sighed and went back to work, remembering we were werewolves, remembering my heart had been stomped upon by the boy I loved, and remembering anything else thrown at our lives.

Poor Leah.

I have a secret. >.> ... <.< My sister can't make pasta without my help.

Really? O.o How old is she?

Yes really. She is 12 now. It took her 5 minutes to remember to put a lid on to get the water boiling and another five to remember to put the timer on.

o.o that's.... interseting....

If you are wondering no. She does not have a mental illness. She just can't cook.

N.P.O.V.

I woke up to Alice, no surprise. I told her she had to stop at 6:30 so Jake could eat. And she did, for fifteen minutes. We were back to the cottage working on invites and décor and all sorts of stuff.

“You’re left handed?” Jacob asked.

I looked down. “I suppose I am.”

“That’s neat.” He said and we went back to writing invitations.

“Alice told me you didn’t ask Paul to be a grooms man.” I said.

“Yeah, well just because he’s my soon to be brother-in-law doesn’t mean I have to like him.” He said scrawling out the invite he was working on.

“I was wondering something.” I said. “How p’d do you think Leah would be if I asked her to be a bride’s maid?”

“Not really.” He said.

“Good, could you call her for me?”

“Why can’t you?”

“She scares me.” I said biting my lip.

He laughed and passed me his phone. “Speed dial 9.” He said.

I pressed nine and hit the green button. I held my breath.

“Hello? Jake? Make it quick.” She said.

“No, it’s um, Renesmee, his fiancée.” I said.

“Oh. What?”

“I was wondering if you wouldn’t mine being one of my bride’s maids.”

“Sure. When?”

“Three weeks.”

“Okay. Can I bring a date?”

“Sure.” I said smiling.

“Well, I have to go bye.”

“Bye.” I said hanging up. I sighed putting the phone down. “I am never doing that again.”

“Why, you did great?”

“I was afraid she was going to phone murder me.”

“Phone murder you?” Jake looked up grinning.

I hit him with my pen. “It means to murder one while on the phone with them.”

“Uh-huh, yeah.”

I hit him again.

S.P.O.V.

Sam and Sara came at basically the exact same time. We all sat around our dinner and began to eat quietly and awkwardly. “So.” Leah said. “Sam, this is the infamous Seth. Seth, this is Sam.” I said.

“Nice to meet you.” I said cheerfully.

“You too.” He said.

“You probably heard this before but if you hurt my sister you better sleep with two eyes open.” I said pleasantly.

Leah kicked me under the table. “I mean…”

“It’s okay, Seth.” Sam said grinning. “I’ve had worse.”

I grinned too, “So have I.” I went back to eating and then said. “Oh, Sara, this is my wonderfully wonderful sissy, Leah. And her… boyfriend Sam.” I said.

“Pleasure.” Sara said.

“About to say the same thing.” Leah said.

“And Sam and Sara, this is our lovely mom Sue.” I said.

Mom smiled and nodded.

We carried on with conversation and eating, Leah and I trying to eat a somewhat normal amount. “Oh.” Sara said and turned to me. “Seth, tonight has been lovely, but can you drive me home?”

“Sure.” I said standing up. We walked out and hopped into the car. She directed me to her home and I stopped in the driveway.

“Um, so.” I said awkwardly.

“So, yeah.” She said, even in the dim light I could see her flush red.

I decided to hop out of the car and open her door. She got out and I hugged her even though it didn’t seem right, I kind of wanted to kiss her, which made me feel like turning red. “God, are you like a million degrees or something.” She said not letting go.

“It’s a genetic thing.” I said letting go of her. We starred at each for a moment, and then I did it, I kissed her.

Well Sara and Sarah are pronounced the same way. And Seth is my fave wolf. So Happy Dance Time!

Nessie’s P.O.V.

We were working on the finishing touches of the wedding dress, the veil, the gloves, and the jewelry. “Alice.” I said as she adjusted the veil while perched on Jasper’s shoulder. “I’m only nervous about one thing.”

“What’s that?” She asked.

“The whole garter business.” I said playing with my hands.

She sighed jumping down from her perch on Jasper. “Jasper make sure she doesn’t run for the hills, I’ll be right back.” She said walking out the door.

“It’s worse for the guy, you know.” He said quietly.

“What?” I asked confused.

“What if it gets stuck on her shoe, what if you don’t throw if far enough.” He said.

“Oh.” I said as Alice came back in. Nothing seemed to change until I saw that over her jeans she was wearing a garter.

“Jasper please help me in showing Nessie that this is no big deal.”

“Sure, love.” He went over knelt down slid the garter of her leg and then took it out from his teeth.

“See?” She asked. “No big deal.”

I sighed “Fine. No big deal.”

“Thank you.” She said coming back over to me. She fiddled with the necklace and my bracelets. “Now we just have to fix your make-up and you’ll be ready to be married.” She said beaming. “Kidding of course, no marrying til next week. And I will know if you try and run out on me.”

I laughed, Alice will be Alice.

My sister laughed at what Jasper said when I showed her. And I agree.

J.P.O.V.

Nessie came into the Cullen’s and plopped on the couch next to me. “Well, we’re basically set to get married.”

“That’s good.” I said taking her hand. She shook it off and I starred at her.

“I want to show you something she explained.” She pressed her hands on my forehead and I saw Jasper taking a garter off of Alice. Sheet, I hadn’t thought about that. She took her hands away and set them on my lap. “What do you think?”

“That’s funny…” I said.

“Yeah, they were trying to get me all not nervous about it. You’re not nervous, right?” She asked looking up at me.

“Course not.” I lied.

“Good.” She said happily.

“So what’s left?” I asked.

“Honeymoon planning. Although that’s nearly covered, Esme is letting us use her island.” She said. The lee- vampires had an island.

“Mmm.” I said.

“Yup.” She said. “It’s all hidden away and everything. They have some cleaning people though who are quite superstitious.”

“Ah.” I said.

“Yup.”

I looked over at her and kissed her for no particular reason. She smiled and pulled back a little. “What was that for?”

“For saying yes.” I said. All of the sudden I was completely calm, didn’t really have any thoughts otherwise. “Jasper.” I said trying to make it sound angry.

“Jacob?” He asked trying to act innocent.

“Would you mind not doing that?”

“Would you mind getting a room?”

I sighed. “C’mon, Ness.” I said tugging on her hand.

I glared at him when we walked past him. He just smiled.


S.P.O.V.

Working with your girlfriend is a lot more awkward than you would think it to be. No one knew so we had to keep our relationship as strictly friends. Which meant not unnecessary hugging, normal conversations, and absolutely no kissing, which meant work was now a living – “$12.95.” I said to the customer in front of me.

He gave me a ten and three ones. I pulled out his change. I seriously wished we could tell them but that would make work most likely more than – “15 cents is your change.” I said handing it to them.

“Seth and I are taking our break.” Sara announced. I hopped over the counter. “Would you stop that?” She grinned.

I grinned too as we walked outside and sat down in the only spot that was out of eyesight from everyone else. “Movies tonight?” I asked her.

“Sure,” she said.

“I’ll see you there at six?” I asked her.

“Of course.”

“I love you so much.” I said.

“I love you too.” She said taking my hand.

I leaned over to kiss her when the door opened we jerked apart and sighed, it was just a customer. I kissed her quickly. “I hate this.” I groaned.

“You’d hate it more if they knew.” She said. “Just ask the last couple who worked here.”

“I know, you keep saying that but…” I sighed. “Never mind.”

“What?”

“Nothing. Love you.”

“Love you too.”

The door swung open. “Breaks over!"
