Its been so long

Its been so long
since I've seen you,
and likewise.
I thought on that
last day i'd never have
to see you again...
all the feelings would
leave with you as
you walked into the world.
left me behind.
bet being so close again
after i had thrown memories
away, burned them,
and ripped them apart.
I ache.
I cry.
She doesnt even know.
you dont know.
you said yourself
"you've changed"
but that's not true.
really, you've changed.
but you're the same
in my eyes.
seeing you caress her now...
only inches from me.
it's not right.
but you've chosen.
im not her.

What happens

What happens to the beating heart
when it's love has dissapeared?
Does it go into a seceret place
so it can hide from all it feared?
Does it turn as hard as grainy stone
and gray as a cloudy sky?
Does it become like a human being
and do nothing but scream and cry?
Does it wander around an empty land
with no purpose or no drive?
Does it start to question its purpose in life
and nolonger want to be alive?
Does it act like a dying flower
and allow its leaves to crisp?
Or maybe, it's just a dying fire
and just goes away in floating wisps?
Perhaps it's like an empty pen
and just gets thrown away,
or maybe....it will fight for its lost love
and for it enter the battle fray...
