The Summer That Changed Us

I jumped of the buss and looked around. I was the last one here again. Same every year...I saw the others and jogged up to them. "Hey" I grinned.

I rubbed the back of my head, walking out of my cabin. First year of camp...ugh. I wish I was somewhere else.

"Hello."

"Er, sure." I said. "Where do you want to go first?"

I laughed and hugged her back. "Yay, I feel welcomed" I smiled.

I saw some people hugging each other and sighed.

I made a face. "Bad. Glad I'm back here. What about you?" I asked, noticing a girl walking bu her own looking lonely.

I sighed and walked somewhere.

"Sure." I said and began heading that way.

Back away slowly, don't look at anyone and they may not notice you leave. After I backed up a few steps I turned and headed off towards my cabin.

"Yeah we do" I grinned and ran over to Amanda. "Neither did I. Guess I'm lucky to be here" I said.

I walked back towards my cabin.

I shrugged and sighed. "Okay I guess. Can't say the same thing about my mom though. Dad finally left, and she's breaking apart. Had to get away from there" I said and smiled a bit.

I walked into my cabin and looked around.

I nodded with a small smile, "If you ever" I started, "And seriously, even if it's the middle of the night, want to talk come and find me ok" I took his hand and squeezed, "I'm an amazing listener"


I went to my cabin and put my stuff down. I looked in the mirror and sighed

I smiled warmly. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Now where can you get some food at this place?" I mumbled as my stomach rumbled.

I sighed and flopped down on my bed, looking at the ceiling.

There wasn't anyone there but the were several basketballs laying around the old hoop. "Well this is a depressing sight." I said.

I stowed my stuff under my bed as to not cause any trouble for anyone trying to walk around and went outside to walk around.
