Awakened *spoilers*

Holy cow can't wait till the next book comes out! I loved this one! It only took me two days to read!
So, I wondered if Nyx accepted Kalona back because the white feather he left behind....and omg Rephiam is only human during dark hours THAT SUCKS! Ugh I so thought that they would have kicked Neferets butt by now lol. So, all the Heath lovers out there HEATHS back....kinda lol Stevie Rae should have told the gang so it didn't turn out like it did ya know because I think they all would have understood because Z saw Stevie Rae when she was a monster and still saw good in her. Oh well wonder if the High Council will react to the news about Z's new House of Night lol if she follows through with it that is.
And darn the next book doesn't come out until November.....CAN'T WAIT!!

its more of a good thing that he is human at night. i mean he will be able to be with stevie rae while she is awake and not totally wiped out and forced to stay inside all the time

Yeah but it would still suck since it is his fathers fault he is the way he is. And I'm glad he chose Stevie Rae and that her friends kinda sorta accepted him.

Neferet is just getting worse and worse....first Health then Jack and now her mother....not nice!

I think SR couldn't have just tell them "hey guys i'm in love with a monster, the lead-killer-bird who broked several arms and necks and dunno what else he did. Is it ok for you that i'm sharing my bed with him now?"
No way they would have accept it. It have to be a drama-scene like that where they all have to decide quickly and without much thinking if they trust each other and if Rephaim is worth for protecting. But they would have a new trust issue with him, because Stark has his Kalona-problem and Rephaim knows that but didn't tell the others and i'm sure he wouldn't tell if he's not asked...

well yeah!! he's still his daddy and even though he said that his father never gave him any love that dosent mean that Reph never loved his dad. in fact i think he loved him very much. enough to not wish to hert him. what im gessing will happen is that Kalona will join with Z (not permenatly but long enough to get rid of Neferat) then mabe some of the other raven mockers will realize they have a choise in the matter and some (not most, prolly not even alot) will join the good side. and for every good think k does he goes more and more into the light. by the end of the series i realy want K to be back at Nyx's side in her realm. and i want Nef Dead and i want K's kids to eather join the vampires or fade into the dark. (its unrealistic to think that all evil will be gone) and that the wight and black bulls continue there endless war one sometimes gaining only to be pushed back by the other. Balence is what i want for the book at the end. not full on goody two shoes no darkness EVER. just balence. and love.

I agree, I think Rephaim really loves his father (i don't think that just stopped cause he's free now), and that would be a problem in the future cause I guess he still feels loyal to his daddy...

I cannot see Kalona join Z or Nyx. One of the last scenes showed that in my oppinion - this scene where Stark bite Z very hard, i guess Kalona took over Stark's soul there. And that shows me that Kalona still has his own evil plans and that he'll use Stark as a weapon against Z. It's sad, cause i really liked it that Kalona set Rephaim free and the white feather showed me that there is still something good inside him.

I don't believe that some other Raven Mockers join the gang; Kalona said to Neferet that the others are not like Rephaim. I believe that they are not human enough to realise that they have a choice or that they're not independent enough to go their own way (to light). I guess they're more like animals than human.

I wanna see Nef death, too. I just hate her since Awakened.

I'm not buying the next book...I'll get it from the library. The quality of the books diminishes with each installment. The characters are contradictory, whatever growth is found in one book, is lost in the next, etc. As for Awakened, It's a week after Heath's death, Zoey's shattered soul, her trip to the
Otherworld and back. Does Heath's body make it to his parents? Dunno. How do
the Lucks take their only child's death? Dunno. Does Zoey continue to mourn?
Yes...right into Stark's bed, with "I love you's", and "it was Heath's time" and
"I would've had to say good bye at some point" thoughts. Is all hunky-dory?
No...Kalona's spirit can now enter Stark's body and share it but Stark and Zoey
haven't figured it out yet. Does Neferet hoodwink the High Council. Yup. Does
Kalona get out from under Neferet. Yes. Does Neferet get more evil. Yes.
Does anyone but the scooby gang see it. Barely. Does Stevie Rae's mom discover
her daughter is alive? Yes. Does she ask questions? Of course not. Does Linda
Heffer make an appearance? Yes...just in time for a deux ex machina adulterous
discovery and her death/sacrifice to create an almost perfect Vessel of Darkness
for Neferet. The White Bull could've only telegraphed Grandma if he added "likes lavender and has a color and animal in her name". Stupid. What else? Jack is sacrificed to Darkness since Kalona failed too. Why him and not one of the other students? Well you have to have people killed if you want emotional impact. They teach that in creative writing 101 which I'm sure Kristin Cast has finally taken in college. What of Heath? He's playing football in the Otherworld but is given a chance to enter the imperfect Vessel as an essence of Light/love which he takes. And Rephaim? Well he's set free of Kalona and chooses Light so now he's a real boy like Pinochio...except for when he's a raven. And Dragon has decided that even though he knows Neferet is evil, he's going to side with her b/c he can't
forgive Rephaim Anastasia's death. What? I know... And the "other"
Reds...they're still eating people and led by Dallas. The only bit of good is that Heath's back in some form in the story...and Erik's a Tracker!!!! Hee.

Right, I'm not one to trash talk but I do agree with most of your criticsms. All the plot holes, the twists that defy the laws of nature, and some of the shortcuts that were taken. Back in Tempted, it seemed imperative that Zoey appeal before the Council in person, and when Heath is murdered, she then decides to just send an email, under some fool notion that a couple of typed letters would be evidence enough to prove that a High Priestess is evil. Good plan, not!

You know one thing I was so looking forward to in this book? I wanted to know the Council's reactions when they heard that Zoey accomplished what no other High Priestess had done before. You know, the ones that were supposedly "wiser" and more "experienced". That alone would have been worth the price of the book but no... Zoey accomplished the impossible, let's move on but keep treating her like a child.

Now I get why she killed Jack, so let's move on. Heath should have stayed dead as far as I'm concerned, he's brought nothing but trouble and caused Zoey so much grief over the past few books. If Zoey's life is in his hands, she is screwed.

Speaking of Heath's death, you raise an interesting point which I also thought would have been explored in this book: what about the parents? Wouldn't they be both pissed and suspicious of their son's death? You would think there would be a huge uproar in the community, people demanding to know what happened to the human who hanged out with his vampyre "girlfriend". And what would the vampyres tell them? That an angel killed him and that as punishment he was flogged? It's enough cause for a riot so where are the People of Faith and all the other anti-vampyre groups? It's frustrating to see so much potential and yet see it be ignored.

Heath is such a polarizing figure. He's my favorite character in this book...about vampyres. That says much.

i've been wondering that too.
it would seem that she let him back in for releasing Rephaim and backing off from Darkness.

^ I have a different theory. I theorise that Kalona's black-as-the-night-sky wings reflect his own personality and his dissent into Darkness. If so, then just by performing that one selfish act he had "purifyied" one single feather. Unlike some people here, I doubt that Nyx (or the bulls) is solely behind every supernatural occurance.
