Chapter 1
the day before the move
I woke up getting ready I headed down stairs. “i made you some breakfast” my mom called. “okay” I said as I walked into the kitchen. Sitting at my usual spot at the table. “how did you sleep” my mom asked. “yeah” I said eating the pancakes mom always made she knew they were my favorite. “honey there's something me and your dad have to tell you.” she said slightly smiling. Finally my dad talked. “were moving” he said getting to the point like he always did. “you mean..” I started but cut off as my cell vibrated telling me I had gotten a text. Were r u? It was my best friend Sam. I put my cell down on the table. “am I still going to go to school today” I asked hoping the answer was yes. “yes were going to pack later today so you need to get home after school is over.” my mom said getting up taking her plate to the sink. I picked my cell up. B there soon. I texted back. “I'll see you guys later” I said getting up I put my plate in the sink running up to my room to get my backpack even though today would be my last day at this school. I frowned I hated that I had to move. I grabbed my keys heading back down stairs out the door. I unlocked the door to my small dark blue jeep. I got in and started the car, driving down the road. I would miss this place the suburbia. When I got the school I parked and got out heading to the regular spot me and my friends hung out before school. “where have you been” Sam asked walking over to me. “i over slept” I said laughing. “you still haven't learned how to use that alarm clock of yours” my other friend James said. I just smiled. Temperately forgetting about the move. “guess what I got” Sam said putting her arm around my shoulder. “what” I asked looking over at her. “i got three tickets to The Roommate” she said as James put his arm on the other side of me so it was Sam, me, then him. “oh that reminds me” I said frowning. “what you can't go” James asked. “its not that” I said as we walked to are first class. “what is it” Sam asked. “i'm moving.” I said just as we walked into English. “wait what” James said sitting in his usual seat behind me. “your moving” Sam said now frowning. “i know” I said its not like I wanted to move. But I had no choice when my parents did something I had no say in it. It has always been that way so I had just gotten use to it. “well i'm going to miss you” James said frowning too. “please don't be all sad its gonna make this day harder” I said. “sorry” Sam said obviously trying to not to be sad. “yeah” James said doing the same. The bell rang and the class started. I didn't really focus on class. For one I wouldn't be here tomorrow. The first few classes passed by fast. At lunch I met Sam and James to go out and eat(Yeah the school actually let us do that). After lunch I went to Art. I had a thing for drawing. I drew a lot and my wall in my room had actually been dawn on like a canvas. But that was awhile back. When school was over I said my good byes to Sam and James. I hadn't noticed until I was half way home that I was crying. I would really miss them. We had been friends since 4th grade. I pulled in seeing the moving van. I got out and walked inside. “Mom Dad i'm home.” I said looking around. “were upstairs” mom yelled down. I when't upstairs. “what are you guys doing I thought you said we needed to start packing.” I said as I found them. They were in my room. “what are you guys doing in my room” I asked. “we wanted to take one last picture of your wall” mom said she then noticed I had been crying. “oh honey whats wrong” she asked. “moving i'm leaving my friends,the school,this house.” I said tears flowing down my face now. “everything will be okay you'll see” she said hugging me. I calmed down wiping the tears from my eyes. “okay” I tried to smile. “okay lets take the picture now that your home” she said. “let me go fix my hair and makeup. I was sure I looked like a mess. My mom nodded and I when't into my bathroom. I fixed my long black hair back to the way I liked it. Looking into the mirror I saw my green eyes the mascara running. I wiped it and reapplied it. “okay ready” I smiled. Walking up to my mom and dad. My dad had set the camera to go off so we stood there making goofy faces. I laughed even though I was sad and afraid of the move it was still fun to do this. “okay we should start packing” my dad said. It took about 2 hours to pack it all up and get it in the moving van. We headed out my mom and dad driving the van, my mom driving there car, and me driving my jeep. I wasn't sure were the new house was but it sure took along time to get there.

Chapter 2
the new school day
it took about a day to unpack all the stuff. But that didn't mean I would get to stay out of this new school. “Jade your going to have to go to school today” my mom said as we sat at the table eating breakfast. “but mom I....” I started but she cut me off with “honey it will all be okay” she said. “fine” I said getting up putting my dish in the sink. I headed to get my stuff. A new school, new friends, new enemies. This would be so great. I thought to myself sarcastically. Of course I didn't want to go I had even tried to play sick. Which didn't work they caught on to that right away. I wasn't actually sure where this new school was. So for today I would have to ride the bus. Which ever since I got my jeep I never did. There is just something about riding the bus u never really liked. But today I had to so I went outside to wait for it. The bus came like 10 mins later. I got on and found an empty seat. I sat there leaning against the window. Making sure to see exactly where the bus when't so I wouldn't have to ride tomorrow. When the bus stopped I looked to see who had got on. It was this cute guy. He was probably going to sit in the back with the rest of the people I guessed were popular. But instead he walked up to my seat. “you mind if I sit here” he asked. “i don't mind” I replied moving my backpack onto my lap. “so you must be new” he asked obviously trying to break the silence. “um yeah just moved here” I said. “oh thats cool” he said. The bus ride didn't last to much longer. But before we got off. “my names Bryan by the way” he said obviously waiting for me to reply before he left. “i'm Jade” I said. “nice to meet you Jade maybe I'll see you around some time” he said before leaving. “yeah maybe” I whispered. Now that I had some time to think I mean while I was walking to what I hoped was the office. Bryan was a good name. He had like short black hair, cute blue eyes, and a great smile. As I was thinking about him I hadn't noticed where I was going and ran right into this one girl. “crap” I said helping the girl pick up her stuff. “um sorry” I said. “its okay” she forced a smile. “i should have been watching where I was going.” I said. “its okay i'm Taylor” she said as she was getting her stuff back in order. “i'm jade” I said. “oh yeah do you know where the office is” I asked. “oh yeah” she said as she gave me directions to the office. “thanks” I said as I walked away. Taylor was nice even though I ran into her. She had long Brownish hair with dark highlights, and cool light blue eyes. I followed her directions to the office. Once there “um i'm new so I need a schedule.” I said to the office lady or whatever you want to call her. “whats your name” she asked. “my names Jade Blue” I said yeah my last name was Blue. I had always got made fun of because my name sounds like a color. Not sure why but yeah. Anyway she handed me the schedule.

okay so only 4 classes. The first bell rang so I headed off to my first class. Just before I walked into Art . A small Blonde stopped me. “stay away from him” she said in a bitchy tone. “away from who” I asked what was she talking about. “stay away form Bryan” she said. “what are you his girlfriend” I asked. “i soon will be” she said “okay” I said moving around her into my first class. “Ah you must be Jade” the teacher said when I walked in. “yeah” I said finding a desk that was open. I didn't really focus on the classes I thought about that blonde and how she freaked . But there was something weird about that. I swear her eyes changed color for a few seconds. I kinda freaked me out. I saw Taylor later at lunch. “hey Jade” she said gesturing me over to her table. “hi” I said sitting down. Once I sat down I noticed a guy sitting next to her. “oh this is Shawn” she said. “nice to meet you Jade” he said. “same” I said with a smile. “so I see you got on the wrong side of Megan” Taylor said. “you mean that bitchy blonde” I asked. “thats her” Shawn said laughing obviously at my description of Megan. “whats her deal anyway” I asked. “she has a thing for Bryan and if any other girl trys to even talk to Bryan she gets all defensive about it.” she said taking a bite of her food. “now it makes more sense she saw me talk to that Bryan guy on the bus this morning.” I said eating some of the food. Should I ask about her eye color changing. “do you know why here eye color changed for a second.” I asked. “should we tell her” Shawn asked Taylor. “tell me what” I asked. “well thing is this school well this whole town to be truthful is full of Vampires, werewolfs,Shapeshifters, and many other things.” Taylor said. “wait so you mean your...” I started to say. “i'm a vampire and he's a werewolf” Taylor said eating some more of her food. “but i'm not” I said. “are you sure of that” Shawn said. “i mean I've...” I cut off not sure what to say this was all shocking me. I still had two classes left.

Chapter 3
Secrets revealed
I caught up with Taylor and Shawn after school. “what are you guys up to” I asked even though I was still freaked about all this. “were just gonna go hang out” she said. “what to come” Shawn asked. “sure but could I ask a favor first” I said. “sure” Taylor said. “could you drop me off at my house first I have to talk to my parents about something. She nodded obviously understanding what I meant. We got into her car. I told her were my house was, when we finally got there I got out. “be back in a few mins” I said, “okay” they said as I walked up the lawn and into my house. “Mom Dad” I yelled. “what is it Honey” mom called from the living room. I walked into the living room. “why didn't you tell me” I asked. “tell you what honey” my mom asked. “about the new school” I said. She bit her lip. “i didn't think you would find out so soon” she said. “so what am i” I asked. “your Jade” she said. “no I mean am I a vampire, werewolf, shapeshifter, or what” I asked. “well honey your a shapeshifter.” she said. so I was a shapeshifter. “then why haven't been able to...” I started but mom cut me off. “you were never told how to.” she said. “then tell me now” I said wondering if she would really tell me. “you just got to think hard enough to become your animal form.” she said showing me what she meant by transforming into a large cat. I focused closing my eyes. I felt different I opened my eyes looking around. “see honey you did it” mom said back in her human form. “you mean i'm an animal” I asked. What animal I wanted to know. “look for yourself” she said holding out a mirror I saw a. I saw a wolf. Weirdly enough I had a white star on my chest. “whats the star for” I asked. “its are family mark” she said explaining every shapeshifter family had its own mark that only shown when in animal form and no other family can copy it. “cool” I said even though everything was new this made it easier to handle some how. I mean with something new about me in all this new. Just made it easier to bear. “mom can I go out with some friends” I asked turning back into my human form. “sure honey its good that you made new friends.” she said. I when't up stairs tossing my backpack into my new room. “see ya later” I yelled as I walked outside and back to the car. I knew the smile on my face was something new to them being as they thought I would run out crying If I came out at all. “well lets go” I said once I got in the car. “you mean your okay with what you are” Taylor asked. “why shouldn't I I've always been it” I said looking over at her. “that is true”Shawn said from the back seat. “so were we heading” I asked. “we was going to go catch a movie if that sound good to you” Taylor said keeping here eyes on the road. “sounds fun to me” I smiled. “good” Shawn said. Taylor pulled up at the movie theater. “here we are” she said. Stopping the car. “cool” I said even though it looked like any other movie theater I've been to. We got out. I was talking to Taylor who was right beside me. When I ran smack into Bryan. “oh sorry” I said getting up. “no I should have been watching were I was going” he said a smile on his face. “no its my fault” I said brushing of some dirt from my pants. He just smiled. “well I'll see ya around sometime” he said leaving. “is it just me or does Bryan like you” Taylor said laughing. I didn't really say anything as we walked in. did Bryan like me? I pushed that from my mind as we bought tickets for a movie and went in to find a seat. The movie was alright but I hadn't really been thinking about the movie. Once it was over Taylor and Shawn kept talking about it. When Taylor noticed I hadn't been talking. “something wrong” she asked. “nope everything's great” I said smiling. It was about 9PM. “i should probably get home” I said. “yeah there's school tomorrow.” Shawn said. “Okay” Taylor said dropping me off at my house first. “See ya tomorrow” I said as I waved. “Bye” they said back as Taylor drove away. I walked inside. “Mom Dad i'm home” I yelled. “Where in here honey we had a surprise for you” she yelled back. I went into the living room this time to see my mom and dad and some other guy. “who's he” I asked. “he's your older brother” Dad said. “But I thought I was an only child” I said. “well since I showed signs on being a shapeshifter before you I was sent here” the guy said. “we wanted you to have a normal life until...” she cut off. “until what” I asked. “until you transformed in your sleep” dad said. “when did that happen” I asked. “two days ago” Mom said. “we'll give you two some time to get to know each other” Dad said him and mom leaving. We sat there in the silence. “so when did you” I asked. “when you was 5” he said. “oh whats your name” I asked. I felt weird like I should already know his name but I don't. “ its Eli” he said. “oh cool name” I said trying to make it less weird. He smiled. “its been awhile since I saw you last Jade” he said hugging me. I smiled I had never known what it was like to have a brother. But it felt good. We stood there for a few mins then we sat me on the couch him in one of the chairs. “so whats your animal form” I asked. He smiled and transformed in to wolf that was bigger and his mark was on his head. “cool.” I said transforming my self. My mom walked in “no transforming on the furniture” she said laughing. I transformed back laughing. Eli transformed back smiling.

Chapter 4
the surprises keep on coming
we all ended up going to sleep that night. I woke up to my alarm. Eli walked in. “i set your alarm for you” he said laughing he obviously was told that I couldn't figure it out. “wait do you even go to school” I asked. Getting up I hit my alarm clock. “yeah two grades above you” he said. As he left my room. I closed the door. Took a shower and got ready for another day at school. I went down stairs grabbing a plate of eggs and bacon. I sat at the table. Eating I looked up at Eli he was eating some bacon. “you need a ride to school” I asked him. “you didn't tell her did you” Eli asked mom and dad. “well we've told her a lot in so few time.” Dad said. “what now” I asked. “well now that you know about you being a shapeshifter you have to learn about the hidden world” Eli said. Hidden world? What does he mean by that. “the hidden world is the world that normal humans don't see” he said. “what do I have to learn.” I asked. “well you cant say you haven't noticed anything different about your friends” he said. Now that I thought about it. Shawn did look alittle hairier, and Taylor looked way more paler than a normal human. And Megan her eyes had changed colors. “Jade” Eli said breaking me from my thought. “yeah” I asked feeling alittle stupid now. “what you saw at school yesterday was Glamor” he said as he explained that Glamor is a thing that the hidden world uses to make them hidden. Only those of the hidden world and those trusted by one of the hidden world can see through it. I nodded understanding what he was saying. “okay I just wanted to tell you so you wouldn't be completely freaked out by what you saw today. Also classes will also be different for you your schedule had Glamor on it.” he said as he got up and left the room. “so is that a no” I asked mom. “he has his own ride” Mom said taking my finished plate. I got up walking out just in time to see Eli drive off on his motorcycle. I walked up to my jeep. Just about to unlock the door as a car pulled up. It was Taylor. “Hey Jade come on” she yelled from inside her car. I walked over. “you decide to pick me up” I asked getting in. “well since your still new to the school and to the hidden world. I just thought” she said looking over. “thanks” I said smiling. Things just seemed to get better. But like always when things are so good something has to come along and make it worse. When we got to school I got out. I wasn't looking were I was going and ran right into Bryan. “we have got to stop meeting like this” he said in his deep voice. I was really close to him. “um yeah” I said. I think something is happening between me and him. The whole time I hadn't backed away from him. I looked up at him. He smiled down at me. Then I backed away. “um yeah I'll see you some time later” I said blushing alittle I walked away. Taylor had started to follow me. “hey Jade what was that about” she asked. “i uh” I stared but by now it was obvious to her. “you like him don't you” she asked. “sorta” I said blushing I hated it when I blushed. That some how reminded me to look at my schedule which would be different because of the Glamor I had saw before.

“so thats your schedule” Taylor said. “yup no Glamor this time” I said laughing alittle. She looked at me. “nothing” I said as we walked to first block. I wonder why there called professors here. But I would wonder about that some other time. “so what class do you have first.” I asked her. “physical ability's” she said. Hmm I wonder what that class is like. Then the first bell rang. “I'll see you later” Taylor said running off to her first class. I headed off to room 201. when all of a sudden I fell. “oh let me help you up” I herd that voice it only took a few seconds to realize who it was. Megan! She bent down and whispered “i told you stay away from him”. What was her freaking problem I didn't run into Bryan on purpose. “you just got your worst enemy” she whispered as I got up. Then she walked away. “desperate *edit your post and this will go away*” I muttered as I walked to my first class.

Chapter 5
new classes same old enemy
first block wasn't that dull as I thought it would be. I mean I never liked history. But the hidden worlds history was something like from a book. Second block class was actually fun I mean it I hadn't expected that it meant. That because I was in the class I had chosen to go into a profession as an artist. I mean yeah thats great I love to draw, paint, and all that other artist stuff. In Literature we started to read a book I didn't know was written by a werewolf. But most of all fourth block was the awesomest. I mean I was in a class full of shapeshifters. And we worked on transforming and all that stuff. After school had ended I went outside to wait for Taylor and Shawn. I'm not sure if it was just or if they had a thing for each other. As I waited I thought about Bryan. I mean he was tall and in between cute and hot. He had that short black hair, and cute blue eyes that were easy to get lost in, and that great smile that made me want to have stayed that close to him earlier. But with that *edit your post and this will go away* Megan it would be difficult to be with him even if he wanted to be with me. speaking of the *edit your post and this will go away* were was she. I looked around half expecting to see her come towards me half expecting to see her all over Bryan. But surprisingly they weren't outside. I headed back in just in time to smack right into Bryan. God was it just me or did I do this a lot. He just laughed. “whats so funny” I asked looking up at him. “how cute you are every time you run into me on accident” he said looking down at me. He was defenetly taller than me. I smiled. Why did it feel so right to be this close to him. To feel the heat between us. “so Jade whats your answer” he asked suddenly breaking me from my thought. “um yeah sounds good” I said not really sure what I had said yes to. “okay pick you up tomorrow night 7:30” he said as he walked away. Wait did he ask me on a date? I had been to much in thought to have herd what he asked. I found a bench and sat down. What was taking Taylor so long? I thought to myself. And while I sat there I felt claws like as if they were jabbing me. I looked around and saw nothing. But I did see someone in the window looking at me. Megan. She mouthed you just made your worst mistake. Then she disappeared. I sat there. Then saw Eli walk up. “you okay” he asked sitting beside me. “i guess” I said. “why haven't you gone home I thought you had your own car.” he asked. “well I got a ride with a friend today and I think she got caught up in something else” I said. “you want me to give you a ride.” he asked. “okay sure I guess” I said as he stood up and I followed him to his motorcycle. He tossed me a helmet “here put this on” he said as he got on. I put the helmet on and got on behind him. I did what you would usually do when riding on the back of a motorcycle. I wrapped my arms around his waist. I didn't really have to worry about that weird feeling I would get around a guy being this close. Because Eli is my brother. It was a short trip back home. When I got off I waved because I knew he was probably heading somewhere else. He waved back as he drove away. I headed inside. And up to my room for one I had a lot of homework to do. I started with history's homework. By the time I was done with all the homework I just layed there on my bed. Staring up at my ceiling. Today was fun and scary. I mean what the hell was Megan? And could she really hurt me? All that I would find out weither I wanted to or not.

Chapter 6
getting into things
I woke up after passing out. I had a serious case of bedhead. So I took my shower and fixed my hair. I left early that morning so I wouldn't make the mistake of running into Bryan. I was freaked out from yesterday and not sure what Megan could or couldn't do to me. I got in my jeep starting it I drove down the road. Then I realized today was Saturday. Which was why Eli and everyone else at my house slept in. so instead of heading to school I went to a nearby park. There was no way I would see Bryan there. I parked and got out. I walked around the shrubs were neatly cut. There was a path that lead to a small fountain. I walked over to it and sat down. I looked up at the sky. When I herd footsteps. “who's there” I asked looking around. “i warned you” the voice said. It was Megan. I jumped. “Megan what the hell” I said. “but you didn't listen” she kept talking ignoring what I said. “now your going to pay” she said her eyes changed a scarlet red. I did the first thing that came to mind. I ran. But she followed. I would be faster if I transformed. “run little shapeshifter but you wont get far” she said as she started to get faster. Ran. Focus. I yelled in my mind. I transformed getting faster. After I ran a few blocks ahead of her. She stopped obviously giving up. You think you have won. You haven't I will get back at you. I shuddered at the message. What the hell was she. I thought as I ran. I would have to get home. It was about mid day when I got home. I made sure to avoid the park. I walked in after I transformed back into my human form. “where have you been” Eli asked when I walked in. “i went to the park this morning” I said ommiting the part with Megan. “but you've been out for most of the day” he said. “well I've been jogging.” I said going with the first thing that came to mind. “well where's your car.” he asked. “still at the park” I said. He just sat there as if he was thinking. I mean thinking through all I had said. While he was thinking I asked “do you know Megan”. He looked at me “yeah I know who she is” he said looking at me with worried eyes. Which made me even more scared. “do you know what she is” I asked. I know these questions probably making Eli alittle scared. “well I know what she clames to be” he said. What she clams to be? She could easily be lieing. “whats she clame to be”i asked sitting down on the couch. “she clames to be a necromancer” he said. “but you think shes something way worse than that” I asked. “yes I do” he said. then he got more serious. “why are you asking all this” he asked. “i sorta got on her bad side and she came after me this morning.” I said telling the truth. “oh crap” he said. “what” I asked now I was totally freaked out. “well people in the past who have gotten on her bad side have ended up dead or worse” he said. Or worse. Kept going though my mind. what was worse than Death? “ do you hear me keep out of her way” he said in a very serious tone. “well the reason she dislikes me so much is because Bryan asked me out” I said more of the truth coming out. “that...” he started. “i said yes” I said cutting him off. He got up walking around. “I'll just tell him I cant” I said. “that would be a good idea” he said. Even thought I wouldn't want to do it I would have to anyway. I started to think about him. When Eli tossed me a phone. “okay okay I'll do it now” I said getting up I dialed hi number. “hello” he said . “ um yeah Bryan I can't go tonight” I said even though I wanted to say I couldn't wait. “oh you can't why” he asked obviously sad. “something else came up” I said. “its Megan isn't it” he asked. “huh” I asked. “she scared you so you don't want to go out tonight” he asked even though he already knew the answer himself. “um sorta” I said he deserved some of the truth. “don't let her scare you” he said. “Bryan shes not what she appears to be” I said and that scared me. “i know that” he said. “then you know why I can't” I said. “trust me she can't hurt you not now” he said. “wait what do you mean not now” I asked. “she had killed a human today” he said. “thats not good how does that make me feel better about going out with you” I said. “the council locked her up” he said. How did that even matter. “Bryan she was able to attack me from a distance” I said then I noticed Eli was looking at me. I headed upstairs to my room. “all her powers have been temperately taken from her.” he said. “oh” I said so she couldn't hurt me. “so I'll pick you up at 7” he said. “okay sure” I said even though I knew Eli would be pissed at me.7
