I leaned my cheek into his hand and wrapped my fingers around his wrist.

I cleared my throat but didn't pull away. "I was being serious though," I said. "I have to teach a lecture on the Romanians in 20 minutes and I haven't even found out where it is that I'm teaching."

I sighed. I wrote my new number on his hand and walked away.

I looked at her number and closed my fist. "I'm sorry Lizbet," I whispered as I ran away.

I went home.

I walked into the classroom and got everything set up for my lecture about Vlad. This included a slide show, articles written by well known and respected historians and texts for those dates. I have five minutes left before the lecture and I couldn't help but look at my hand. "F*** it all," I whispered as I called the number.

"Lizbet" I said when I answered the call.

"This is a mistake," I muttered into the phone before she picked when she did I said, "Dracula." Did she ever hear me? Did she know me?

"What is your real name? I have to say though I prefer calling you Alucard."

I smiled. So she did hear me. "Depends on the Era," I said leaning against my desk. "Right now it is Alucard. The same name I used in the 1500s and the 1600s. My first name was just Vlad. After this I used different variations of the names. I really am from Romania though."

"Have you ever been in love?" I asked.

I frowned. "Never," I said. "Friendship, friends with benifits, f*** buddies but never love. Why? Or more importantly how do you remember me?"

"I remembered nothing for awhile and then one day I remembered everything." I said softly.

I frowned. "Why?" I asked. "I did that for a reason Lizbet."

"I think its because your the only person I've ever trusted..." I said softly. And I think the only man I could love..., I thought to myself.

I shook my head. "Trust someone else Lizbet. Not me. Never me," I said. I looked at my watch. "I gotta go. Remember the dinner we met at? I'll meet you there in an hour or so." I hung up and turned off my phone just in case she tried to call.

I sighed. I went to the dinner. I got a booth in the shadows.

I started my speech with How Romanians lived back then highlight on the parts of Transylvania (sp). I ended with how Vlad the Impaler died and how the myth of Dracula came from his life and death. I took questions and there were more then expected. Most of which was about what they should have learned prior to my lecture. I sighed and answered them all. I looked at my watch. This had gone on 1 and a half hours longer then I expected. I cleaned up and ran for the dinner, totally forgetting about my bike.

I was on my third glass of ice water. I sighed. where was he?

I stopped at the street corner to try to catch my breath. She wasn't there. I knew that. So why was I running? Why don't I just call her? I kicked the lamp post and walked the rest of the way to the dinner. At least I could get a slice of pie. When I walked in I saw the unexpected. She was still here. Why? I walked over to her and sat at her booth. I said nothing. "I really did it you know," I said as an attempts to try to keep her away from me. For her own sake.

"I know." I stated. "But as you said he got what justice he deserved." I said in a whisper.

"Do you really believe that?" I asked as a server set down a glass for me. I pulled out my medicine and poured it into the glass. The silver powder turned the water red and I watched. "Do you even know what you are speaking to?"

"I don't care. You are Alucard and you always will be so don't tell me different"

My eyes narrowed. "I've killed people before," I said. "And not just the bad. Did you read the repots even? They said, I quote, 'All limbs were torn off in apartments. Signs of struggle was shown over,' dot dot dot. Do you know what that meant? I pulled him limb from limb while he was still alive Lizbet." I gave her a cold smile that showed my fangs. "And that didn't even kill him. 'Large amounts of blood disappeared along with heart, which was ripped from chest by what appears to be a hand- possible that missing heart and blood was sold on black market. Cause of death was being impaled upon all knives that were found within the home.' They will never get the blood stains out of that house Lizbet. And that wasn't the worst thing I've ever done. I enjoyed killing him. Living up to the reputation of a man I worked for a lifetime years and years ago."
