I thought about it and nodded. "Alright," I said. "My friend Devon, from a different school, is holding a birthday party at her house on Saturday. Be my date. You don't have to bring anything but yourself and dancing shoes. I'll pick you up. That good enough for a first date? Or would you rather have something more private."
