I wanted to say 'presisly, you'll always wake up.' but I didn't.
I took another bite of the bar. "Apart from the dreams, do you remember anything from your past?" I had to ask.

"no $hit I am glad I don't have them." I mumbled and listened to their conversation.
The past....something I rather not pay much thought to ...but to think of it....not remembering at all would kinda suck...maybe Hybris had a similar story to tell? maybe he could help....maybe....hell....was he the same?! Or is he just trying to get information?
I frowned thinking about all the possible connections while they talked.

"Hey! No need to be rude here." Zhane looked at his sister with a sad smile. But his mood shifted quickly. "Oh yea! I have to be somewhere else. Let's see..." He put out his hand like he just opened a book and started to move his finger like he is following a line. "There's Ana, for noon snack, Brie for desert, Madeline for a quick snack, she always likes it quick." He laughed at Feisha and waited for her to hit him with something.

"Please accept my apologies if the room is messy. Haven't had the chance to clean it today." Marat was sweating like he's on fire. Calm down, he is just a man, everything will be fine he tried to ensure himself but it was not helpful. He took a deep breath and continued the conversation. "Yes, I have." He smiled a bit. "She is amazing."

"Spare the apologies," He replied, raising a hand. "I knew you were the best one I chose, and I expect you to behave as such. I cannot allow those Nocturnals to get there hands on Faisha." He ground his teeth as the thought.

She looked at her brother, walked over to him and punched him. "Jerk" i muttered. "Now leave, i have to go someplace, go talk to dad or something"

Marat was disgusted at the thought of the Nocturnals getting their hands on Feisha. "You have my word sir. No harm will come to your daughter while she is in my care." He fisted his hand and crossed it over his chest. He looked serious alright. He really loves Feisha, and he is damn sure he will protect her from anything or anyone, even if the cost is death.

"Oh yea! That reminds me. Marat told me we'll go hunting for lunch." Zhane stood up and looked at his sister. "You wont miss me right?" He made a puppy face, a little bit sarcastic move, but he knows his sister will understand. "Oh well. The pack needs my strength. Geez, I don't know what they would do if something happens to me." He sighed and shook his head, acting as always. He was pretty good at that.

"Excellent" he nodded, repeating the gesture. "Now, there is also something else I came to inform you about. We recently received word the Nocturnals have been planning a surprise attack despite the treaty in place. I need you to patrol the woods tonight just in case."

"Im pretty sure both of us have a pretty good i dea of what that might be" i said. "Now go, before Marat decides to leave you to fend for yourself" i said closing the door behind me. I needed to talk to Marats mother about.. well everything.

Marat was shocked. A sneak attack from Nocturnals? At this time? "Be assured I will." He stood in front of the alpha with pride. He will not let him down in any way. "Excuse me sir, but, Zhane and I have to go hunting for lunch now. May I be excused?" He looked humble as usual, and his honesty always got him on the right move. But he was a bit nervous of speaking so bravely to the alpha.

Zhane literally kissed the door of his sisters room. Jerk he silently told her, well, actually he told the door, and started to walk to Marat's cabin. On the way, he thought about the hunt. Where they will hunt, what will they hunt, how many will they hunt. His thoughts got him loosing track of time and he was in front of Marat's cabin no time. He knocked twice before entering, where he saw his father talking to Marat. He noticed the conversation stopped and that both of them looked at Zhane. "Dad? Hello." He was nervous about seeing his father in Marat's cabin, because Zhane knew he was reckless lately. And he always had to prove himself to be worthy of the future alpha title. He bowed to his father as he usually does and waited for him to made his you-are-a-piece-of-$hit speech, the one he has heard many times.

"Zhane," his tone was stern with little emotion. He knew the boy had been reckless the previous night but now was not the time to lecture. There were more important matters to attend to. The Nocturnals decided to break the treaty but he refused to strike first despite the objections from the Council who demanded a swift counterattack. There was little evidence to prove otherwise. He turned back to Marat. The boy was always nervous around authority. "I must attend to another important matter, so yes, you may be excused." He strode towards the door but before he left he turned to Zhane. "I will speak with you later"

I went and walked towards Marats mothers place. Margarett was her name. She knocked once lightly, waitting for the door to open, she knew margarett was inside, it was still early and she knew Margarett liked wakingup late like herself.

"Hey kid?" Hybris moved his head so he was in the way of whatever the dude was looking at.
"Hey.." He waved his hand. "You ok? You seem a bit dazed."
To him it felt like talking to a dummy with it's eyes glazed over.
"Kid, Do you remember anything from your past?" He asked again. He really wanted to know. Hybris got to thinking...If he doesn't, and I don't, what does that mean??

I looked up at him. "Not much, well, I remember a little bit, the Broken part is most prominent but I can sort of pick up on details."

"Nothing before becomming broken though?" He asked. He felt a bit guilty for asking so many questions, Hybris wondered if it was his turn to anwer some soon.

i started to frown more by all the questions he was throwing at Ethem.
"Hey hey...easy...I kinda get the feeling u two have much in common but u gotta slow down."

I lowered my head. "I apologise. I'm interested to know about you and what happened. Everyone says that there's nothing good about being broken. And in common?" I hadn't really realised that, but now that Skylar mentioned it..
I took the last bite of my snack. "i guess it's my turn now eh?" I said after I swallowed.

I smiled at Hybris, he was just interested. "Why don't you all get over here and we talk...if you want want to. If not it is fine with me, I don't snoop. But if there is any chance to help the situation it would be a smart move."

I was thankful Skylar stopped the conversation a bit. Hybris must have been curious and determined to find out more about something. Though what I couldn't tell.

i looked over to Skylar. "What sort of talking?" I asked cautiously. I wasn't about to tell her everything.

I grinned and started to count at one finger after the other"wll let me see, your favorite food, your favorite color and oh yes your size of underwear" ....his distrust was too obvious..."I don't care ok? Whatever you are willing to or not. I can leave if you want to talk to Ethem alone if you don't trust me. I don't know either of you anyway...so I get it" I was hungry and this whole scene was slowly getting to me.

Zhane was worried as he saw his fathers sharp look. And he knew that with those words something has to be wrong. He felt a little sad because he knew he was going to be punished for something after they two talk. "Yes father." He made a small bow and watched his father leave the cabin.

"Thank you sir. Be well." Marat made a small bow and was relieved to be excused for the awkward conversation. He was always nervous around authority. He was a bit scared for Zhane after the alpha spoke to him and Marat was worried about his friend. He walked slowly to Zhane and put a hand on his shoulder. "Everything will be fine. If you don't want to you don't need to go hunting now." His worried face could not fade away from his face. Even though he tried to cheer up his friend he knows he can't. Zhane's father was a tough one.

"It's ok. I'll go. Have to shift my focus at something." Zhane looked at his friend and was actually happy to have Marat by his side. Feisha and Marat were the only two persons in this tribe that made him truly happy and that actually understood him. Well, other girls too, but that was something else. Zhane walked out of the cabin with his father in his mind and went straight to the woods. He needed to kill something, something big, something big enough to make his father proud of him. Zhane thought as he followed Marat's lead to one of their usual hunting places.

Marat was worried about his friend. Zhane didn't even bother to cover his tracks once he accidentally stepped into mud. Marat had to remind him of that. He made a deep sigh as he walked to the valley. Once they finally reached the edge of the forest they saw a beautiful valley with deers all over the place. As Marat prepared himself for the hunt he saw Zhane in front of him. Slowly, but carefully approaching an old deer.

Ok, you can do it. Zhane thought to himself as he watched the deer closely. He shifted his position in the familiar way when he always prepares for battle. Finally, he charged. The deer was surprised at his presence and froze for a second. It was more than enough for Zhane to bite it in the neck. Victory. Lunch was half ready. He saw Marat going after another deer, and with his speed he was victorious too. This was a quick hunt. a thought came to his mind as he carried the deer to Marat. "Lunch served." he grinned at his friend who was also happy it didn't take them too long to hunt. "Let's go back and fry this babies." Both of them started to walk back and laughed at the usual boy stories they always liked to talk about.

Marats mother opened the door, she stood, 4'9 inches of her and smiled. She looked so much like him. "Goodmorning sweetheart" she said going over to me and giving me a hug. I hugged her back. "Come in, come in" she said pushing me in her hut, her husband wasnt there wich was good for us. "What is it you wanted to speak with me about?" she said loooking at me. She knew i always needed to talk to her about something. "Its about Marat.... and the wedding" i said shily.

I was grateful she took control of the situation. There was no way his twenty questions were going to be answered. I didn't know everything about it. He was more an expert than me.

"ok." He sighed out. "Hare, Orange and... I'm definatly not telling you that." He laughed.
"No don't go, I'll stop now." Hybris said. he didn't know if He could be left alone with a Broken. He didn't know what this kid was capable of.
"one last question.." He started off with seeing what the boy's reaction was.
"What's your name?"
