Dallas! Hello! Does anyone remember him?

Well, at least he's there and it makes me feel better. Otherwise I would really be worried about SR. Why?

Since I'm rereading stuff, I stumbled upon some things:

- When Zoey got almost killed by that RM, SR said to her that without Z she wouldn't know what to do and that the darkness inside her might overwhelm her. No wonder, after all the despair, pain and hatred/revenge (for Neferet/Kalona) she would feel are all feelings of darkness...
- Aphrodite mentions SR really caring about Z and always choosing good, even if sometimes it's hard for her. So I take it as confirmation that SR seems to be different from Stark or Dallas. It always seemed that unlike them, her Change wasn't a definite decision between Light and Darkness, but I could be wrong and Stark/Dallas' isn't definite too.
- Neferet being able to "infect" people with darkness, like she tried with Stark at the end of Hunted. I really hope she doesn't try that with SR. That's the reason I'm glad that Rephaim is there, if Neferet attacked her and Rephaim sees her struggling, he wouldn't be able to stand it and jump in. Hopefully. ^^

Neferet can project into Nicole, or at least Rephaim saw her projecting from Nicole.

But honestly, I'm little annoyed at the "Has Stevie Rae gone over to the Dark Side?" attitude that Zoey has. She's all about having Faith in the Goddess and all, but seems to have none to spare for the people around her.

agree with ya bella... and it's sad that Z always is like "she has secrets, she may get evil again" (that isn't said in words, but if ya read between the lines), but she just doesn't try to help SR in her fight against the internal darkness, but distrust her! everyone should have a BFF like Z! -.-

and of course Rephaim would not let it happen if Neferet tries to infect SR with Darkness, cause the fact that SR is kind and good are things he likes and which make SR for him something like a example.

I agree with you as well, I don't think Rephaim would allow Stevie Rae to be infected with Darkness, that he would encourage or help her to fight it.

but i guess Neferet wouldn't try to infect her, SR is just too much on the side of light. She's much more in danger to be killed from NEferet, Kalona, a raven mocker or a bad red fledling...

You're right, but is she really that safe?

Because throughout the last few books we always got hints that there is more going on with her. That she's still struggling and keeps choosing good over evil. But what happens, if Zoey and everyone distrust her and except for Rephaim (and even he might not be there from the start) she is alone and it is starting to mess up her mind? That's what I'm worried about.

Not really about her becoming evil again or at least not for long, but the turmoil it would cause for her inside. :/

yes you're right with this struggeling, but i really guess that Neferet would just try to kill her, cause there would always be the danger that SR turns to light again. She did it once. And she was never as much influenced from darkness as the other fledlings (otherwise she won't have been able to talk to Zoey). I really guess much more that Neferet wouldn't try that again.

You mean like her blood lust? Is that what you mean by struggle? I mean because it seemed like to me, ever since the whole Bull incident, she doesn't have that struggle any more. She stepped into the Light.

Oh. Now that you say it...well, I've reached Burned with my rereading so I will look out for that now, thanks for mentioning it. Didn't really register it before, would be nice.

Sorry about that I see Dallas going in a few directions

- Hooking up with Nicole and her bad fledglings to take down/kill Stevie Rae
- Pretending nothing happened in the tunnels and just coming back to the House of Night and the tunnels and secretely and slowly starts turning everyone against Stevie Rae

I'd hate the latter, but can't see him doing it. He has too much hatred inside now and not enough self-control in my eyes. He's intelligent yes, but I never saw him as an intrigant. Also SR would try to confront him directly then, and if anyone listens in on them, it wouldn't only be bad for her, but his scheme would be discovered too, which would bite both of them in the behind, not only her.

So going to Nicole and figuring out a way to uncover her secret from a distance sounds more like him to me.

No way he's an intrigant, i think he will start a great show with "good afternoon ladys and gentlemen, i have to tell ya that there's a betrayer in your group!"
After the selfish dramatic scene in the tunnel-kitchen, i think he's got a preference for some drama

I don't think he's going to go back to the HON like he said he would. Instead I think he's definatley going to go find Nicole and the other bad fledglings because they all hold some sort of hatred for Stevie Rae. I'm not sure if Dallas actually hates her or not, he might just feel really hurt and betrayed. Anyway, since he's a full vampyre now, he'll keep them all alive so they can make Stevie Rae's and no doubt Rephaim's lives miserable.
So Neferet has to know about SR and Reph's imprint right? since Dallas will probably inform her....

Is it even possible to have an affintey for electricity? I wonder how he will use it

^ That depends on how his affinity develops. We've seen him use it to disable security so it looks like he can manipulate electronics or at least turn them on and off. I doubt anyone here is familiar with a PS3 exclusive called inFamous where you play as a guy who gets electric powers. Sequel to that game coming out next week.

Anyway this Cole McGrath character was basically a walking battery but last I checked Dallas could only redirect electricity, i.e. he had to tap in a source to be able to manipulate the electricity. I'd doubt he'd ever be in Cole's league but if Dallas could do half of what Cole does, tapping into a source or not then Stevie Rae had better be careful.

Oh okay, do you think this new found affinity will come in handy when he turns evil (if he does?)?? At the moment it seems fairly random.. Everyones affinity is relevant to the group.

In areas full of electricity, perhaps electrical plants where he could get a steady flow of energy, he could be very dangerous. If his affinity could allow him to manipulate electrical storms, he could possibly turn the Raven Mockers biggest advantage, flight, against them. Without knowing his limitations I can only speculate.

Hmm... I honestly think if he has turned evil electricity would be no match for an earth affinity.. But i'm probably wrong.

And Dallas has an interesting affinity. Stevie Rae already blocked it though, so I think she can defeat it. Doesn't Earth absorb electricity anyway? I might be wrong haha
